Your dog has to walk on certain roads and has a maximum size leash rule, swim suits are frowned upon outside of pool or lot- (give me a break), no alcohol outside your lot...(what???) The park is nice enough but sites are VERY SMALL. WIFI is only available in the so called library aka very small trailer type of room. Fitness center is not great. Has a real Bible thumping feel to the park. We will not be back

The good - This park is in a great location with stores like WalMart, TJ Maxx, Home Depot and Lowes close by. Great restaurants are a $12 Uber ride away. The price is reasonable and the office staff is helpful.
The not so good - If you like to or need to use your RV park's facilities for toileting or showering, do not stay here! They have one toilet and shower at the front of the park and one toilet and shower at the rear. When I needed to use them they were either occupied or being cleaned. In addition, there is no a/c in the stalls. This may not be a big deal during cool weather, but during hot & humid days...ewwww! In addition, they have many washing machines but only 2 dryers in each of their two laundry rooms. Not a big deal during sunny days, however, one of their main rules is that you are not allowed to hang dry anything at your campsite. Strange. Also, when I saw they had a fitness room, I was hooked! HA - the "fitness room" is a small non-air conditioned room with 2 elliptical machines that were evidently assembled by a toddler in the dark whilst it was half asleep and 1 bicycle and weight bench with several free weights. Lastly, if you have a dog, be aware there are only a few streets where dog walking is allowed.
Super grateful to have found a spot in Florida in January, but felt compelled to write this review in case you have options.

My stay at Ja-mar was that of unexpected pleasure,, From Rosie at the Office to the Young men who ran the park and beckoned to the needs of the Residents. There is a feeling of Old country flair and the safety of being back home at grandmas house. The clubhouse and pool area are both sparking Clean, Quiet and a Comfortable setting to relax and unwind, while enjoying the Warm Florida sun. The Daily activities and fun Nite life add to the parks Homelike feeling,, With Bingo, Holiday cookouts, and poolside activities such as swimming pool arobics,, Costume contests , and cookouts including everything from B.B.Q chicken, Burgers and dogs along with a wide variety of Pot-Luck side dishes and Desserts, all add to the Fun and enjoyment of your stay at JA-MAR....Not far and many within walking or biking distance are things like Put-Put golf, Flea Markets and places to cathe your Fresh and Local seafood to throw on the grill while you watch the bright orange Florida sun Melt into the Gulf of Mexico,,, My stay was one I will be talking about for years,, Two thumbs up to Ja-Mar RV Resort

My husband and I reserved at JaMar after our friends checked it out. We have a 30 ft Class A and had no problem either parking ( they escort you to your site and they help you park). The site had ample room for out rig snd two cars in front along with about 8 ft beside the rig for the patio area. They have changed the rules on pets and you can walk them anywhere. They just expect you to pick up after them. There are tons of activities from biking to arts and crafts, bowling, and other activities outside the park and inside. You can go to as many as you want or none. We found everyone to be friendly. I find it funny that many complain about things but don’t stop to realize what a good value the park is. We looked down south near Ft Myers and not only was there a wait list, rates were between $2,000-3,000 /month. If you want more room picnic tables etc. pick out a park that has those amenities. Don’t criticize because you did not do your due diligence. The park has already filled up for next season so I guess they are going something right.

Where do I start. Lived their for five years. Was a fulltime resident. The first two years were awsome. However they take alot of amenities away in the summer. Never got in trouble. One phone call no warning we got called to the office and the people I hung with all got evicted. If the part timers don't like you your gone. Then they try and say you can't sell a unit you bought. I am very disappointed in them. They say their Christians, however when I begged to stay and not get evicted they still sad no. I apologized to the SNOW BIRDS because heaven forbid you disrupt their winter home. I felt like a second class citizen. They shut down our fire pits but the people right across the street had one going. They said we were loud, but alot of people were loud. They tried telling me I couldn't voice my opinions on my own Facebook account. Definitely NOT the place to go if your looking to have fun. This is the place fun goes to die. But if you have lots of money and are part time your golden. I definitely will be more cautious where I live now .

When we arrived in Florida we stayed at a couple of parks while searching for a long term campground. We came into the Ja-mar Park in Oct of 2017. At first it seemed to be ok. We have been trying to buy a house and we have had a tough time finding one and getting financing. We thought we had a home and told the park upfront about our plans to move. Giving no departure date. Due to not being sure of a date.
When the purchase of the home did not work out. We went in to let them know that we would be staying.
We were told that they had given our site away. Which now means an unnecessary address change. We were given a few choices of other lots to move too. We looked at other sites and chose one that was near where we were already located. Went in 2 days later to tell them we wanted to put our name on that lot. We were informed that it was taken along with 10 0ther lots the day before this.
We were treated very rudely and was told that our staying at this park was not going to work.
We had paid our 6th month rent and was looking forward the the decrease in price beginning the 7th month. Guess they wanted the higher payment so they figured out a way to get us out.
We have found another RV resort and are looking forward to a nicer place to stay.
Ja-mar is a very clickish park. If you are not from New York, or some other Northern state. You are not treated like part of the park. I do not recommend this park for any stay long or short.
Also, it is located on the busiest part of 19 there is. Very hard to get around in the area. Lots of accidents on this road. The traffic is horrible....
We are not located in a very nice park with friendly people and very open and large spaces. So thank you Starla for your help in getting us out of your park!!

We checked out Ja-Mar after we were told by 2 other parks our German Shepherd wasn't welcome due to her breed. Our pup was welcome here! This is a very pet friendly park! Certain streets are designated no pets and that is awesome for people that don't enjoy pets! I get it and am not offended or bothered by it at all. They had a pet parade this year for folks with pets! Awesome! Ja-Mar is the most honest run park in Florida you will find. The spaces here are just like all of the other parks down here. They simply aren't any tighter than anywhere else. We have a 40' fifth wheel and I navigated it into my spot in the back of Ja Mar south with no issues. If people are having a hard time getting in and out of these sites, maybe they ought to reconsider operating a vehicle that size on the highways! I have seen lots of big rigs coming and going with no problems. Year round residents near me are friendly and nice. Other transients are the same. We have met some really nice people here and the staff/ownership is top shelf. We signed up for next winter and can't wait to come back!

People in the office are wonderfully friendly BUT spaces are very difficult to get into and you will need someone from there to help. Everyone is crammed in much too close. No picnic tables at your site. Told them we had a dog but they put is in a "no pet' area because that was all they had open. Every time I took the dog out someone yelled at me. Very uncomfortable.!

I’m sure this park is liked by many but just not for us. My wife referred to it as “Geriatric Central”, we’re in our early 50’s but nowhere near ready to slow down as much as the majority of the residents have. They have functions daily and encourage
participation but it’s not our thing. The park is nice and clean. The sites are by far the smallest we’ve ever had. Our awning was touching our neighbors. They claim to have wifi but forget to mention its only a small zone hotspot at the front of the park. Certainly not good for those relying on emails and such. Although I’m Canadian doesn’t mean we speak French. Our street had 2 other English speaking couples, very francophone.
