First off let us just say, that the managers of this park were extremely nice and bent over backwards to help get us into a site we would fit in. When we first showed up, we were initially given a site that not only would we not fit in, but we couldn’t even navigate our rv along the narrow roads to get to the site. They kept trying until they found us another site and even helped us get backed up and turned around, not once, but twice and then proceeded to help us get parked. They felt bad for all the hassle we’d gone through and gave a bundle of free firewood, which we told them was not necessary. You can tell they are working hard to clean up the park and cleaning up all the sites that were in disrepair, making more sites available, which was nice. When we first showed up we weren’t too sure about the place, but we could tell that it was starting to look much nicer, even after just a couple of weeks. Everyone we came across at this park was very nice and friendly.

For the park itself, we will say that the sites are all very close together and the layout was somewhat odd. They definitely have packed every inch of this park with as many sites as they could, which probably about 90% of them are taken up by annual/ seasonal campers. There are a few sites scattered here and there in the “residential areas” of the park that are open, but we would only suggest those for smaller rigs. On the main road coming into the park, there are about 10 sites that will accommodate up to 40ft rvs, which is where we ended up. The roads are very tight and narrow throughout the park and the directional signage throughout the park is very confusing. It was a nice enough park with lots of people always out and about and there seems to be a lot of activity going on. There are 2 different laundry facilities on site and they only take coins. One closes at 8pm and the other is open 24/7 as it’s ‘outside’. The restroom/shower houses were nice & clean from what we saw. There was a somewhat new dog park, that our pups enjoyed going to and playing with other pups occasionally. The office staff was always nice and would call us when we got packages delivered. From what we saw, there are 2 pools and 1 hot tub. We were extremely irritated and thought it was just plain stupid, that the pools & hot tub were closed and locked up every night at 8pm. Most nights it didn’t even start to cool off until 7-8pm and sunset/dusk was usually around 8:30. But seriously though, who wants to get in a hot tub out in the hot sun, when it’s been hot all day?? That would not be any kind of relaxing at all, which is what a hot tub is for! As much as we really would have liked to use the hot tub, we sadly were never able to do so.

If we were in the area again we would probably stay here, but I doubt we would go out of our way to do so, especially when we can’t even take advantage of all the amenities. Again, very nice people that work here and from what we observed, the annual/seasonal campers were all nice.

The park is mostly permanent residences. Some are very rough and need updating. The park is over run by mesquites and chiggers. Can’t sit out side even during mid-day time with out being bit up.

The surrounding area has a lot of activity. Beach with a pier and a lot of restaurants and bars. There is a trolly you can ride. A round trip on the trolley is less than parking at the pier and you don’t have to drive after drinking late.

Chose this specific campground for it pools disabled accessibility via chair lifts.
We confirmed during reservation so they knew we were coming.
None of the lifts were operational. Some staff told us they hadn't been in several years.
A simple battery is all that's needed for operation.
We were not offered any recompense for lack of access.
Apparently no batteries on location so we were S.o.L..
Other wise, location was good. Small stones on site ground helped keep dirt away. Water pressure was good.
We maneuvered our 40' class A with no issue.
Wheelchair accessible trolley car every 30 mins was much appreciated.

We were concerned about this park after reading other reviews stating that it’s mostly permanent structures, but the location was exactly where we needed to be so we decided to take the chance. While resorts down south often have full time residents, they cater towards cheap housing for lower class. Pinehurst Resort is seasonal, so these structures are vacation homes for upper middle class and are very well maintained. People were friendly, and we greatly enjoyed seeing all the different decorations on each place while walking around. There is a trolley that picks up right at the resort and can take you anywhere in the area. There’s OOB, Palace Playland, Funtown Splashtown, Aquaboggin, Shops, Drive in Theater…so much to do just a $2 trolley ride away! Staff was friendly and accommodating! We plan to come back and bring the teens!

Younger crowd “teenagers” ruined weekend by destroying bathrooms. Rates are very high was almost 400$ for one weekend. Hot water was so hot that it was burning my skin. If my son had gone in shower he would have badly burnt himself

The curb appeal is terrible and unfortunately that’s the least of your worries. We received multiple emails prior to our stay to Check In online, so that is what we did. It advised us to drive right to our site and click “I’m here!” When you’re at your site. We were welcomed by a gate. Nowhere in our checking process were we advised of the gate. While waiting for someone from the office to come out, I can only guess seasonal’s started beeping at us. The office worker told me I should have gotten a code and asked that I walk back to the office after we got settled. In the office I was advised that the online check in process was not working well but I get the sense it’s working fine, they just are unaware of how it works. The campground, while large, is tight. We had trouble navigating with a 34ft trailer. Our site was clearly a seasonal and they must have just cut the grass but didn’t clean it off the site, long hay everywhere. While hooking up we found we didn’t have water though we paid for a full hookup site. They ended up splicing us into our neighbors. It’s just junk. And the seasonal campers are not friendly whatsoever. And nearly every RV is run down. Stay away.

We opened a month late because of the Covid situation which I understand. We were reimbursed $250 for the month which as I figure it is 1/4 of what it should have been. Half would have been fair but then they go up $200 on next years seasonal fees!!! A lot of trailers have moved out.

We have been here a number of years now but it seems the early letters we get from the new staff don't always follow through. The workout room is still not usable and this is after 3+ months. The small pool we used to use with our grandkids is out of commission (all season) and the cable tv occasionally works. On the plus side they have done some site improvements but for 6K per season this is left wanting.

The campground is mostly seasonal campers. If you can get a site in the trees, the campground itself is well maintained but the recreational area does not supply tennis racquets/balls or the shuffleboard stick and disks. They only had 2 deflated balls to use at their beautiful like-new hoops. There is a playground and a dog park. They don't allow the dogs anywhere other than walking along the road on a leash and in the dog park so it is good there is somewhere for the dog to run. The bathrooms are well maintained. When someone broke a water pipe, they had it fixed within a few hours. They did have activities such as a DJ, daytime trick or treating, a golf-cart parade, and gave out pumpkins. We wanted to get a pumpkin but the activities are not written anywhere so I never figured out where or when they were giving out pumpkins and missed them. If they could find a way to inform people of activities, it is decent, but really feels like a small town more than a campground.

We did enjoy our stay at Pinehirst, but the people next to us were so loud it made it hard to sleep. The mom on the two year old were up an outside at 6:00 am and he was either crying or she was yelling at him at the top of her lungs. They left one day before us so we had one really nice and quit day while we were there. LOL! Most of the annuals don’t take care of their sites with weeds and junk all over the place. I will have pictures on RVLIFE if you want to see them.

All the employees were so nice and did everything to help us when we needed it and fixed our spigot that was stripped out and then filled a deep hole with gravel. They fixed all of it while I was still setting up.

The biggest problem I had with Pinehirst was they charged me $30.00 because we got there before 3:00. We got there at 1:30 and the site was empty. That is wrong! If the site was empty she should have let us come on in.

The location was really good. Lots to do and see. They have a trolley that comes and picks you up for a $1.00 to take you to the beach, shopping and the pier, which is a great deal seeing how it cost $30.00 to park in Old Orchard Beach. We stayed their all day and paid another $1.00 to come back to Pinehirst. That was great.
