Nestled close to the beach, VIK Hotel Arena Blanca garners appreciation for its tranquil atmosphere and friendly staff. Despite commendations for its cleanliness and spacious rooms, guests have called out the need for renovations, pointing to the outdated accommodations and issues such as humidity and faulty air conditioning. While the service is noted for being attentive, travelers often express concerns about the overall value, citing a mismatch between the cost and the worn facilities, with a particular wish for in-room WiFi and coffee makers.

Just returned from this resort and I must to say it wasn't as bad as few reviews said. Actually I really enjoyed stay in Vik. It is cheaper option of all inclusive holidays in Punta Cana. Food was good not much to complain drinks ofc local one so don't expect some good brands of spirits apart from Barcelo rum. Room was big and most of the services ok. Staff friendly receptionists helpful , bar staff bit grumpy but not bad overall . Animation team fun and joyful. In my opinion beach should be cleaned daily but I guess it's covid recovery time so might be too expensive to maintain this on daily basis. During whole stay only bad comment I can give to Miquel Antonio ... He was quite rude and not really showed customer service skills. Pity because rest of the the team was great. On my return next time I'll consider this place again. I strongly believe as all inclusive resort one bar should be open 24/7 with some snacks , coffee and maybe basic drinks. Between midnight and 7 am you have nothing to do as everything is closed. Some people would like to have early coffee on the beach and holidays makers would like to have more time to enjoy drinks during them stay. Thank you all for your hospitality and hope those small things will improve shortly to provide better guest experience.

Just returned from our vacation in the VIK Hotel Arena Blanca and we need to state that it was a pleasure to stay there. As currently in the pandemic situation the amount of guests was very limited the ressort was beautifull, calm and necessary hygienic measures were in place an working.
Reception is providing great help also with required Covid testing prior to return flights.
Currently only a la carte restaurant open but with great choice of tastefull food.
Very relaxing quiet vacations in these times and highly recommanded

Our hotel of choice for our last several visits to Punta Cana. It is a small quiet resort which is ideal for those who are not looking to party and who just wish to relax.
Check in was quick and easy. Eddie and Santos on the front desk were awesome getting us the rooms we wanted. Even no trouble when my husband did not like the first room offered and we requested a change.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. Our maid was lovely, quick to provide any additional items we asked for, and our room was cleaned generally while we were eating breakfast.
The grounds are well maintained. There is a lot of seaweed on the beach and at times floating in the water. It is not something the resort can control but they work hard to try and keep it clean. There has been some beach erosion, but they are also working to repair that. It did not in any way affect our enjoyment of the beach and there were still plenty of palapas and tress for much needed shade.
Bar staff were awesome, shout out to Severiano and Pedro on the bar near the beach and to Ricardo in the lobby bar. Always friendly, smiling and happy to serve you!
The food has never been to my picky husbands liking but he manages with soups and salads and desserts. Overall, the food is decent and can always rely on the pasta or Chinese bar if nothing else. Breakfast as usual was my favourite meal and Leonardo is a great asset to the resort. Smiling, upbeat and remembers your choices after the first day! I like that coffee, juices, wine, beer and water are self-serve in the restaurant I prefer not to have to wait for someone to come around especially if it is busy.
The resort was fairly quiet for most of our stay although did pick up towards the end of our stay.
Evening entertainment was amateurish but then we don't go for the shows.
Would certainly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation. Great value for your money. We are hoping to return early next year!

A fantastic small resort. Wonderful white sand beaches. We checked in with great ease, no waiting. There are no water sports here, but lots of things to do along the beach. (ie parasailing, kite sailing, banana boat rides, etc) If you have your own snorkeling equipment, there are small weeded areas with nice fish to watch. The only complaint is there was no hot water for the duration of our vacation in the room. 4 of the 5 blocks of rooms did not have hot water. This information was not communicated to us upon check in. The staff were very accommodating with allowing us to use another room to have a warm shower. Highly recommended this resort.

