Six of us stayed here for a few nights before getting on our boat. The hotel is about a 45 minute drive form the airport (the scenery on the way is spectacular) . Arrived around noon after a long 24+ hours of travel and was greeted by the friendly staff and shown to our bungalow. They took our lunch order and treated us to some local juice (very good). Settled in and went over for lunch and the food was delicious. Spent the afternoon in the water and exploring the property. Met the dog that lives there and my daughters were in love with him. Worth noting we had the larger cottage next to the front desk and it does have an AC unit but it's not enough to cool the whole place. There are ceiling fans and plenty of windows though so at night it's not too bad, but can get a little warm during the day especially if there isn't much of a breeze. We also ordered dinner "snacks" which is a choice of burgers/fries. fish burger ( its a fresh fish filet and not a fish patty and its amazing) or chow main (family loved it). Breakfast the next day was homemade and delicious as well. Fresh local fruit, eggs, sausage, breads, jams , butter and coffee or juice. Simple but very good.

Activity wise, its right next door to the sacred temple location which is beautiful and has some cool stuff to see and plenty of markers in English and French that explain the location, its importance and the casted nature of the place. Great for a couple hour stroll just stay off the temple ruins. There is also the water which is calm and refreshing as well as kayaks for use if you like. The Raiatea Pearl Farm is a short 10 minute drive and worth it. The prices and quality were the best in French Polynesia. There is a small store in Opoa which has the essentials if you need snacks, drinks, beer, water, baguettes etc.

We stayed an additional night after getting off our boat before departing to Moorea.
Beds are comfortable and the kitchen is great for prepping small teams if you like.

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to relax in paradise with total peace and quiet. Plus like most of the island it's not a corporate chain and has a ton of local charm. would stay again and again.

I stayed at Hotel Atiapiti in a bungalow right on the beach for 3 wonderful nights. The bungalow itself is very comfortable and spacious with a full kitchen, bed and bath with a hot shower, and a nice porch looking out over the ocean towards Huahine. Marie is a gracious host, and a fabulous cook. Breakfast and lunch at the restaurant were great, and there are multiple dinner options. Thank you Marie for the delicious carpaccio!

The Marae next door is very interesting, and there is a nice hike to do on the hillside above. I swam and snorkeled from the dock; and had a great manta encounter right in front. I would certainly like to return and stay longer.

We had a short-but-lovely stay with Marie. The bungalow was clean, comfortable and beachy. The snorkeling right at hand in beautiful waters. Breakfast and lunch tasty and plentiful (no dinner!) Bring your own entertainment, you're 45 minutes from the Raiatea airport.

Yes, the location is wonderful, a long sandy beach, the world heritage Marae nearby, the bungalow was cosily furnished and had a nice terrace. And the owner Marie-Claude was helpful. But - spider webs, dead insects on the bed covers, stains on the walls and on the light switches, hair in the shower tub - and you do not want me to describe the toilet!!! I have kept photos but you do not want to see them.
We arrived at 21:00 in this middle of nowwhere, it was dark and the owner disappeared after showing us the bungalow so that changes were not possible.
The next day the owner explained that due to last week´s storms and a fully booked place she had had no time for a thorough cleaning. But: The filth was partly weeks and months old. And: The hotel is not cheap, the price might be acceptable for a clean bungalow but still the owner did not offer a reduction.

We loved our stay here. Our room was beachfront and was very spacious. Perfect for 2 adults and one child. Marie-Claude and her partner (whose name I can"t spell) are so hospitable. The hotel is a long way from town and you need to be prepared for that. We made our breakfast in our room and that was lovely to slowly get up. We had lunch most days at the restaurant and Marie-Claude's food is fantastic. The lagoon is lovely and my son loved being able to jump off the wharf. The closest place for sinner is a snack just down the road but they close early so be organised. They also had no seafood in all the time we were there. it would be nice to have an evening restaurant because of the remoteness but i appreciate that this is a family run hotel and they need their rest. You can prepare your own meals in the kitchenette but that wash"t really what we wanted to do. This is a fantastic place for young families as they water is so safe. We are pleased we brought torches because the crabs come out at night which is really disconcerting when you are crossing the grass! But that is part of the adventure. Another place of paradise found! Thankyou Marie-Claude.

We stayed here after getting off our yacht charter. It is a bit of a drive from town so the hire car is highly recommended. We didn't test the snorkelling after being spoilt sailing prior but looked nice. Great place just to relax and don't miss the world heritage site just up the beach

A lovely spacious garden bungalow in a quiet location with good cooking facilities. But bring your own tea and coffee. There's a supermarket nearby to buy any essentials including water as the tap water is not drinking water.
Kayaks were available to rent at a charge but we didn't have time as we were only in Raiatea for one night. There's also snorkelling gear available to use. The snorkelling was pretty spectacular when you swim from the pier to the sandbank and beyond.
The restaurant menu lacked vegetarian options so we just made our own dinner that night and ordered drinks and dessert from the restaurant, which they are happy to bring to your room.
Wifi is available but need to walk to the beach/restaurant to get a good signal.
Transfers are expensive but I think it's because it consists of a private cab ride. Recommend to rent a car to drive around the island as 2 days rental is only a little more than a return transfer for 2.

We stayed at Hotel Atiapiti as a stop over on our way to Vahine Island Resort. Our flight came in late in the day and Marie, the owner, was gracious enough to pick us up at the airport. Even though their restaurant was closed she cooked us dinner as we were starving and delivered it to the room in the pouring rain! The food was good, nothing fancy, but suited what we needed and wanted. We were greeted with fruit, bread and coffee in the morning and were then shuttle back to the airport for a boat ride to the next destination. Marie was very friendly and accommodating as well as Bobby their dog :) Overall the hotel is very charming, rooms are clean and decorated well and the owner is extremely nice and accommodating.

This is by far the most ideal place I have stayed in French Polynesia. I booked it because my wife and I wanted to visit the marae, and it could not be closer. The owner Marie-Claude picked us up at the airport and is a delightful tri-lingual hostess, enthusiastic: knowledgeable, very unique entertaining. Our bungalow was 10 m from the lagoon. The swimming and snorkeling were great, as was the marae complex. Marie-Claude's breakfasts and dinners were simple, fresh, healthy, and delicious.
That evening by the marae, the islanders had a two-hour dance celebration, and we felt like the only tourists there (and essentially were). The prices were very fair for French Polynesia.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough..

We just left the hotel atiapiti in raiatea. Great experience. Marie the owner is a sweetheart. She is the machine behind this adorable hotel. Great chef and amazing host. The restaurant is amazing and is such a great place to stay. Easy ride from the airport and in the center of the most historical ground in polinesia. A mix of beach, great cuisine and art history. Not sure you can ask for more

Is snorkeling available here or are there too many waves?

Snorkeling is possible here most of the times, although it can happen that the sea is a bit agitated and in that case you should only go in if you're a good swimmer.
