We stayed at Avania while visiting family in Santa Barbara. The room was clean, the free breakfast better than others we've had, and the staff so friendly and helpful. Gabriel was ever vigilant during breakfast and quickly restocked the eggs and fruit when needed. He immediately cleaned up the coffee I spilled and didn't make me feel like a clumsy dolt. At first we thought the location was a little dodgy, but the first morning realized it was just a block from the beach and a nice restaurant/retail stretch (no chains). The reason I'm not giving the inn 5 stars is that it could use a face lift--especially the carpeting in hallways. Minor flaw, though. Will definitely return.

Great staff, Location, and comfy beds older property for the price. But the staff makes up for it; came to Santa Barbara for a comedy show at the sb bowl Daniel at the front desk was great giving us a feel for the location of the bowl and how far away it was. he also recommended the idea of taking a uber as the parking situation at the bowl could get complicated. Good Move !!! as parking was packed he also mentioned a few thing about the nightlife in Santa Barbara and few places to go to after the show.
beds were comfy and as we had a 3rd floor room cant really complain about any noises also their pool is heated so we were able to get a swim inn..

Planned a family trip to the Santa Barbara zoo and stayed here. When I first walked in to check in, the lobby area smelled really good and I was greeted by Michael who was very nice and helpful.
The room was very spacious and clean. We took a room with two queen beds, cause it’s easier with the kids. What I really liked was how one of the beds was actually tucked away in a little pocket of the room.
Our room overlooked the pool and jacuzzi area. It looked so well taken care of and really nice. We wanted to get in, but it was a little to cold. Next time for sure!
That night we were able to take a very short walk to the downtown area for dinner and drinks. It was awesome that so many amazing restaurants and even the beach were in walking distance.
In the morning, they had a very Covid friendly to go breakfast and coffee. While walking back to my room, I was greeted by two different house keeping staff with a very genuine, “good morning,” and a smile.
When it was time to check out, I walked into the lobby with a very rude customer. Michael was working again. I stood to the side and listened in for a minute and it sounded to me like Michael was attempting to help the customer with something that was totally the customers fault in the booking process through an outside company.
Although it was not the hotels fault, Michael was still trying to help the customer. Michael quickly saw that I was standing to the side and gave me kind and quick instructions on check out before continuing to help the other customer.

We stayed three nights at the Avania Inn and our experience could not have been better.
It is an older property but it is clean and very well maintained.
The lobby is beautiful.
The “grab-and-go” continental breakfast was well stocked and organized.
The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly.
The Inn was full during our stay but our room was always quiet,
Our room was on the third floor, and although it wasn��t large, it felt roomy. The bed was very comfortable, the shower worked well, and we took advantage of the refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker provided. It also had a very large balcony which was ideal to enjoy the breeze and ocean air.
Most importantly, the location of the Avania is ideal. It is a very short walk to dining and shopping at the marina, the Santa Barbara Pier & Stearn’s Wharf, and State Street. And it is only a 10 minute drive to the Santa Barbara Zoo.
Our stay definitely exceeded our expectations and we look forward to returning!

This is the second time i stayed at this hotel because i had such a great experience the first time four years back. The first time i stayed with my mom during my spring break. The location is very easy to find off of HWY 101 and a very short walk to the beach and restaurants. For my second visit i brought my mom and sister to celebrate my sister's and my birthdays in November. The room was cozy and included a porch. The food was good and i was craving the waffles from last time. The staff working (some were new) but they were very nice and helpful. The following staff were extremely helpful since the moment i walked in Glory, Jacob, and Mercedes. They all went out of their way to help me with anything that i need, whether it was directions to the hot tub, additional food that was out, or directions. The extra bonus was getting free waters upon my arrival and the map of the city. I really enjoyed my stay here, plus having my car parked in front of my room was an added bonus. Thank you again for such a great stay and a memorable time with my family in Santa Barbara.

After a long ride in HWY 1 , we arrived at Avania Inn nearly 9:30pm , We were greeted with a smile as we were checking the girl explained the amenities and time of breakfasts told in that our room was on the first floor just a few steps away from the front entrance, We settled down had a great night sleep on a all new renovated room, the next morning we walked a few steps and had a SUPER breakfast and found Samantha that greeted with a smile she even went as far as to indicate how the waffle machine worked.
I must say that this is one of the best Hotels Inn that I’ve stayed, if in the area again will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Avania Inn for one night. The room was clean, and the bed and pillows were super comfy.
It's a bit motel-style though but it definitely has a good price/quality ratio.
The continental breakfast was free and pretty good with fresh fruits, pancakes, bagels etc.
The hotel is also in a pretty good location to walk onto the main street and the beach. And parking was free.

Took my family with young children and older parents and we all had a wonderful experience. Customer service was stellar, free breakfast and being right across from the beach was definitely a plus. Michael, Jake and staff were super nice, accommodating and readily available when needed. They are currently renovating parts of the hotel. We were able to stay at one of the newly renovated rooms and the staff shared they will be working on all the rooms, lobby and pool area. Pretty excited for when they are done and will definitely bring back the family.

Really nice hotel very close to State Street but you‘ve still got the piece for a comfortable sleep.
When I was arriving today I got told that the hotel will not be fully booked so I asked if I can get a room in a very quiet area (no neighbors if possible) and I got an upgrade to a room with a balcony which is just amazing as this is not usual for me to have that in America for that price! Normally I always stay ar rhose typical hotel/motel chains but at this trip i needed to watch my money a little and I am so so glad that I found this hotel. Location-Top; rooms-couldn’t ask for a better one, staff-amazing.
If you‘re going to stay here ask for Jesús he is doing his very best to accommodate all the wishes you have! :)

Our stay at Avania Inn was exceptional in every way. The location was walking distance to the beach and only 1 mile to downtown Santa Barbara and State street. The place was super clean and the staff was great. Michael Green assisted us at the front desk and was very helpful and accommodating. Whatever we needed, he made sure we got it and were satisfied. They had freshly baked cookies for guests that they offered to us after checkin and a heated pool that made it all the more wonderful. We had a great experience and I highly recommend Avania Inn.
