Nestled on the beachfront, the Riptide Oceanfront Hotel garners praise for its direct beach access and stunning views, with the added bonus of live music enhancing the vibrant atmosphere. While guests appreciate the prompt service and friendly staff, opinions on cleanliness and room conditions vary, with some noting pristine areas and others pointing to maintenance and hygiene shortcomings. Although the hotel's amenities and beach proximity are a hit, the high costs and additional fees during peak times have not gone unnoticed.

Wonderful trip with extremely accommodating staff. We flew in earlier than expected and they were able to let us check in early, had great accommodations from beach towels and chairs to borrow, location and comfort. We were only there for three days but we are definitely making time to staying longer next time. Our room was comfortable, had all basic amenities with a kitchenette, it was perfect for a beach vacation. The live music was a nice touch and is done at 8:30 so we didn’t have music late into the night, if we wanted to stay out later everything was with in a 15 minute walk, more restaurants, music and amenities.
Brooke at the front desk was extremely helpful and informative on the area and was willing to give excellent recommendations. Considering it was Presidents’ Day the beach wasn’t overly busy and was clean and had room everyday we were there. On checkout I left my personalized water bottle and they sent it to me with no issues and no charge.

This is our second visit. We enjoy the tiki bar, live music, kind staff, great location and small feel of the hotel. The place is well kept. The only negative, which is a bit of a big one, is our bed was awful. We woke up soar all over both nights. We were in room 14, king bed. If they got new beds we would be back in a flash. They are reasonably priced and another positive is they are considerate when closing down the bar and music at a reasonable time.

Good Day, Thank you for choosing the Riptide Hotel for your vacation spot to Hollywood, Fl! We offer firm beds intended to provide a stable and even surface for our guests to rest on. However upon hearing your experience, we will definitely look into suiting mattress options. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and are glad to hear that aside from this you had an overall great experience! We hope to see you again in the near future! Best, Genesis Reservations

We stay here every year for our anniversary and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed right when they reopened during the covid-19 pandemic and the room was very clean and disinfected properly. We really love this place and the Beach views are fantastic! We have told many friends about it and they thank us all the time for letting them know about such a great place,

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights, and a few other friends also booked separate rooms. The location is great since you can walk right onto the beach. The tiki bar is fun, and the live music was always good. Take note: you are paying over $200/night solely for location, not for the quality of the hotel or the amenities.

Problems:
1. The floor in our room was not clean when we first stepped in. I took my shoes off right away and could feel sand under my feet. I think our room was cleaned once (?) throughout our whole stay, so over the few days we were there, of course we brought sand into the room. It's not pleasant walking around on a dirty bedroom and bathroom floor most of the time. Also, it's difficult getting your feet clean in a shower that hasn't been cleaned and has collected a lot of sand. Each night, I had to wipe my feet off with a towel that I kept next to the bed so that I didn't get sand in the sheets.

2. Our mattress was incredibly old (room #5). It was very stiff and we estimated that it had to have been at least 10 years old. I woke up most mornings with lower back pain.
It really does not cost very much these days to buy a memory foam mattress off Amazon. That would have made a huge difference.

3. Our bathroom was...odd. we figured out that it's HC accessible, which is fine, but it was missing a toilet paper holder of any sort. There were no hooks anywhere in the bathroom, so you couldn't hang your towel or clothing up while you were in the shower. I don't think there was a fan either, and the window is permanently sealed shut, so you can't open it to get air or cut down on the condensation caused by the shower. There was a little window sill where I placed some of my things and I noticed a few additional "residents" sharing our bathroom with us (ants were always hanging out there).

5. There was no lighting near the closet/drawers area so we couldn't see what was in there and just had to rummage around in the dark for our clothing most of the time. (Lighting in the room was very bad).

6. There was a coffee maker but no coffee (and nowhere to get any in the lobby).

4. Not a huge deal, but I'm pretty sure the little couch in the room was broken. It looked kind of dirty so we wouldn't have sat on it anyway, most likely.

In summary, this could be the place for you if you can't find anything for less than $200/night in that location. That's all folks!