I am more than disappointed from this „4 star“ hotel. I do definitely not recommend it!!! First of all, let me start with the very unfriendly hotel staff. Reception, restaurant, bar, everybody is SO unfriendly you cannot imagine. Only nice people are the ladies that clean the rooms and the security guys. The others: I really don’t know which work ethics they have and what the hotel management is telling them. But please, please this is not how you treat customers, this is not how you treat hotel guests that want to spend a beautiful time here. Now regarding the room: sorry but even a low budget MOTEL would have a balcony door that closes, would have a switch for the light on the balcony, would have a shower that works, would have a TV that is not from probably 1960 and it would have a door that closes well so I don’t have to wake up all my neighbors when heavily trying to close the door by slamming it. Also the phone did not work so I had to walk to the reception for ever single thing I unfortunately had to complain about. Guests: 98% Russians. No more comment needed. Beach: not as in the Photos. Pool area: dirty. Food: okay. Covid measures: a joke!!! I felt the need to upgrade to the VIP area after all these horrible things. VIP area is okay but I would call it „VIP“… nothing special just a normal hotel how it should be. also here guests from the normal area are coming to take pictures at our beach part, I have seen Russians occupying the best part of the beach and palm trees for 2 hours in the morning to take pictures. … I really did not expect the hotel to be this horrible. Never ever again!!!!!! Can’t wait to fly back home soon. Disgusting.

This resort is far less then a 4 star place. Where to begin? Front desk people really do not care, you ask for money exchange, they have no money and just shrug their shoulders and you ask them for any type of help ( Dominican e-ticket for example) they just look at you with a blank stare. The entire resort is very and I mean very tired. The buildings are falling apart, handrails on the stair wells are rotting, pool is literally coming apart as you walk on it, water from the shower dribbles out, it takes 3 to 4 flushes on the toilet, the bed is nothing more then a box spring............shall I go on. They boast about the 3 ala cartes on the web site, well there is only 1 that rotates through the 3 different menus ( Italian, Mexican and International). The beach is far from what they advertise, the seaweed is out of control and I feel for the 5 or 6 guys out there every day trying to dig/bury it, the resort should have the appropriated equipment to try to clean it up. On a positive note the Dining staff were excellent and the Bar staff went above and beyond to make you enjoy (A huge shout out to Severino and Padro). We saw every morning the pool staff trying to their best ability to make sure the pool was clean, to only see the frustration on their faces. They ask for Photos of our experience, I do not think they want to see them!!!!!!

My husband and I spent two weeks in January 2021 at the VIK Arena Blanca / VIK Cayena Beach in Punta Cana. We were a little worried about traveling with regard to COVID, but every effort was made by the resort to put all our fears to rest! High standards of sanitation and appropriate use of masks were evident throughout our stay. We were greeted on arrival by competent, efficient, and caring staff, and that continued during our entire vacation. From Barbara, Melanie, and Melanie in the office, to the wonderful housekeeping staff, to all the folks in dining services / bar (Fellow, Juan, Jonathan, Javier, El Jefe, Carlos at the beach, and all the others, all our needs were met! We have stayed here on several occasions, and we certainly missed seeing some familiar faces (Pedro, Eddie, Pablo, and others) - maybe next time, because we will certainly be back!

