The rooms are full suites (dishes, cookware, etc) with balconies. The rooms are pretty clean, it was clear effort was taken to vacuum couches, floors, and everything else, but the plastic curtains were literally brown with stains from many years of use. The carpets had to be dozens of years old. Brown stain tracks were covered by a runner rug. It was a little disconcerting at first, but the bed and linens were clean and well taken care of, and the rooms were passable and serve their purpose.

The pool and facilities themselves are well taken care of and the price is hard to beat to be this close to the beach. But the location is hard to beat and it serves this hotel well!

Be forewarned the property has an immense list of rules which are undoubtedly from an aging owner that lives on the property that all threaten fines for noncompliance or removing you from the hotel. They include some pretty innocuous things for a beach hotel, but if you're not planning to party, you should be fine.

Long story short: we enjoyed our stay and would come back, but the policies were a bit weird and the rooms are getting pretty old.

excellent value for money. we were in room 301 2 bedroom apartment king bed with 2 singles (very comfortable bed, linen and pillows). king had access to main balcony and a separate balcony too. Overlooking times square view of marina (lovely) from master there was a small view of the sea but mainly looking out over times square towards the beach. Stayed one week ( First week in June) would have loved to have stayed longer. No issue with noise from Times Square. The apartment - large and spotless, excellently maintained / modern. AC worked really well. There is a large sofa bed in the living room if needed. Kitchen ware was basic - all of the essentials were provided, if you are planning on preparing complex dishes or a 6 course meal, forget it. But who does that on holiday anyway! There is a coffee maker (no kettle) but no coffee which I was pleased someone mentioned in an earlier review. This is not an AirBnB there is absolutely nothing in the cupboards. Go to publix prior to arrival.
pool area and hot tub fantastic. wonderful foliage , well maintained. staff cleaning and maintaining outdoor areas consistently. The communal area has a fantastic club room/kitchen by the pool that no one seems to mention.
Staff are competent but not engaging. They have beach towels available and in the parking area (well lighted at night - feels safe) they have on a first come first served basis beach chairs, an umbrella and some kiddies toys that previous guests have left behind.

Excellent place to stay at Fort Myers Beach right in times square area by the pier and walking like 3 mi to the beach. Had the two bedroom suite had the full kitchen washer and dryer. It was clean free parking underneath the garage. Excellent overall. I will stay there again if I come back to Fort Myer beach.

We are locals that came just to support the few business and employees as they rebuild. I would probably give 5 stars if it wasn’t for a owner resident that seemed to be keeping a very close eye on us everywhere we went in the building. To the point of being a nuisance. When we came back to the building after the local bar closed at 8 pm, we found ourselves totally locked out of the building. The owner resident waving at us from her window as we circled the building looking for a way in. Luckily a stairwell gate was bent out of place from the hurricane. If the “owners” don’t want nightly rentals then make it a rule so we are not put into undpsafe situations.

We stayed at Harbor house for seven days and loved every minute of it. The staff was excellent overall, especially our front desk concierge, Nathan. He was amazing. The location was aweome. About half a block from the inlet and two blocks from the beach. Tons of great restaurants within walking distance!
Ameneties were excellent. The suite was very clean and colorful.
We had an amazing time. Definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again!

I write many reviews and I really struggled with this one. The property is in a great location. It does not really function as a hotel. No maid service is provided. The pool area was nice. The room was very small and expensive. I was going to upgrade to a bigger room so I called from the airport. This was my big mistake. The lady on the phone said i could upgrade for $50 a night. I agreed but when I arrived at the property she told me it was $170 a night. i was already paying $550 for two nights (totally not worth this much money) so i told her to just go back to my original reservation. She seemed confused about how to do this so I came down in the morning and talked to the gentleman at the desk. He checked my reservation and told me everything was good and I would not be charged anything additional. We departed on Sunday and I personally handed him the keys. 3 hours later I get a call that they can't check me out because I didn't pay a resort fee of $31 and they didn't have my credit card. I ended up giving them my credit card because i didn't know what else i could do. When I looked at my paperwork it clearly stated the $550 included all fees. Of course I wrote an email to the manager who refused to refund my money. Totally unacceptable. Be very careful if you book at the property.

