The Point Village Hotel has made a significant statement with its presence at the entrance to the popular Mossel Bay Point recreational area. The Point Village Hotel offers luxury accommodation in 16 en-suite rooms, each with its own kitchenette, as well as 7 suites with self catering facilities, each with 2 en-suite bedrooms and fully equipped kitchens and 6 fully self catering units with 3 bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The atmosphere is chic yesterday that blends with modern today in a relaxing holiday feeling. The hotel rooms are very spacious, luxurious and furnished in contemporary stylish but unpretentious themes. The hotel has not only become popular with South Africans but has also become a first night venue for hikers on the World Renowned Oystercatcher Trail. A typical quote is from Gary Welsh, the leader of one of the hiking groups who spent a night here on Sunday last week, before setting off on the 4 day walk along the coast to Gouritz River, "Great and spacious rooms, modern and in a way futuristic. The decor is stimulating and unusual, moving away from the normal ‘copy and paste style’ of most hotels. The locality is indeed, unbeatable."

Curtains in bedroom too light in color. Street light right outside of window turns the room into daylight.Maybe blockout blinds would help sort this problem Did not sleep well both nights.
Tap on the hand basin projects the water flow over the bowl and onto the floor.

What a noisy building, honestly, when you jave 16 rooms why place the 4 you have ocupied so close to one another. You can hear toilets flushing, showers running, people watching tv etc. I definitely dont want to be here in season. Lovely location, just a pitty you cant spend quite time in your room.

We booked a room about 30 min before arriving in Mossel Bay. Darren was very helpful asking us to check the room first before deciding. It was a downstairs option open to the car park.

We decided to stay two nights instead so opted for an apartment on the 2nd floor (Room 21). It was a double apartment i.e. 2 double rooms, open plan lounge and kitchen with ALL amenities including a braai on the balcony, which extends the full length of the apartment.

The lounge doors open up so the full area is open to the sound of the waves and the view of the lighthouse on the Point.

The shower was spacious and everything provided, however on the second night, the towels had been removed from both bathrooms and not replaced and we had to ask Reception for towels.

The Hotel does have onsite underground parking and it is "first come, first served" and there is secure parking across from the Hotel.

There are several restaurants downstairs from the Hotel as well as easy walking distance.

Would recommend for singles/couples/ families as close to Beach and tidal pool within in 2 min walk from the Hotel door

The property which is in an ideal location, looses its sparkle as soon as you step in the front door. The interiors lack any modern style or updated finishes. Poorly furnished that disappoints you as you try and relax. Your a hotel, a place that is supposed to offer comfort, a good nights sleep and value. Remember your in the service industry, so give a good service, get new beds, buy some new furniture, put coffee presses or pod machines in the rooms, clean the rafters of cobwebs and dust, It could be a great money maker with the right touches and staff but you don’t seem to know how? I’d be happy to advise as I e turned around many a retail store!

We liked everything about the hotel except the very loud noises made by the water pipes. The noises are intrusive because they are too loud to ignore - they even woke us up in the middle of the night. We cannot imagine why this problem is not rectified. Dolfie even mentioned it when we checked in. It may be costly to rectify but we cannot recommend the hotel to anyone because of this problem, although normally we would have given the hotel a warm recommendation. Another issue is that we should have been advised beforehand that breakfast is served in a restaurant down the road and not in the hotel

The reception staff were very confused about payments. Both of my payments were mislaid and I was told that I had not paid.
Very noisy outside on a saturday night. Very bright light outside the room in the street and I know that they need that for security reasons, but then darker curtains should be put in the rooms.
There was a housekeeping bag left in the passage which had bad language on it. Not a very good reflection. For the price we paid, the accommodation was reasonable enough.

Fantastic place to stay. Close to the beach and facilities. A must for all. Stayed over for work purposes but will definitely go back for a family holiday. Great value for money. Their breakfast voucher for the nearby restaurant is great as you can use the voucher for breakfast, lunch or supper.

No ways is this place a 4 star!

From outside and walking into reception this place looks good but that’s where it ends!
They’ve just had 2years to do some maintenance but clearly nothing has been done!

We had 3 couples in 3 rooms on 2 different nights. So it wasn’t just 1 room I’m talking about that could have been a problem.

The rooms are basic, very little furniture and doesn’t feel clean. Moldy dirty bathroom walls, holes in ceiling from damp and rusty shower heads. Beds are hard, some have massive dents in them so you slide into the middle. Bedding has stains on them. Ugly brown blankets that have probably been there for years. TV is only Open View (no DsTV) so not much to watch. Towels are grey but supposed to be white. Plug sockets look a bit dangerous. Bedside lamps, if they’re plugged in, are rusty.

If you have to stay here, request a room on the 4th/5th floor. Room 509 was clean and had no damp musty smell. Room 304 also ok.

Don’t stay on the 2nd floor - cannot understand how they can book guests into these rooms. One of our rooms was booked in 205 but this room is seriously a health risk, damp moldy walls, moldy around the sliding doors and wet floor. We asked to move and I checked about 4 rooms with reception (same issue, all rooms on this floor were the same) before settling for 304, also ok.
Please stop selling these rooms until you’ve done maintenance!

Breakfast and breakfast room definitely needs to be redone. Laminate floors all lifting and smells. Windows don’t have handles. Food okish….Please make sure serving staff are clean and tidy when serving food to your guests, dirty nails not a good thing when they’ve just put your food down infront if you!

Passage ways in the hotel have big damp stains on them so probably leaking roof. Walls all over needs a paint.

Lift not working so you have to walk up and down the stairs.

Public toilets smell and these are near the stairs where you have to walk up/down to your room. Manages office and kitchen area also close by and doors stand open so very untidy.

First night I was able to buy a drink at the bar. On our return 2 days later their liquor license hard expired!
So coffee was ordered instead….this was acceptable.

The reception staff are extremely helpful and probably the only good thing about this place!

We will definitely not be staying here again and don’t recommend anyone stays here until some maintenance has been done. Very sad as location is amazing but not worth it at all!

Don't stay here. The room doors are crap doors that would be more appropriate in a barn, They bang and rattle and everytime someone opens or closes one to their room you hear it. In a normal hotel the doors are soundproofed, these are the exact opposite. THe room I had had only a bath, no shower. This is not the 1960s! It costs very little to add a simple shower over the bath, but the owner is clearly too miserable. I like a shower in the morning and it is a real pain in the ass to have to run a bath!

Friendly staff, extremely neat and modern rooms and apartments. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and plan on booking again when we travel to Mossel Bay. Hotel and housekeeping staff made sure that our rooms were serviced and everyday, stepping into our rooms felt like it was the first day. Impressive!!!
