Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter offers guests a slice of New Orleans charm, complete with a jazz-infused atmosphere that earns high marks for authenticity. While the resort's quaint locale is frequently celebrated for its scenic qualities and ease of access to Disney World, some guests feel the cost doesn't quite match the value, despite perks like refillable mugs and efficient transportation. Rooms are generally found to be tidy and well-appointed, though occasional noise and housekeeping inconsistencies are noted. Service is often described as warm and responsive, with the themed pool and delightful beignets standing out as memorable amenities.

While checking out the Xmas decorations, this is one of our favorite Disney resorts to visit; during our December stay in Orlando.
The Mardi Gras themed Xmas trees in the entrance lobby area are always a joy; as are the ornate mask displays at the Sassagoula Floatworks.
The grounds and buildings are subtly adorned, so the wrought-iron railings, fountains, and overall architecture still evoke a feeling of the actual Louisiana location (though more manicured and sanitized).
On this visit: sitting outside, enjoying a beignet sundae from Scat Cats cafe, and listening to piped in Cajun music was an added bonus to the experience.
Even if one is not lodging here, this location is certainly worth a visit; for exploring, strolling, browsing and enjoying.

We stayed here for 2 weeks for our honeymoon. The resort staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful - they answered all questions and really went out their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable.

What we especially liked was the fact you can turn down room cleaning and get $120 for two weeks, this was a great treat and allowed us to have more spending money in the parks.

Our room was nice, we had good wifi, a good hairdyer and the bed was super comfortable. Our only complaint was we were on the ground floor of block 4 and every morning from 5am onwards we could hear the lorry unloading food to the canteen. We also didn't have a lot of natural light in our room.

I would recommend asking for an end room (more windows and natural light).

The food was good, the best meal was the Voodoo Chicken. I would highly recommend.

The pool was clean, we did have some visits from ducks from the lake, but the staff made sure the animals and people didn't get hurt or interfere with each other.

We also really enjoyed having a boat take us to Disney Springs instead of taking the bus everywhere.

The only downside to the resort (and this may not be the resorts fault) but the frequency of the buses were awful. For example, you need to get to Hollywood Studios before 8am to get on a Rise of the Resistance Boarding pass and the bus would show up late or not have an arrival time - we ended up taking a lyft to get there on time.

We would also be left waiting 30 minutes at the parks (when we were super tired) for a bus to come back. But we were always the first stop compared to those at Riverside.

I would recommend this hotel. It was clean, safe and a lovely atmosphere.

Thanks for sharing this 5-star review of your stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, where you can revel in the romance and pageantry of New Orleans’s historic French Quarter. And if you're wanting to experience even more southern charm, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is just a short walk away! I am truly delighted to know you received the highest level of Guest service during your visit, and that you found our Cast Members here to be "amazing, super friendly and helpful." We understand that the Resort experience is a big part of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, so we certainly want our Guests to feel welcome and right at home while they're with us. And great choice utilizing the Service Your Way program - I hope you bought something fun with the Disney gift card you received! I do apologize for the infrequency you experienced with our complimentary bus transportation, but please know I will share that with our Transportation Leadership. Based on your review, it seems overall this Resort was a perfect fit for you, from the recently updated accommodations, to the convenience of offering complimentary watercraft transportation. We're already "jazzed" to welcome you back to French Quarter for another visit in the future, Chloe! Kim Disney Social Reviews

We staid at Port Orleans French Quarter for one week in February. Myself, my wife, two boys (4 & 5) and my parents all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our rooms were first class - the cleanliness, facilities and size were all exactly what was required. We had adjacent rooms which made things much easier for us, with our boys being able to go backwards and forwards between the rooms as they pleased. The layout of the resort is great, our rooms were just a short walk from the restaurant. My parents and the children went for an early morning walk around the immaculate grounds through to the river every morning while we got ready which they loved.
The restaurant was great and the meal plans (quick service dining) was ideal for us, using credits for breakfast every day and some days for an evening meal aswell. The best thing about the restaurant however was how friendly and keen to help the chefs were with our boys allergies. This is something thats not common in England but to be made to feel at ease with this (our boys have a number of allergies between them) just made our experience so much less stressful. The dairy/wheat/gluten/egg free pancakes and waffles were a massive hit every morning for breakfast!
We were a bit worried about how easy the transportation to the parks might be but the bus services worked without any hitches at all. We got to the parks when we wanted and never had to wait long for one to take us back to our hotel.
Overall I couldn't recommend the hotel enough.