I would also suggest you take pictures of the room when you arrive. They also charged me $250.00 for a stove top they claimed we broke. I have no way of proving we didn't because I didn't inspect the place and take pictures when we arrived.

I will of course never stay at the Harbour House or recommend it to anyone.

The perfect location is everything for this so called hotel. But it should not be called a hotel with staff that don't understand what service and customer care is all about.

We had been walking all day at the beach an used the pool and hot tub afterwards. After only ten minutes in the bath we feelt that something was wrong when the skin started itching. We went up to the room for a quick shower. Then all hair on our legs was gone... Next morning we also found that our swimwear was bleeched. So we contacted the hotel manager and asked her to investigate the hot tub and stop other people from using it. She promised us to look into it directly. When we came back in the evening it was still a chlorine smell from the hot tub and no sign to warn people from using the hot tub. We went down to the reception again and ask them why nothing was done regarding this issue. After a lot of arguing the reception finally understood the health risk and closed the pool area.

Next day the manager only sad that she did not think it was that big deal. We showed her our bleached legs and swimwear and no response except that they had to call the pool guy. Other families with kids had used the pool area the same day we made the complaint. And all had the same sympthoms with hair loss and bleached legs and swimwear. Lucky that no one was seriously injured.

We got no compensation when we checked out, not even an apology.

This hotel should not be allowed to have a pool area for customers without regular check and quality assurance.

The cleaning staff is un-friendly and even if the promise cleaning three times a week we got it only once a week (stayed for 3-weeks).

If you still want to stay at the hotel I can recommend you to stay away from the rooms towards the restaurant Nervouse Nelly. The kitchen fans was loudly on all day and night with a great fry-smell. You will also get the chance to see the mens restroom in action if you are (un)-lucky.

We will never come back to Harbour house. We love Fort Myers Beach very much and its a great place to stay at when visiting South West Florida. Have to find another place to stay at...

We stayed in rm 212 - 2 bed/2 bath with full kitchen for 2 nights this past weekend for my birthday celebration! This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel and for the most part, we enjoyed our stay! There were a couple of issues that prevented me from giving this stay a better than "Average" rating. The main issue we had was with the beds and pillows in both bedrooms! Our mattress was so soft, saggy and uncomfortable that my lower back is still aching today as I write this review! My husband and I just replaced our 10 year old mattress at home for this very same reason. It is so worn out and creaked with every move we made. I was out of bed each morning by 6:00 am because I just could not stand tossing and turning any longer!! When we would get up from the bed you could see the depression in the mattress where we had been sleeping and we are not overly large/heavy people, just average size, but these mattresses are in serious need of replacement. My sister and her fiance stayed in the second bedroom and found their bed to be the same way. My husband and I had brought our own pillows from home thankfully, because the pillows supplied were very flat and lumpy! The rest of the room was as expected, it was clean and decorated very nice. However, our room was not very well stocked like most hotels are. There were no coffee packets, no creamer, or sugar provided. We finally found the dish soap that was located in a soap dispenser installed on the top of the kitchen sink, we didn't know it was there in the beginning! There was no dish cloth provided so we just used a washcloth from the bathroom, which, by the way, the towels and washcloths were very thin and scratchy, no plush there at all! We had a stack-able washer and dryer in the kitchen closet, however there was no laundry soap provided, so we were not able to use the machines unless we wanted to make a trip to the store for soap. Overall our stay was fine, nothing extra special, but fine!! We love the location and had some really good food at Nervous Nellie's/Ugly's right across the street!! We had a great time fishing right across the street from the hotel and behind Nervous Nellie's on a pier right there! We chose to stay here because of the availability of the 2 bed/2 bath, but the price was not anything special, this room was $212.00 per night, tax included with our AAA discount!! I'm not sure if we'll stay here again anytime soon, we came away from this stay thinking it was just okay and maybe we could do better somewhere else!

