Activity wise, its right next door to the sacred temple location which is beautiful and has some cool stuff to see and plenty of markers in English and French that explain the location, its importance and the casted nature of the place. Great for a couple hour stroll just stay off the temple ruins. There is also the water which is calm and refreshing as well as kayaks for use if you like. The Raiatea Pearl Farm is a short 10 minute drive and worth it. The prices and quality were the best in French Polynesia. There is a small store in Opoa which has the essentials if you need snacks, drinks, beer, water, baguettes etc.
We stayed an additional night after getting off our boat before departing to Moorea.
Beds are comfortable and the kitchen is great for prepping small teams if you like.
This is the perfect place to stay if you want to relax in paradise with total peace and quiet. Plus like most of the island it's not a corporate chain and has a ton of local charm. would stay again and again.

The Marae next door is very interesting, and there is a nice hike to do on the hillside above. I swam and snorkeled from the dock; and had a great manta encounter right in front. I would certainly like to return and stay longer.

We arrived at 21:00 in this middle of nowwhere, it was dark and the owner disappeared after showing us the bungalow so that changes were not possible.
The next day the owner explained that due to last week´s storms and a fully booked place she had had no time for a thorough cleaning. But: The filth was partly weeks and months old. And: The hotel is not cheap, the price might be acceptable for a clean bungalow but still the owner did not offer a reduction.

Kayaks were available to rent at a charge but we didn't have time as we were only in Raiatea for one night. There's also snorkelling gear available to use. The snorkelling was pretty spectacular when you swim from the pier to the sandbank and beyond.
The restaurant menu lacked vegetarian options so we just made our own dinner that night and ordered drinks and dessert from the restaurant, which they are happy to bring to your room.
Wifi is available but need to walk to the beach/restaurant to get a good signal.
Transfers are expensive but I think it's because it consists of a private cab ride. Recommend to rent a car to drive around the island as 2 days rental is only a little more than a return transfer for 2.
That evening by the marae, the islanders had a two-hour dance celebration, and we felt like the only tourists there (and essentially were). The prices were very fair for French Polynesia.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough..
