The hotel staff were pleasant and the room was large and clean. My only concern was the noise from the neighbouring bars and restaurants. The breakfast was buffet and had many choices available. A great option if you want to be close to the airport in between flights.

Maintenance of the 1st room poorly done. Response time of the maintenance team very poor. Made promises and never kept. Moved out of the room at 22:30 at night with baby and 3yr old. Not happy that it seemed par for the course.

The room is plenty of space with good facilities to spend a night near the OR Tampo airport. If you enjoy gambling, there is a Casino too. In fact, the only thing it can be added is a Frigobar. Still the hotel provides ice. Very recommendable.

We went to the barn yard. Seeing the show ended late, we decided to stay over, seeing we were just ladies and traveling late at night is not ideal. The price for the family room was really not bad. The breakfast was excellent as well.

I would recommend this place without any second thoughts to anybody who wants a lovely place to take his family to. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms especially for the metcourt suites side very spacious and nice. I love all the hotel at emperors only that Mondior ad De Oreale have carpets which are a health hazard for people with allergy s. have booked twice at Mondior and didn't enjoy my stay cause of that and they was nothing available at the suites and metcourt.

We've had 2 recent stopovers at the Emporers Palace. We were going to be travelling with friends who had booked into the Mondior at the Emporers Palace as they had been there before, and recommended it. Our first stay was for 2 nights when we had arrived from Australia, and was just to rest before proceeding with our trip. We could not book into the Mondior as there were 3 of us, so we booked into the D'Oreale as, although it was quite expensive, it was rated at 5 stars and we wanted to make sure we had a good place to stay after our flight. The D'Oreale was very comfortable although the rooms were not that large. Since we were coming back to Johannesburg a week later to catch up with our friends, we decided to book into the Metcourt Suites, although it was with some hesitation as it was only 3 stars and had the least stars of all the Emporers Palace hotels. However, when we arrived we were very impressed with the Metcourt Suites - it was much better value than the D'Oreale and the rooms were bigger. At the D'Oreale we had a Queen bed and there was a sofa bed for our son, but at the Metcourt Suites there were 2 Queen beds and to us it seemed much more spacious than the D'Oreale. Our room was very clean and modern and was in easy access to the rest of the Emporers Palace group and the Food Court, movie cinema etc.
It was close to the airport and easy to catch the airport shuttles. We enjoyed the breakfast, and though it probably wasn't quite as good as that at the D'Oreale, it was still very adequate. When we left, we had to leave earlier than breakfast time and we were pleasantly surprised to find that, when we checked out, we received a take-away breakfast bag with a very ample breakfast with fruit, cereal, yoghurt etc, for us to take with us.
I would highly recommend Metcourt Suites and would certainly stay there again.

We stayed here for a few nights whilst transiting to Kruger National Park. The hotel is connected to a casino and entertainment complex with a plethora of restaurants to choose from. You name it, the cuisine is there! It is really cheap too and everywhere we went tastes great.
The rooms are massive and the beds comfortable. If I was going to be picky, the only thing missing is a decent aircon but what is there does the job.
Breakfast is a buffet with a selection of hot dishes, pastries and cereals. The staff are warm and friendly and breakfast delicious.
When we left for Kruger, they kept our big cases locked up for us and here wasn't any issues. Everyone was very friendly and couldn't have been nicer.
The hotel complex is 5 mins from OR Tambo and a free shuttle comes every 15 mins so very easy to get to the airport.
I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again if I was transiting in Johannesburg.

My family and I stayed at Emerald Metcourt Suites on Saturday night 14th June 2014, and it was one of the worst experiences we have had in a hotel to date.
My 2 sons stayed in room 238 and my wife and I in room 228.
On arrival on 14th evening, room 238 had no hot water in the bathroom. The receptionist informed my son to let the tap run for half an hour and then the water would warm up. He did this, but the water still did not heat up. He then reported it to reception, and was told that the maintenance team would fix up the problem immediately.
The next morning at around 8am when my sons went into the shower, there was again no hot water. Both my children had to shower in cold water. We reported it to the front desk manager on Sunday at around 10am, and he said he would send the maintenance team to fix the problem.
In room 228, the shower fitting is pulling out of the wall.
Room 238 had 2 bottles of dinking water - room 228 had none.
For the money we paid to stay at this hotel, their standards are disgusting, and we sincerely regret that we booked into Metcourt Suites.
The above is evidence of poor, shoddy and incompetent management of this hotel, and we will no longer be staying at this hotel. We advise other Trip Advisor members to be aware - you can get better value at other hotels in the surrounding area.

We stayed at Metcourt 3 times during our recent trip to Africa. It was very convenient to land at J'berg international airport and take the free shuttle to the hotel. The rooms are very modern-not like your average style motel room-but the added advantage was that they are very spacious and you can spread out your suitcases to repack to try and lose a couple of excess kilos. Beds were very comfortable which is what you need after a lot of travelling.
The staff at check in were always very helpful-in fact the last time the girl recognised us which is amazing considering the amount of people that must pass through their doors.
Another real bonus is that you can walk via a connecting corridoor to the Casino-not to bet but to take advantage of the multitude of restaurants to dine at-all at very reasonable prices. There is also a movie theatre if you have some spare time.
Breakfast was one of the best that we had on our 7 week stay in South Africa-and the best omlette.
Well worth considering
The staff at check in were always very helpful-in fact the last time the girl recognised us which is amazing considering the amount of people that must pass through their doors.
Another real bonus is that you can walk via a connecting corridoor to the Casino-not to bet but to take advantage of the multitude of restaurants to dine at-all at very reasonable prices. There is also a movie theatre if you have some spare time.

Dear guest, yes you may store your luggage with us at Metcourt Suites until you return, however not for longer than a week at a time. If the time would be longer there are locker facilities available at the airport at a fee, kind regards. (For individual guests only, for group luggage there would be no space)

My card was swiped to hold some money, when I checked my statement I see amount is deducted, but not refunded at the check out time. Please refund the amount asap, as I had no dues towards you during my stay.
My stay was very good at your hotel, but when saw this deduction, found it disappointed.

I can't answer that- but there were several mainly franchise restaurants inside the casino complex.