This was my 12th stay at the VIK. I feel very comfortable here and appreciate many things about it.
One of the best, in my opinion, is the size. This is not a mega-resort like many in Punta Cana. It is compact enough that even the rooms furthest from the beach are fairly close. The layout is such that the restaurants and bars are close to the rooms. There is easy access to food and drinks. Since resort has not fully opened the restaurants since the Covid shutdown, there is only one ala carte now instead of three. The menu is a revolving one of the three menus – Italian, Mexican, and International. All very good. My personal favorite is the Italian menu, specifically the salmon and the spinach chicken.
The buffet is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A great selection of foods plus a pasta station and a stir-fry station. There is a snack restaurant near the pool and beach that serves from 11 – 6, serving brick oven pizza, hot dogs, and hamburgers. The resort has 5 bars, which makes getting drinks easy.
The alcohol is national brand drinks, which I’m fine with especially the Dominican rum and Presdiente beer. If you need name brand drinks, go elsewhere. There is evening entertainment and activities offered throughout the day.
The staff is wonderful, many of them having been there since before I started coming. Bartenders Pedro, Ricardo, Cristian, Severiano, and others are fantastic as is the staff in the resturants – Luisa, Fello, Jonathan, Juan, and others whose names escape me. Leonardo is the best egg man – gets everyone’s day off to a great start.
The resort is on a beautiful white sand beach, walkable for miles in each direction. The beach suffered some storm damage in December, but they are working on repairing it. Like everywhere else, there is Sargasso grass, which they try to clean up as quickly as possible.
If you are looking for a relaxing beach vacation with the ease of getting around, getting food and drinks, the VIK would be a good choice.

Staff : All the staff were very nice , i know english or french are not they first language but they still try to communicate with me . I did a solo trip & the staff were always making sure that i was fine or had everything i need . One thing that catch my attention was the work conditions of the staff , i saw some people early in the morning working everyday in the heat at 5-6 am & they were still there working at night around 23h pm i felt really bad & that give me cold feet knowing the extreme heat we had this week .

Resort & Food : 2 restaurant was open when the website said they have 4 restaurant , one restaurant the Trattoria food was very good & fresh but the Buffet beside it the food was bad i was expecting more traditional Dominican food . For the snack bar i was expecting " Snack " & not burger or pizza more chips , candies , cookies etc ... For the activities , the staff are really trying to make us play games or have fun but i just felt like playing kids games . I was expecting to see show or event but nothing , at night is really boring . The beach is nice but those people trying to sell excursion really making it hard for us to enjoy the beach . If you don't pay for an excursion you really going to be bored , theres nothing interesting to do in this hotel . The pool is very salty same as the beach " ocean " .
The bathroom shower head are really dirty seem old .
The Ac doesn't work very well . There's no elevator so if you know you have some disability you should take a room in the first floor . Would i go back to this resort ? Never
The only thing that make this place nice was the staff after that everything is bad & im still wondering the condition working of the staff because working in the morning & still being here at night to come back working again the day after
is not human at all .
Do i recommend this place ? Sadly i don't for the price i paid for this trip it doesn't worth it at all . The resort was pretty empty . I did read the review but i didn't thought it was that bad but next time i will take the review in consideration & go to a better resort .

We picked this resort because of it's online pictures, boy did the website have us fooled.
We got there late and were given a key to our room and were told if it does not unlock come back we will get it reprogrammed. Our room was very dated, musty, moldy and even had a cockroach that we kicked out of our room. We were exhausted and decided to go to the front in the morning and ask to be moved to another resort all together. The Air Transat rep told us that a move would cost each of us an extra $2000.00 with no rebate on what we spent already. They offered to give us another room as option #2. We had a look at the 2nd room, which was alot brighter, with no mold, or signs of water damage so we decided to take it.
The food was good at the two A la Carte restaurants and so was the pizza at the snack bar down by the pool.
Vik Arena has two pools #1 was taped off as it was in need of repairs, pool #2 was open but also required repairs, big holes on the bottom concrete floor.
The stairs you had to climb to pick up your pool towels were dangerous and people were tripping on them. The towels were old and now light blue with torn threads on the edges.
The beach was washed away by the hurricanes, the Gazebo was falling into the ocean, with tree roots sticking up. It was hardly possible to walk in the two feet of water without falling on the rocks that were left there to help the erosion. I learned the hard way and fell on my knees, ripping open my knees, my girlfriend fell and lost her hearing aids, therefore was deaf the rest of our trip. To get to the beach safely we had to walk across other hotel properties.
Anyone that comes to this hotel will not be back, its a dump, they will be out of business before you know it. Please listen to these reviews, its no JOKE!