Well, let's begin by stating the single good thing about Riptide, it is ocean front. Other than that it is pretty bad. It is very old and outdated. The locks on the doors are keyed, which I have not seen in a hotel in years and they do not work well at all. You will stand at your door and fiddle with the deadbolt lock for minutes until somehow something falls into place and the key turns the lock. The management's explanation was "well you just have to wiggle the key". The website states that housekeeping is available upon request. I requested it for 3 days and finally someone came and swept the floor and took out the trash, oh she did bring fresh towels. The rooms are run down, paint peeling, the bed was quite uncomfortable. The couch was stained and dirty. Our clothes smelled bad after having been in the closet and the drawers. In one area there is sort of a court yard with picnic tables and rusty outdoor grills. There was a planter box filled with dry dead plants and the brick paved floor always had trash scattered about. I definitely recommend staying clear of this joint.

Upon arrival customer service was great, our room was not ready on time and we were given a small discount and drink tickets for the tiki bar. However, once we entered the room it was clear that the pictures of the room are quite deceitful. The bathroom needs a full bleach and intense scrub, or perhaps at this point to be updated. When we asked for new sheets for the room, I suppose my expectation was the sheets would be changed for us, however we were handed new sheets and then changed them ourselves. The location is great, but next time I feel we will be staying at a different resort.

We knew we would be in for a vintage stay, but what we experienced was pretty alarming! Housekeeping seems to be a big problem, as safe was locked, so they obviously don’t check it, silverware had food crusted on it (I went to the store and bought my own), hardly any pans, no ice trays, rusty freezer shelves, stains on back of both bathroom doors, lightbulbs out, and on and on. No hot water in the kitchen sink! Not even warm. It was fine in in bathroom, so that’s where I washed dishes, since they never sent anyone to fix it, after 4 days of calls. Now the heart stopping part, literally: My husband uses a cpap machine and during the night the plug blew, sparked and sudden he could not breath. So, at 3am he was searching for another plug to get back to sleeping with this life saving equipment. Maybe the electrical system needs some attention? Mattress was way too soft and worn, pillows awful. On the bright side, the on-site Tiki Bar was fun, with friendly live singer.
Had the rating been properly done, to reflect the neglect, I would not be writing this, but it was rated over 8, so I didn’t expect such problems. They did refund our parking and resort fee, after I spoke with the housekeeping manager, as she seemed quite upset with our experience. The resort fee is a joke, as internet is inferior, and there is no pool, beach chairs, or free parking. First and last stay.

The room was perfect with everything you need in the kitchen and they even give you beach towels to use. The beds were not the most comfortable but the location was fantastic! Right on the beach and close to the airport. We uber to the grocery and also from the airport which was $7-$15. The tiki bar had beer but no strong liquor as they only have their beer and wine license but they did sell us buckets of beer for $15. This was a perfect weekend getaway spot! We will be back. Oh and they had music EVERY NIGHT :) and not too loud if you were in your room.

Pros: Right on the boardwalk/ocean, has a tiki bar with awesome bartenders and some live entertainment that was very good. That is where it ends.

Cons: The room was very old and smelled. A plug in that smelled like cherries was plugged in for obvious reasons. The paint in the bathroom was peeling off the wall and the door would not close. We were here for 7 days and never received any type of housekeeping services. We ran out of toilet paper and had to go to the office and ask for more. The sign in the bathroom stated that if we wanted clean towels, just leave the dirty ones on the floor. Good thing we didn't since we never received any type of housekeeping services. The place calls themselves a Hotel, they are nothing more than a very old beach Motel that needs some definite upgrades. Upon check out I noticed that we were charged a $105 resort fee. I questioned this and was told that it was for wifi and they used to offer beach chairs but discontinued this due to covid. So why did I still have to pay this? This trip was booked in a hurry and I didn't research other places like I should have.
We loved Hollywood Beach and the Boardwalk and will definitely go back. However, for $224 per night plus resort fees, we will never go back to this Motel. There are much better places to stay and we can always walk to the Tiki bar.

I stayed here one night before sailing out on a cruise. I chose it because it was right on the beach and it was much cheaper than anything near the cruise port.

Everything in this area is older but it is right on the beach and has a fun tiki bar with live music. There's also a boardwalk that goes about 2.5 miles down the beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating when my flight was delayed and I came in right at the time they were closing the front desk for the night.

The location is good because there are a few restaurants in either direction, making it easy to get a bite. Don't expect much past 10 p.m. The town shuts down early and is early to rise.

The bed was comfortable and the room had a kitchenette. You get free parking for one car. Overall, no complaints. It's just a bit older.

If you are staying at the riptide hotel and want to go to the port of Miami I would Uber over to the Tri-Rail station. Once you get off the train you could Uber on over to the port.
