At V Palm Springs, many guests commend the hotel for its cleanliness, particularly the immaculate rooms and pool area, though a note of caution is raised over an unexpected cleaning fee. The hotel offers a range of amenities that have impressed travelers, including comfortable rooms with kitchenettes and a relaxing poolside bar. While some guests find the hotel to be a good value with friendly staff, others have encountered issues with service and unexpected charges. The rooms elicit diverse reactions, with some guests finding them spacious and well-maintained, whereas others suggest they could use a refresh. The hotel's atmosphere is generally seen as laid-back, though some suggest it could use a touch of rejuvenation. Guests are divided on the location, with some appreciating its proximity to downtown and others desiring a less remote setting.

Really great location - same strip as all the trendy hotels such as Ace Hotel, L'Horizon, Parker, Villa Royale and more. They had some construction on the main pool during our stay and they hence moved all guests (including families) to the adults-only pool, which defeated the purpose of having a quiet adults-only pool and didn't provide any compensation for the inconvenience.

The rooms are modern, the maintenance staff was great, and bathroom toiletries were also impressive for the price (Malin + Goetz soap)

The DJ would be very loud from main pool and made you feel like you were at a European club, not a vacation.

The hotel is not worth the price. Our unit had an air conditioner that would turn on and off with a loud sound that would wake us up. When using the the app for an iron, we got no reply back. You had to request additional towels. Rooms do not get cleaned daily, you need to request it and pay an additional fee. The only good thing was the location, its near the airport and up-town palms springs.

The rooms were updated and very trendy. Loved the balcony but wish there was an additional chair so my husband and I could both sit outside together. Our coffee maker was broken and it was difficult to get a new one. We had to wait to message someone on the app because all the representatives were busy. We talked to two different people through the app before we finally got someone to bring a new coffee maker to the room. The essentials closet was never fully stocked whenever we went to get new towels, coffee, or coffee cups. We ran into two different situations where parking was not available for hotel guests. We even asked Valet and their solution was to park on the street. We had to park a block away and walk. Hotel guests should always have first priority over restaurant guests. There were no pool towels at either pool one evening. The bartender offered to bring some out but after an hour of waiting, there still weren’t pool towels. The only friendly staff we did interact with was the housekeeping staff. They were very kind and always welcoming. The valet, restaurant servers, and bartenders were not welcoming. There was a garbage truck that came by at 6am one morning and made a ruckus. They definitely need to move the garbage away from the hotel rooms if that’s a regular occurrence. There was a DJ at the restaurant Friday night which was also pretty noisy. That didn’t bother us as much as the drunk people yelling at the pool deck and down the hallways. We saw two people who looked like security guards walk from behind the restaurant to a car and start drinking Modelos. As someone who’s a manager at a hotel, I thought the overall experience was extremely hindered by multiple things going wrong. I feel like majority of the issues could have been resolved if there were Front Desk staff members on-site. It would have been much easier to contact them rather than waiting to message someone through the app or receiving empty promises from the bartenders. The price for the hotel was great but the overall experience was hindered by no parking, limited customer service, and the noisy property.

I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. It’s a huge headache all around. Most disappointing is the contactless approach. Everything at this hotel is digital. You have to use your phone for everything. Check in, getting your key, requests, room issues. Then, multiple different numbers text you back, sometimes not for 15/20 minutes. There is minimal to zero staff on premise. The walls of the room are paper thin. I could hear the people above me everytime they walked and the baby in the room next door. The music by the pool was blasting until 10PM (Constant Coachella music ) So I had to text the number to have them shut it off since all rooms face the pool. The restauraunt on site is super limited for dinner options. I needed a wine glass for my room and they gave me attitude and seemed hesitant to provide it. I don’t get the issue of requesting a wine glass when you’re paying $200/night. They advertise lemon water stations on the app, which are actually just two water filters in front of public restrooms. There’s no concierge or front desk so don’t even think about getting advice on restaurants or explorations. Also there is no coffee machine in the room nor a place to get one before the pool bar opens. This is basically a glorified air bnb and a bad value for the amount paid.

Here are the few pros about the place:
Great location
Both pools and hot tubs are beautiful.
The bartenders were lovely and attentive. Great cocktails.
The premises are well kept and extremely clean.

I absolutely love this hotel! Very nice rooms with a patio / balcony that over looks the pool and palm trees. There is a swing chair on the balcony which is perfect for enjoying a cocktail and watching the sunset. The pool is definitely where I spent the majority of my time! Love the ambiance, the heated pool, hot tub, swanky fire pits and the cabanas! Elixir pool bar makes incredible spicy margaritas and you must try their famous salt and vinegar waffle fries! Yum! It was great to stay with Sonder because everything is contactless and everything you need is on the app. No need to go through the check in process. The rooms were very clean and the beds were so comfortable. It’s awesome to see that they have refillable shampoos and conditioners instead of single use plastic. Save the environment! They provided a QR code and info sheet in the room with great recommendations for local attractions and restaurants. And did I mention how they are super close to downtown!?. This hotel is the best of the best , very instagrammable and the perfect place to escape for a weekend! I cannot wait to come back!