We arrived early in the day and after waiting in a very long line at check in was told we would receive a text when our room was ready. The person handling check in was neither pleasant nor friendly. We did receive the text, returned to the hotel from the park and went to an incredibly dirty room with food all over, liquor bottles and garbage everywhere. Went back to check in and after another 30 minutes and another not very helpful person had a new room, which at least looked like it was surface cleaned.

There was a layer of dust on the phone and along the top of the TV. Upon check in, we opted to not have the room cleaned for a $20 gift card. We could call for trash removal and clean towels. We thought we would try it.

Food was dreadful, there is a cafeteria place with cold food, previously cooked. Ate there once and it was a mistake. The bar near the pool was good, but expensive for drinks.

The room is small and very noisy hearing everything from the people in adjacent rooms. They kept us up at night and were up and yelling early in the morning. The walls are paper thin but the heat/air conditioning is so noisy, I made sure to run it to hear that and not those noisy neighbors.

I did receive a $10 gift certificate, but not the $20 promised at check in for the non-cleaning. I then went to the desk upon check out to see what the story was. It was another 30 minute wait, it seemed like everyone ahead of me had a problem and each person at the desk had to make calls to resolve issues. When finally my turn, the person had no idea about the $20, first she said it was $10 then said I had a gift certificate for $10 and the other $10 was deducted from the bill. At this point, I just wanted to get out of there.

Our next stop was at Universal Orlando and what a difference, a pleasant, helpful check in with no wait and a beautiful room, clean and large with no noise.

We stayed here for 12nights after starting our Disney trip in a Deluxe resort. We thought there would be a slight difference in the quality of service and standard of the rooms but we were just as happy as we had been in the Deluxe hotel. On check in the cast member offered us a gift card if we opted out of daily housekeeping and we jumped at the chance! We would spend most of our time out of the room so there was no need for a daily service. She also assured us that we could call down for fresh towels or for someone to take away rubbish when ever we needed. The room was spotless when we arrived and the bed was so comfortable. The selection of small bites and meals available in the dining hall was perfect and being able to get the boat to Disney Springs so easily gave us so many other dining opportunities. The pool was busy with lots of families with kids but we always managed to get 2 sunloungers together when we went down and the cast members doing entertainment everyday was fun to watch. We didn’t have any issue getting the bus to any of the theme parks, no long waits or standing going to or from the parks. We would definitely pay the same to stay here at this resort again! Value for money was exceptional for how we found it.

With so many wonderful properties to explore here, I like your idea of staying at more than one Resort during your vacation. Though comparing a Moderate and a Deluxe Resort can be tricky, I’m thrilled your stay here was magical all the same. From receiving a gift card in exchange for opting out of daily Housekeeping service to exploring Disney Springs nearby as well as the Doubloon Lagoon, it sounds like you had quite a fun time here. I hope we get to welcome you back for another getaway soon! AJ Disney Social Reviews

Have just returned from our 2nd visit to this hotel and like our 1st visit 2 years ago we had a great time. The room we stayed in this time had a much nicer decor and had laminate flooring instead of carpet. I love how easy it is to get to the food court, pool, park laundry etc no matter what block you stay in. My nephew loved coming home from the park in the afternoons as he loved the games by the pool and it was nice for us to chill for an hour. Our room was always kept clean and we decided to decline the offer of a gift card as we like having our room cleaned up and beds nicely made when we get in after a busy day at the parks . We only used the food court for snacks and breakfast but as we were up really early we avoided the rush thankfully only on the day we went to the water park and got up later the food court was extremely busy so we used to just grab an early snack. We loved using the boats to Disney springs which was just as well as my only gripe is that we waited 40 minutes one late afternoon for a bus and were just about to give up when one arrived. I would definitely recommend and return to this hotel should we stay in Disney again.

Our rooms here have recently been updated, and I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed all the changes! One of the greatest attributes of this property is its small size and the fact that no matter where your room is located, you’re just a short walk away from the lobby, transportation and pool. That relaxing boat ride to Disney Springs is always a big plus. Thanks so much for your wonderful recommendation, and we can’t wait to welcome you back again! Quinn Disney Social Reviews

This was our fourth time staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. We love this resort! The resort is smaller than the other resorts we have stayed at, everything is a close walk. We stayed in building 3, which is close to the main building. The room had everything that we needed: dorm size refrigerator, large television, hair dyer, ceiling fan, table with 2 chairs, a large dresser with 3 drawers and a safe. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were nice. There is no clock in the room, so take one with you if you want to have one. There are plenty of plugs in the rooms.

The pool is very nice and it has a water slide. There is a splash area for smaller kids and a hot tub close to the pool area.

