We had some initial confusion via going through a third party as to whether this was a house or a hotel. It ended up being a hotel which was ultimately better, as we didn't have to worry about cleaning, cooking or supplies. With drinks and food reasonably priced we were content to just use the pool, jacuzzi and beach to relax while playing some games at the bar. The owner was very helpful regarding potential activities along with opinions on restaurants. We had the option to go 10 minutes into Cabarete for night life or just relax at the hotel. All in all I would go back in a heartbeat.

We stayed here for 7 nights and everything went perfectly. Ben knows the ins and outs of getting around Cabarete and can help you find whatever it is you want to do in DR, from horse riding, to surfing, to boat excursions. The staff is incredible. Jefrey is young and energetic, great with kids and especially young adults, will share some good laughs and play great music- not to mention he can make the best mojito in all of DR! Ms. P is wonderful, she helps out with just about anything from getting meals situated to assisting on excursions and acting as a translator when needed. She knows DR very well and can also recommend many different sight seeing excursions. Both speak English fluently, so there’s no issues there. The Villa is on the beach with an infinity pool and jacuzzi so there’s plenty to do just on the property alone! You will not regret staying here. Taxi’s are very easy to come by and there’s plenty to see and do in Cabarete or in Sosúa! I was very happy with our stay and would love to do it all over again.

If you're looking for a destination away from the big crowds, enough space for a group of friends, and access to DR only the locals can tell you about then Barefoot Beach Pad is the place to stay. Between the opportunity to curate our experience each day, we spent a hassle-free 4 days and 3 nights enjoying all that DR could offer. Late-night Cabarette is only a short taxi trip down the road and with amazing views of kite surfers passing you by every hour this location is one of the best to show your friends a good time.

Barefoot is directly on the beach and all rooms have an amazing view of the ocean and pool area. The staff truly make it their personal objective to meet your every need, very customer oriented. Ben set the tone at the top and met with us a couple of times to ensure we were aware of things to do/see and then made all of the arrangements. We had the all-inclusive package which was worry-free. The on-site manager, JB and bartenders James and Richard were great and accomodated the tastes of all 16 of us. James particularly was very engaged and also helped make my friend's 50th birthday night very special. He was so helpful, a genuine person and we enjoyed hanging out with him at the private Barefoot tiki bar. The view is remarkable, but it's really the staff and service that make it feel so comfortable.

We just returned from this beautiful paradise that is Barefoot Beach Pad. Nina was wonderful, walking us through our stay with booking our excursions, meal planning and all the minor details. We chose the meal plan and open bar which really made our vacation easier without needing to cook. Our bartenders were wonderful, James and Richard will be there to make any drink you desire. We did the Jungle zip line and waterfall, just be aware that it requires significant hiking and stair climbing, and you also jump from the waterfall which we were not expecting. But overall a nice excursion. We also chose ATV riding, just have a bandana and goggles with you, if not they charge you $5 for each. We did Horseback riding in the jungle and it was so much fun, but keep in mind that if you don’t ride much you will be sore after. This is such a wonderful place to stay and we are already planning our return!

The barefoot beach pad was one of the best experiences of our lives with our family and friends. The staff on this amazing property were incredibly attentive, kind and helpful. We enjoyed every delicious meal that was pre planned and set up for us each day at our preferred time. The kitchen staff and chef make amazing authentic Dominican dishes. We had every meal at the house! Say YES to all inclusive meals and drinks. So ALL the excursions..especially the horseback in the jungle with Tommy and his family. We will never forget that experience with our children (9,10,12,15&17) Nina catered to our every request and planned on property massages, and bon fires on the beach each night and even tracked down some marshmallows (which is not an easy task). She was attentive and clear when planning ahead of arrival and even greeted us at 7am (when our flights were cancelled) and made sure breakfast was ready when finally arrived after a difficult 24hour travel day. We are leaving the DR with heavy but full hearts. We loved it so much that it was hard to leave. We were able to spend so much time together because the staff was handling absolutely everything..I am even going home with a suitcase full of freshly laundered clothes!! Say yes to surfing lessons! They come to you and you learn in your backyard! Swim in the ocean at dusk and see the sunset amongst the distant mountain range. Go to the town and see kite beach one day..grab a drink at one of the beach side restaurants in between meals at the house! Go waterfall sliding! Just say YES to all the things. It’s a once in a lifetime trip. Although we have already started planning our return!

We had a group of 17 adults and 2 children, which can be a difficult amount of people to accommodate (especially in terms of differing desire for excursions) but the staff never flinched. They were incredibly kind, caring, and responsive. Ben helped us arrange our trip and set up all of our excursions for us. We worked A LOT with JB while we were at Barefoot and he was willing to help with our needs day-to-day. He went to the store several times with little notice to help our group with items needed for cooking. He helped us arrange massages and some of the excursions that we added later. The bartenders were so kind and willing to help in the evening times. The cleaning staff cleaned our rooms every day. The kitchen staff made meals for us several of the days that we were there, which was much needed after long days of being off property and no energy left to cook. The location is awesome and the view is beautiful. I cannot say enough good things about the staff; they really welcomed us into DR and made sure to explain things to us. We never felt like outsiders. We hope to be back in the future!

As a first timer in Caberete, the Barefoot Beach Pad was the perfect location. I enjoyed "on the beach" privacy while being close enough to outside restaurants, clubs and tourist attractions. The owners were perfect hosts staffing ever area with the kindest and most efficient housekeepers, cooks and bar staff. The outside massage team, barber and transportation professionals exceeded expectations when providing on premise service. The catering & decoration teams for our special event rivaled my favorite hotel, The Four Seasons. This experience was sheer paradise every day. I cannot wait to return.

This vacation was one of the best we have ever taken. Nina was so helpful. She responded so quickly when we messaged her and she helped to make everything perfect for our family. We were a group of three families totaling 12 all together. There was plenty of room for everyone. The beach is your backyard just beyond the pool. The outdoor space was perfect for meals, games and dance parties. We selected the all inclusive option for food and drinks. It was definitely worth the price. It was so nice to spend our time making memories instead of cooking and cleaning. We ate very well and the bartenders were so much fun. We had a few different ones, but JB and James went above and beyond. We asked Nina to recommend two excursions and she was spot on. The horseback ride with Tommy through the jungle was literally the best excursion we have ever done. We had very small kids with us and they were not only just fine but had the time of their lives. We also went to the waterfall excursion and it was so much fun. If you do this option, make sure to wear a swim suit with some type of shorts over it and either water shoes or running shoes. Last minute we decided to do surfing lessons with Craig and Catherine. They were so helpful and lovely to get to know. On the last day we chose to get massages and it was magical. The ocean is so beautiful here, the water is warm and this part of the island is quite breeezy. The breeze kept us from being too hot. We did yoga outside under the open deck and bonfires on the beach. It really was a dream vacation. The only thing I would do differently is fly to a closer airport. The only direct flight was into Santo Domingo. Nina arranged transportation for us but it’s quite a long drive. If you can get into Puerto Playa, do it. Take Nina’s guidance. She really wants to help make this the best trip for you. She is a gem!

It’s about 45 minutes. You don’t need a car if you want to take a taxi. From the airport it’s about 30 minutes. I have a great taxi guy too! His name is Eduardo. +1 (849) 882-4513. He speaks English and lives in the area so know where everything is.
