Incredibly clean, quiet rooms + comfy beds + FIVE STAR customer service = I'll definitely be back!

My sister and I stayed here in late July and loved it! We got a bunk bed room upstairs - the room was very clean and comfortable with a shared bathroom/showers (also super clean!) just next door. We never encountered any trouble accessing a bathroom whenever we wanted for showers or to use the restroom. The place was also surprisingly quiet - we didn't hear any of our neighbors at all.

Overall, everyone we met on staff was incredibly friendly and all around helpful! A few examples: Originally, we only booked 1 night, but changed our plans last min and they were so wonderful accommodating our request for an additional night. When we couldn't seem to get a reservation at our #1 dinner location (AJ's across the street), Driftwood staff worked their magic and managed to get us in with only a few hours notice - talk about A+ concierge service!

I highly recommend this place if you're looking for clean, comfortable accommodation with great customer service at a reasonable price!

We felt right at home as soon as we walked through the door. The Driftwood Inn is an historic, family-run inn with the best location for walking to Bishop's beach or through the quiet streets of Old Town Homer to find yet another excellent dining or shopping experience. We stayed in Room 1, upstairs, in the original building and it was like being in a nice stateroom on a ship. Clean, airy, quiet and restful. It was relaxing to hear the happy chatter of families riding bikes and walking through town in the daylight hours, or waking to the sound of white crowned sparrows and robins in the nearby trees. The beach was most excellent and provided great entertainment for all ages. We enjoyed tide-pooling, watching kite flying and surfing, biking, running, and just strolling along until it was time for a siesta in our room, or curling up with a great read from the local bookstore. We went home happy and rested. We loved the personalized service and feeling at home in a real Alaskan Inn. Be sure to contact the owners and let them know what you will need as they have many different rooms and will make sure to find one that is a good fit for your travel plans. We were there just before Memorial Day, so it was a quiet time. Homer gets pretty busy in the summer because it is such a great place to visit.

This was a great location as it was 1/2 walk from the water. We stayed in the shipsquarter room which had bunk beds and was VERY small, but we were informed of that when we made the reservation. It was a perfect economical stay as we aren’t ones to be in our rooms much except for sleeping and showering anyway. Everything was sufficient and clean. I gave the stay 4 stars instead of 5 simply because the room could be updated. What does make it a 5 star stay in the staff - WOW!! WOW!! They went ABOVE and BEYOND for us - they booked our water taxi reservation, made our dinner reservation (without us even asking). There were numerous little things that Mark/Prissy/another lady (blonde) that I did not catch her name that did for us! Even though we received limited housekeeping services, we received a text asking if we needed new linens/trash emptied etc. Fantastic place to stay! You will have no regrets staying at the Driftwood Inn!

My husband and I only had one night to spend in Homer and we were lucky to choose the Driftwood Inn for our night. We walked on the beach in the evening, saw an eagle fly right over our heads and land nearby. We had a wonderful halibut dinner on the spit, a couple salty dawgs. I was delighted to have a latte made specially for me the next morning as we enjoyed a light breakfast and again explored Homer. The owners let us use that BBQ on the back deck for our lunch and they kept my husbands many lbs of fish frozen overnight. Overall, very comfortable, homey, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We highly recommend the Driftwood Inn.

The ladies who checked us in were wonderful providing detailed information on places to eat, visit etc. They also helped us book a fishing trip when our original plans were cancelled due to weather. My 3 sons and I stayed upstairs in their "economical" rooms without bathrooms. While the room was small and cozy, we were able to stretch out in the outside and living room areas to relax and eat our dinner when we brought pizza from the nearby Fat Olives restaurant. The bathrooms were very clean and we seldom had to wait. Unfortunately, our room was next to the stairway so we did have a couple noise related issues with people walking up/down the stairs & talking loud in the early morning ~ 4am and 5am and coming in very late ~3 am and talking.
We were thankful they RV park area for us to use. Overall a very friendly place and great location. The crepe place across the street was wonderful and the views of the beach were fantastic. We like having easy access to the beach to stroll.

The Driftwood always takes great care of us! Living in Seldovia, we sometimes get “stuck” on the Homer side due to weather, ferry delays or cancellations, and the Driftwood always finds a way to get us a great room at a reasonable rate! We’ve been staying here for over 22 years and there are always new improvements, and upgrades to services! We appreciate your care for us locals, it’s nice to be welcomed back! We love the daily dose of positive inspiration! We totally enjoy being able to eat across the street at AJs steakhouse, which is so yummy, and also owned by Alex and Adrienne! The Driftwood’s location is fantastic as it’s close to the beach and other eateries! Thank you for all you to do make sure our stay is always perfect!

