Sky Rock is in a nice, quiet, beautiful location but the rooms need more improvement to make this hotel outstanding. This “motel” style hotel is situated with beautiful views. The staff is what truly makes this a great stay. I would like to give a shoutout to Cheryl, Holly, and the front desk/concierge lady (who has I think a German accent). They were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay and were always smiling and happy too. The tall guy who did the gong was also very upbeat and helpful! I also enjoyed the breakfasts here, they were very tasty and plentiful. The shuttle service is a nice option to have as well. While all of these are positives for the hotel, there are some negatives too. The biggest disappointment was with the room. Although I could adjust the A/C, there was not the option for a constant fan. The bed was comfortable but the linens felt thin and cheap, the pillows, lumpy and the rug between the beds, dirty. The bathroom was tiny and that room safe was in a ridiculous, hard to reach location. For over $400 a night I expected better.

After reading the reviews we were a little nervous, but the hotel is much better than the reviews said. When booking you will need to pay extra to get a room on the second or third floors with the better views, which are spectacular from both sides of the hotel. If book through third party, instead of Bonvoy, expect not to get a premier room. However the patios are open to everyone so easy access to all patios. The bar has entertainment, incredible views, good food and great service. Breakfast watching the sunrise is incredible.

The Sky Rock Inn of Sedona was picture perfect. You cannot beat the view from the lobby. I appreciated the events they held in the dining area each night I was there and they even had live music at breakfast on Sunday. I did have an issue with our ac/heating unit on our first night. It rained overnight and the rain ricocheted through the unit into our room. We barely slept. I explained the situation to the front desk in the morning and requested to change rooms. They made it happen without any pushback. They even credited us back for our parking fee which we truly appreciated. Amazing service. Shoutout to the woman working the lobby bar Sunday morning. She was a character in the best way possible. I would definitely go back!

Walking into the lobby to check-in was the first time we have ever felt so judged and unwelcome at any establishment. After a long road trip to get there, the lady with the long dark hair and false eyelashes who works the mid morning afternoon shift looked us up and down as if we don’t belong here and are scum. Not friendly or welcoming in anyway and no smile in sight as well. We were so uncomfortable and intimidated and considered leaving the property because of that experience. The room and the views were good. You will have no view on the first floor. Our room door was off kilter and had a half inch crack allowing bugs to get in. There was also a pile of crumbs left outside our room door entrance when we first arrived. Breakfast was approximately $25 and delicious. Also the elderly lady working breakfast on Wednesday mornings was so funny, friendly and kind and hardworking. The shuttle, fire pits and open breakfast buffet are inconsistent and run some days but maybe not today. Parking is an extra $35 a night and it’s difficult to get a spot after 6pm. It appears as though this hotel is trying to cater to the high class and ritzy population. If I could leave with one word of advice, don’t judge a book by its cover.

On other reviews, we had read about the thin walled guest rooms. They weren’t exaggerating. We could actually hear them zipping up their suitcases! So as not to bother our neighbors, most of our speech was whispered, not the best way to communicate! The floor in the shower was slippery which was very surprising, especially as there were no hand holds in the shower.
One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was because they provided a shuttle to and from town. When we checked in we were told that the shuttle was out of service due to air conditioning problems and wouldn’t be available for a few days. No other type of transportation was offered. This was very disappointing. Because we enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, we didn’t want to drink and drive and ended up hiring a car service, which of course cost us additional money that we weren’t planning on. There was also a parking fee of $35 daily. Seems to me, that if you are staying in one of the hotel rooms, the parking space should be included or cost a lot less than $35 a day!

On the plus side, the breakfast buffet was nice, with lots of choices and better than most hotel buffets. Also, the ladies who checked us in were friendly and helpful. The view was beautiful from our back deck.

Always excited to get away to the high country, especially to Sedona. This time it was for a girls trip. It was pouring when we arrived and the concierge Sabiha not only checked us in and was kind enough to make sure our rooms would be close together but personally helped us unload all our luggage. The shuttle service and staff are wonderful people and provide a great drop off and pick up service.

This is my go to hotel. I discovered it in the middle of the renovation so I got to see the exceptional customer service provided from the entire staff throughout the crazy renovation.

I have to commend one individual that really stands out and consistently exceeds my expectations for knowledge and customer service. Her name is Sabiha Hamulic.
I have probably stayed at Sky Rock at least five or six time for leisure in the past 12 months with my husband, daughter friends and yes even the pups. The staff always provides a great experience. Sky Rock thanks for all you do it is really appreciated, see you again in August .

My wife and I stayed at Sky Rock the past three nights and found it comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere and a fantastic view. Our room was on the middle level with a king bed. Amenities included the usual coffee maker and refrigerator. Everything worked fine. Only issue was the lack of adequate task lighting, making it hard to read once the sun went down. The staff is friendly and helpful and the bartenders are all great. Location is perfect, just off 89A very close to 179, making it easy to get around. The hotel also has a local shuttle service if you don’t feel like driving. If we come back to Sedona we’ll definitely stay here again.

This hotel is amazing!!! Free fruit water & coffee in the lobby, which is perfect for enjoying the sunrise & sunset on their breathtaking back patio. You cannot beat the views. The patio also has live music and fire pits to enjoy when it gets a bit chilly at night.

The staff was extremely accommodating and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We didn’t get out and see as much of Sedona as we wanted to because we didn’t want to leave the hotel! Highly recommend!

Warning: they charge $75 if you check in early. This was about 25% of the one night charge which I felt was ridiculous. I have never been charged when a room was ready for you to check in. Their parking lot was also undergoing repairs which was inconvenient. They did offer a free shuttle which was fantastic. The view was wonderful as well. Just can’t get over the $75 early check in fee.

The rooms did not have adequate lighting, only 2 shades, one on each side of room. We were awakened at 5 am with zipping of luggage and talking from the next room. The walls are extremely thin.
My girlfriend and I did not wish to drive to town, so we asked about the free shuttle. It was not available and had been out of commission for many days. We tried Uber, not available, already booked solid. We acquired a phone number of an individual who could take us to town. The cost was $50. The cost to park my car outside our room was $35 a nite.
The smoke alarm flashed all night in our room which made it difficult to sleep.
We will not ever book this hotel again. Very disappointed. The cost of the room was way too high for the lack of amenities. We are Marriott members and have been for many years and have always been very happy with our choices. Not this time.