The weekend rate is around $360/night, but you get way less than what you pay for here. Upon arrival, checking in was confusing as there isn’t a clear front desk. Our room had clearly not been cleaned. There was a full coffee cup on the nightstand, an UNFLUSHED toilet, trash in the cans...They moved us to another room thankfully but the new room’s shower curtains had mildew on them and the bathroom floor was sticky. They really need to improve their cleaning standards: one of the pool towels I got was stained. The walls are thin so you hear EVERYTHING. They have a code system to get in and out of rooms and the pools which is super unsanitary given COVID. Sonder should switch to cards. At some point I went to the bar (because there is no front desk UGH) to ask for plastic utensils and a plate so I could eat a snack, and they made me return the plate to the bar or else Id be charged. That’s ridiculous. Why not just pick up the plate in my room later?
Saving graces: the food and drinks are good and the pool is nice.

I've stayed here before it was a Sonder property. It's a nice place, but run like a hostel. There's an upcharge for everything. It's off season and I got upcharged to change my dates. They gave me a 2nd floor room when the picture of the room I booked was clearly main floor, and then they wanted to charge me to switch. I finally found someone on site and they switched for me. No one is at the front desk, or anywhere. For service, you have to text or call someone in Boston... They don't clean the rooms during your stay, and if you want your bathroom cleaned or anything else it's a $45 charge on top of a $175 -200 room. I stayed 3 days and I would have liked my bathroom freshened once...I like that it has a bar and a restaurant, the pool area is great, there's an adult pool and a family pool, but the service is worse than a motel, and the extra charges are ridiculous for off season, or anytime.

Peter J wrote a review Mar 2022
Upon arrival, I attempted to enter my room with the code provided but it didn't work. The front desk employee was not able to assist, nor was the mobile app chat service or phone call service. None of the codes worked and it wasn't until 45 minutes later that a physical key to my room was provided. I stood outside on the balcony the entire time, guarding my personal possessions as I was hoping to avoid having to take everything back to my car (100 yards away down a winding flight of stairs).

The gate to the pool, however, was only operable by a code and, since none of the codes provided worked, I had to wait until someone from house-keeping could open the gate for me, each time. That often took up to 5 minutes every time I had to exit and return the pool area. Since there were no toilets in the pool area, I had to go back to my room and then wait to be granted access back into the pool.

A bottle of wine was offered as a gesture of thanks, but that never arrived, even after reminding the front desk of this offer.

Ok, next I took a shower. When I stepped into the shower stall, I was greeted by a used bar of soap, complete with body hair stuck in it. The glass partition of the shower stall was smeared and dirty and the tile floor of the entire bathroom was sticky. When I used a wet washcloth to test the cleanliness of the floor, I wasn't surprised to see that the white washcloth was now charcoal gray with dirt. Additionally, the bathroom sink had body hair in it. I have photos of all of this.

Next, when I asked if the poolside bartender if the bar had food, I was referred to the restaurant across the way, despite the bar having food available right there. When I asked the bartender later why he didn't suggest food, he said, "well, it sounded like you wanted food that only the restaurant could provide," despite me asking for "snacks"

All in all, this was not an enjoyable experience. I have had unprofessional customer service with Sonder before (on a previous reservation in Boston in 2021). Also, a good friend of mine had a really bad experience at the San Francisco location this past January 2021, so I can't say my experience lives up to the brand image portrayed on your website, social media or YouTube and Twitter outlets.

Disappointing. I want to like Sonder and endorse it, but not sure I can.

I like the 'no contact' approach. Everything is taken care of on your mobile device. Yet if you have a problem with the room, which I did it becomes a major headache. After arriving at 9:30pm I unpacked and was about to take a shower. On entering the bathroom I realized the bathroom floor and shower floor had a sticky substance on them. Unusable, unhygienic, disgusting. I put towels on the floors.
Tried the concierge service, was texted that the floor would be cleaned in the morning. After returning from work at 4pm, the issue was still not resolved. After texting again, I finally connected with a manager. Promised it would be cleaned while I went to dinner, told they would void the cleaning charge, They offered breakfast which I accepted and a 10% rate reduction. The floor was not fully cleaned of the sticky substance on my return that evening. I checked out as planned. I would not recommend this as a place to stay in Palm Springs.

My experience was not up to par with the many good reviews shared about the Sonders Pam Springs: my patio, room fooor and shower were not clean, the amenities in the shower empty: underneath the “locked up” soap you can tell nobody cleaned for weeks. The curtains had an uninviting stain or dirt on it and the floor felt dirty and after walking on it with white socks revealed it was filthy. The plastic bed/sheet arrangement; although I understand the purpose) slips off during the night and it’s uncomfortable… the fridge did not cool; probably broken.
I cleaned the wash sink but the shower was so restricted you end up with a stinging and over-pressures drizzle of water…
Parking was made impossible by party guests blocking all spots and they walk around the building loudly talking and laughing at midnight in search of their vehicles… I did not like my stay here!

Hi Yes, it is. It has one or two k-cups with tea or coffee; they never refill (even if you pay for cleaning) and you can not find them at the refill station. You should buy/bring some k-cups with you.