Thank you for feedback, it is always helpfull to hear how we are doing, good and bad alike. I would like to comment on a couple of the issues you listed above. We are aware of the mattress issues and they are getting replaced soon. As for the coffee, sugar, and creamer, we do not offer them in the unit but we do make coffee in the community room every morning. We do have laundry soap available in the front office, for your convenience . We always want our guests to leave with an excellent experience and hope you will come back and see us again. Thank you for your time.

The rooms, outdoor spaces and décor of the harbor House Inn are bright, fun and well appointed. However, when we made our reservation we were sent an email , not thanking us or welcoming us, but providing the list of rules we would need to sign on check in..in a very curt tone. There were lots of rules. While I understand the need for rules, a better management team would find a way to make the whole thing a bit more friendly and less aggressive. There were more rules posted in our room. However, our room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. there is a private covered parking garage. The hotel is in a good spot for walking to the beach and beachfront shops, restaurants, etc. and the trolley stops there often throughout the day. We had a nice balcony with a dining set and a sliver of a view of the bay. It is very important to know that on the bayside of the hotel you are face to face with a very large, very busy restaurant/bar and you are directly under the bridge. The noise level is high. It starts around 6 am with delivery trucks air braking , idling , slamming open the back, dropping dollies on the ground, throwing down boxes, talking loud to be heard over the idle, this goes on every morning for several hours, it is then replaced by the trolley buses which stop outside about every half hour, all day. Around the noon, the bar cranks up the music and this continues until about 11 pm. . If you are looking for a fun, weekend on the beach, you might just love the noise and bustle and people watching opportunities. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful get away I would suggest you look elsewhere.

Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback. We apologize if our rules email appeared curt as that is certainly not our intention! You should have received two emails, the first of which should have been your confirmation email which thanks you for choosing to stay with us and welcomes you to the property. It also includes details about your deposit, rates, and dates as well as your confirmation number. The email including our rules and policies should have come after your confirmation. We sincerely apologize if our tone with the email was misconstrued as anything but positive. Our policies are in place to protect our guests and to make sure your stay with us is as relaxing and hassle-free as possible. In short, the no nonsense tone of the policies page along with our enforcement keeps the riff raff out. We hope that you understand that we take noise complaints very seriously here at Harbour House. Our management team and board have been working with neighboring properties as well as the city of Fort Myers Beach to mitigate noise levels in the downtown area. Delivery trucks at neighboring restaurants are supposed to shut off their trucks if it is before a reasonable hour. Needless to say they have not been doing this, as you can attest. The city has posted up signs stating the policies and with proper enforcement I believe we are making some progress. Nervous Nellies, the restaurant across from us, closes at 10:00 PM. They have been extremely gracious with us in keeping their outdoor music down to a reasonable decibel starting at 9:00 PM. The only thing that we have no sway over are the trolleys which do stop out front every thirty to forty-five minutes. Unfortunately, past a certain time in the morning the noise is just part of daily life in the heart of downtown Fort Myers Beach. Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us. We hope that we will be able to accommodate you and your family again in the future.

I recently stayed two nights at your facility. I must say it was the worst night's sleep I have ever had at a resort. I say sleep, but that is a stretch because there was no sleep involved. The first issue is the fact that the facility locks down at 10:00 PM with no one to assist with needs after that hour. Although there is an emergency contact number, they were totally worthless. Our issue was the room next door, 216, was having an all night party. This was not just confined to the room. The party was in the hallway. I like to have a good time as much as the next person but this was beyond ridiculous. There were at least 15 people doing cheers, running up and down the hallway, playing loud music and continually slamming their door. In fact when we left for the airport the next morning, the party was still in full swing. At 2:00 AM we called the emergency number. We to a "we will come in 25 minutes" We never heard a break in the party action. We called the police, no response. At 3:30 AM we called again with a nasty response that they came earlier and no one lodged any complaints. I am not sure what they called our phone call to them. We were told it would take another 30 minutes this time to come back over. Again, no break in the action at all. I have many friends that travel to Ft. Myers every year. This is the last place I would tell anyone to ever stay.

Go over the bridge and turn right in times square area and then go up to the first Street take a right and it's three blocks down on the right hand side and park underneath the garage or underneath the hotel. Or you could take the long way around from the airport and come in from estero boulevard going through Bonita springs.