We decided to do the program where you get gift cards in lieu of housekeeping. I wasn't sure about doing this, but it was fine. Any time we needed towels or anything else it was brought to us promptly. I do suggest stopping by the front desk to ask for what you need. One night I called for towels from our room and we didn't get them.

We had a great stay and will definitely stay here again!

We have been to WDW many times, but never stayed at French Quarter. What a great place! So convenient to everything, not huge and impersonal, and a very comfortable, newly renovated room. Housekeeping staff was very efficient, the resort itself was quiet and small enough so that it's not necessary to walk too far for anything including transportation to the parks or a quick bite to eat. The boat to Disney Springs runs frequently from the nearby dock, and buses to the park are close by. Great stay, and we highly recommend this place! The only reason we would not give this resort 5 stars is that there is no full service restaurant on the premises. There is a food-court type restaurant, and the offerings were good (not great) but a restaurant on the premises such as Boatwrights (at Port Orleans Riverside) would have been nice. There is, however, a Jazz Bar, and entertainment there was fabulous!

Thanks for stopping by to share your thoughts on Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter! I'm thrilled to hear your first time at this lovely Resort was as magical as can be, and that you loved so many different aspects about it. After all, what's not to love about the charming atmosphere, beautiful grounds, and the overall location of the Resort itself? On the other hand, I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with the lack of a Table-Service Restaurant. If you decide to come back for another stay, it may benefit you to keep in mind that the sister Resort, Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, has one that you're able to dine at as well; it's just a quick stroll or boat ride away! The hotel is very nice and is in a great location. The service was questionable. It took
1 1/2 days to change a battery in our room safe. Was told we could utilize the safe deposit in the main lobby. Why not just replace the battery.
The weekend maid service comes very late in the afternoon. We we wnt back to our roo to rest the room was still dirty. When the maid came we had to leave the room.
When we went for a meal in the food court the cooks were stading around talking to each other as we waited to place our order

After many, many years and a lot of saving my mother and I chose this hotel for our first ever visit to Disney world. We were not disappointed. We arrived at about 4:00pm and only had to wait about 10 minutes to be checked in. We were checked in by a lovely lady we think is called Kaitlyn. When she learnt it was our first ever visit she gave us badges to let the staff in and out of resort to identify we might need a bit of help, which was very handy and a lovely keepsake.

We were in one of the renovated rooms. It was very clean and plenty big enough for how much we used it. The only problem we found is that you don't get much natural light in the room. We had a corner room which meant we had 2 Windows and still had to put the light on most days. We found having the outlets with usb ports was very handy if you had forgotten your travel adapter. The aircon worked very well and so did the heating element of it as we found out in our freezing cold 2nd week. There was a weekly maintence check which was done quickly when you were in the room.

French quarters food court offers a big option of food to say it's the smallest resort out of all Disney property. The selections are good but if you're not a big meat eater then there isn't too many options. The salads are huge and very nice for when you want a break from cheese burgers. For the vast part the food court and service is good. The food is freshly cooked. The only bad part is that when you arrive and the food court is busy you're looking at a 20 minute wait for your burger to be cooked. When you've been round the parks all day this isn't really a wait that you want. On the reverse, like I said it is freshly made though. The refill stations are some of the best as you can personalise your drink selection.

As the resort is the smallest, the buses run very frequently. The only down side to the buses is when you're waiting for the bus to leave the park the French Quarter bus seems to be one of the longest waits out of anyone else. This obviously isn't the hotels fault though.

All in all I would highly recommend French Quarter as you definitely get your value for money and the service is top notch!

Well thanks for stopping on bayou to share this kind review, darlin’! From the smooth sounds of Scat Cat’s Club to the sweet warmth of a fresh beignet, the magic of Mardi Gras is found at Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter! I’m just thrilled to learn Kaitlyn reflected the good ol’ southern hospitality we are known for, and appreciate you taking the time to recognize her! We’ll be sure to thank her kindly for leaving such a wonderful impression on your overall stay. While it is a bit disappointing to learn you experienced a longer-than-expected delay while waiting on your soul food, I have some great advice for next time the bayou beckons. Instead of ordering your food right at the counter, we now offer Mobile Ordering via the My Disney Experience app. All you have to do is pick what you want, press that nifty little button, and our Cast Members can get started on your delicious meal before you even arrive. Isn’t that just lovely? We hope to see y’all again soon! Kenzi Disney Social Reviews

There are shuttles that you can book through Mears and Sunshine Coaches that go from MCO to all DisneyWorldResorts. We used an Uber to get to the Resort, it was quick and good value. Sorry but I don't know if there is anything going on at the resort for new year. Have a look in My Disney Experience.
