The Echo Motel is centrally located and within walking distance to the pier. Clean and comfortable motel units with or without kitchenettes are located 50 feet from the ocean with no streets to cross. All accommodations are reasonably priced.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The motel is right off the the beach. It is charmingly designed with white and teal exterior. For a couple day stay it is perfect place to stay - its within walking distance of the pier and shops. The Motel is located far enough from the pier as to not hear a lot of loud noises from the pier night life! The kitchenette is perfect to have a simple cooked meal at home. The owners are super friendly and accommodating with anything that is needed. This is a great place to stay.

My family and I enjoyed a spectacular 6-night stay. The owners and staff were friendly, helpful, and obviously took pride in taking great care of the place --rooms and grounds were immaculate! The heated pool was a nice alternative when the ocean was too cold for swimming. Beach was just behind the motel and the pier a short walk away. Would DEFINITELY return!

Lovely location and clean and friendly. We needed a place to stay as the Marcotte Motor Court was too moldy for us to stay in. The only issue with staying on this road is the trains that run a few hundred meters away. They also get families here so it can be noisy at times but a full day at the beach seems to tucker them out early.

I'm going to mail this review via USPS to the new owners before I go public with my scathing review. The 3 cottages that were ECHO were sold & now it's Turning Tides OOB! Evidently I can't write a review with less than 200 characters, so here's a sample. Stay tuned for more.
THE PARKING/Part 1: As soon as we arrived, I knew this was not going to go well. There was a gigantic black SUV parked in the space I assumed would be assigned to my rental since it was 2 ½ feet off the side of the Studio’s deck. I was wrong. It turned out to be the assigned parking space for the renters of Cottage #3 & when I asked the two sisters to switch parking spaces after they unloaded their car, they flatly refused! I sought out the owners, hoping they would help negotiate. I was even willing to pay extra, even give it to the Cottage #3 renters to get that space, but the owners were nowhere to be found.

Extremely clean, well kept older motel. Beach side, no roads to cross. Great location. Nice heated pool. 2 min walk to beach. Recycling o/s units. Comfy beds. Well stocked kitchenettes. Good air & ceiling fans. VERY nice responsive owners.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights what a pleasant time. We met the new owner she was so nice to talk to, the room was so fresh and clean, the pool was also pristine. Nina and the other girls were always so busy cleaning they did a great job! thank you to all who made our stay so wonderful!

My wife and I enjoy The ECHO. We have stayed there for a number of seasons. Over time, we have found things that have changed there: the heated pool, air conditioning, propane grills for everyone. We have also found things that have not changed: cleanliness, quiet, comfort, security, good value. We look forward to our return there.

We stayed at the Echo Motel for a week stay in August, what a delight! It was clean, comfortable, and so close to the ocean we could not of asked for anything more. We had a kitchenette and it was completely equipped. The place is immaculate. It is perfect beacuase there are no streets to cross, and when you have children and elderly parents that is important. It is the best priced motel around, you do the comparison. They also have cottages some are oceanfront, they are great. Next time we go to OOB we are staying there, I will never look for another spot.

My wife and I stayed at The Echo Motel in Old Orchard Beach the last week in August. We were skeptical as always booking sight unseen but we took a chance. The Echo had the right price and its web site was very descriptive. The room was a "kitchenette" and and all rooms were non-smoking. We have 2 essential needs; clean and quiet at night. The Echo exceeded our expectations. The Echo was immaculate in and out. The pool was wonderful and we were about 75 feet from the ocean. Our bonus was great weather. Paul in the office was especially helpful about where to eat and Leslie was the shopping guru! Old Orchard in general was quite active and there were many motels to chose from but we will return to the Echo! I hope this review is helpful.

We stayed here in August, my wife and three boys and myself. We decided on the Echo Motel from the good reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not very impressed after staying here. The property seemed fine, but upon check-in I realized they gave us the room ( I think room 9?) right next to the pool and with a staircase right in front of our room. That means out of all the rooms on the property, we got all the noise from the pool plus everyone coming up/down stairs from the second floor rooms. Also, the little tiny space in front of each room facing outside that most people could sit outside on, we had a staircase right in front of ours. The real kick in the rear is that this room also doesnt have parking on site, I had to park the car across the street while everyone else with a room had parking there. Not a huge deal, but clearly this is the worst room in the resort and they should have told us when booking or offer a discount. The rooms were ok, very spacious for our family, bathroom was a bit small but we managed. Very close walking to the beach. The cleaning /housekeeping did an excellent job in tidying up. One other point that we didnt like, there is no ice maker on the property, you have to buy your own. No beach towels, you have to bring/buy your own, and no beach toys for kids. We ended up leaving the beach toys and towels that we bought with the management for future users. Our family didnt really like Old Orchard beach, not our type of crowd and we wont be going back. The Echo was just ok, apparently there are a lot of Canadiens from Montreal that really like this place as we talked to several that come back year after year and seemed to really like it, but it is not really for us.

We are happy to hear that this writer spoke to many of our repeat customers from Canada who really enjoy their time at the Echo, we love having people be happy during their stay. He is correct in stating that his room was spacious, it is approximately 15' x 30' with 3 beds, and the location is in great demand by families with children who enjoy being close to the pool. I do not consider this traveler's comments as nitpicking; its about preference. He made it very clear that Old Orchard Beach is not his type of vacation destination and his thoughts and feelings about the Echo were influenced by his total experience. He prefers amenities more often provided at, for example, Four Season's Resorts; although I can assure you his car would be parked further from his room at any Four Season location then it was at the Echo. His reservation was made by his mother who also booked a room but later cancelled. Unfortunately all information about the room, its location, and what is provided was explained to his mother and apparently, not communicated to her son. I would advise all people who book their vacations at the Echo to please speak with us as we want to be very open, honest, and totally transparent in terms of portraying our motel accurately, so there are no surprises.