This was a great place to stay overlooking Bishop's Beach. I was camping in an RV and the shower/toilet, and washing machine area was clean and warm and toasty. The staff in the office was fantastic and they even dried my long underwear when everyone was out of quarters at 11 pm. Hot tea in the office for a donation is a biggy in the morning. Also great breakfast and dinner food right across the street. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This was a wonderful RV Park located right on the water! It is attached to an inn for those who do not have RVs or campers. The laundry area, showers, and bathrooms were all clean. The view of the bay was fantastic. And the staff were both friendly and helpful. As I was trying to back my camper in for the very first time ever, one of the staff members came out and helped guide me in. The tips he provided helped on the rest of the trip when I needed to back into a space. The location has several restaurants within walking distance and even more within a short drive. Highly recommend.

The Driftwood Inn Old Time Lodge was the perfect place for our two night stay. We enjoyed having our own bedrooms, beautiful view, and convenience of a kitchen. After fishing all day with Norm’s Fishing Adventures, it was nice having two bathrooms and laundry facilities to get cleaned up. Rikka worked with us along with her lovely staff, Shauna, Priscilla, and Maria, to give us a 5 star experience from accommodations to excursions! Thank you for making our visit to Homer so memorable.

If we could give a 10-Star rating we would!! From the moment we booked our stay at the Driftwood Inn’s Bluff View lodge and upon and during our stay, we were treated like royalty!! The spectacular views from our room took our breath away to say the least! Absolutely everyone, everyone were so incredibly professional, attentive, caring and most of all… the friendliest, most knowledgeable folks we’ve met in a long time. This was our 4th trip to Alaska but our very first time to Homer and what a wonderful surprise it was for us (coming from Vegas). Our incredible fishing trip with Ocean Hunter Charter, our memorable visit to the Kilcher Homestead with Sunrise Kilcher and Bear Viewing Tours were ALL booked and made possible through them, as well. Their follow up and attention to detail went above and beyond every step of the way. They never skipped a beat…What an awesome and refreshing vacation it was especially, after having been quarantined for months. It was like we died and went to heaven!
Our only regret is we wished we could have stayed longer because they literally became like “family” to us!! Extra special thanks to Adrienne, her precious daughters, Terri & Mark, Marie, Rikka and Pricilla. Hence, we surely WILL return!! By the way… let me also add, that their restaurant across the street (AJ’s Old Town Steakhouse) was absolutely amazing too – The food was unbelievable!!! We would happily recommend the Driftwood Inn to anyone coming to this great city of Homer, Alaska!! Thanks so much for a memory-maker that will last us a lifetime!!

Hi there, We have a variety of rooms. The majority of the rooms have private bathrooms on suite in the room. However, we do have 9 rooms that are boarding room or euro style where the bathrooms are down the hall. There is a sink and a mirror in each room so there is never a long wait for the two bathrooms. Not sure which pictures you are looking at; but each description outlines the on suite verses the Euro Style. Hope that helps; feel free to call anytime 907-235-8019 to clarify descriptions. Warmly, Your Driftwood Inn, Innkeeper

Hi Mairead, I think you will find the Driftwood Inn perfect for getting to know Homer. We are located within walking distance of the grocery stores, library, dining, Islands & Ocean Visitor's Center, the Pratt Museum and the Chamber of Commerce. Bishops Beach is just steps away for morning or evening walks. You could catch a taxi out to the spit to visit the Seafarers Memorial, Salty Dawg and the shops. I hope that helps. Safe Travels! We are a very small park so reservations for July is an excellent idea as we fill up fast that time of year. We also can help you with fishing charters and bear viewing. Safe Travels:)

does Driftwood have a breakfast included?
Answer from YourInnkeeper

Sorry we don't offer a full breakfast. We do have "economy" breakfast that is priced nominally; $1.50 for milk and cereal, etc...mainly for families traveling with small children. Coffee and Tea are complimentary. We highly recommend both Maura's and Two Sisters Bakery located very close to the Inn that have wonderful options for breakfast. Hope that helps:)

Hi Jasmine, There is no hot tub; however room 30 features a king suite with a large jacuzzi tub and walkout balcony with an amazing view. We recommend Sea Glo located here in the heart of old town for all your spa needs. I hope that helps😃
