Nya is a design hotel encased in a chic tropical garden that merges into the jungle of Montezuma with unique wildlife. Nya takes pride in its wide variety of endemic and introduced trees and plants that do an outstanding job at attracting incredible amounts of wildlife like agouti, howler monkeys, the capuchin monkey, coatis, iguanas, as well as beautiful birds. With quirky and calming designs by young central American architects, Nya wishes to complement, rather than compete, with the exuberant beauty of Costa Rica's nature, hoping that our clients get to enjoy at its most what nature has to offer in our setting. Each room has been created with care to detail, allowing our guest to have a peaceful and nourishing time while enjoying the view from our all glass windows that overlook the forest and at times the ocean. Most of our rooms have a balcony or a terrace where you can sip on a glass of wine while you enjoy the healing sounds of the jungle.

This was my second visit and was as amazing as the first. I traveled with my partner this time and would recommend for solo or with someone. The staff is accomodating, warm, and welcoming. The hotel is comfortable and they think of everything. It is steps from the beach and town but quiet at night. A ton of wildlife surrounds the hotel and makes the experience so much better.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Nya and would love to go back! The staff is very friendly, the modern design of the rooms is beautiful, the a la carte breakfast is delicious and the location is great - right next to the beach and the main street of Montezuma. It was also lovely to see monkeys, an iguana and a squirrel by the pool in the afternoon. The grounds are beautifully maintained and I also enjoyed a very good yin yoga class (at extra cost) in the beautiful outdoor shala. The only things I missed were a table on my terrace and a large mirror in the room.

This property opened fairly recently. It's very clean, beds & linens are excellent and the dinner chef really knows how to turn out deeeelicious food. Hotel style is very modern & sleek& spacious. There was an error with our booked room assignment when we arrived but the evening manager - Adrienne - fixed it right away with no problems at all. He made us feel welcomed & comfortable as soon as we got there. The standard room they first gave us had only one double bed and was quite small but the cost was reasonable. We had booked a room with a queen bed so Adrienne quickly transferred our bags to one with a queen & bunk beds that was supposed to be for a family but it wasn't booked for that night so we got lucky.

5 days was not enough time to enjoy the pleasures this hotel provided. Located in the rainforest, steps away from the ocean, and hidden waterfalls a short walk down the beach. The room was comfortable, extremely clean, all toiletries provided, including natural insect repellent. Rooms are cleaned in the morning with turn down service in the evening with sweet treat waiting when I returned for the night. Restaurants, shopping, activities available with a 1-2 minute walk down the road. The food offered on site was excellent, wide variety including local specialties. The staff were friendly, courteous, knew everyone’s name, and always available for any questions or to just chat. Beautiful yoga studio, overlooking the rainforest with the sound of the surf heard everywhere on the property. We saw white faced monkeys, howler monkeys, geckos, iguanas, friendly local dogs, cats, and so many others. While there, I rented an ATV and toured the area, visiting beaches, waterfalls, and a local bakery, and a zip line tour over and threw the rainforest. They had constant, strong internet (best in that area), left an umbrella outside my door when rain was expected. I cannot wait to come back!

We stayed at the old Luz De Mono for 10 years and was sad to see it go. But the new hotel Nya that took its place is modern and beautiful. The restaurant is steps from the beach and set back in a lush tropical garden that feels worlds away from the village of Montezuma. We brought our family with three small kids and they had kids menus that were also coloring mats. So that was a nice touch. We had the steamed coconut milk appetizer, fettuccini Alfredo with a cream lemon sauce, and the half roasted chicken. We had a few delicious cocktails as well. Restaurant is at the top of the price category in the area but the food was worth it with well seasoned entrees and generous portions. We will be back.

The place itself is gorgeous: peaceful, chic, and an oasis of tranquility. The hotel is designed to fully immerse you in nature, surrounded by luscious tropical vegetation, the occasional monkeys traveling back and forth on the treetops, and the sound of the ocean so close you feel as if you are right on the beach. The cleanest, most pristine rooms. And what to say about the staff, who were just amazing, extra attentive, and welcoming. The hotel front desk arranged our trips to a bioluminescence site that was just incredible, safe and mesmerizing. They also helped with our day tour to Isla Tortuga, where we were treated to whale sightings, incredible snorkeling, and lunch at this secluded and paradisiac island 40 minutes away from Montezuma. The hotel also has a beautiful restaurant and a great bar next to the swimming pool, overlooking the ocean. We didn't take advantage of the zumba and yoga classes, but they have that and more. Each room has either a small private patio or a beautiful balcony for relaxing at the room, in case you don't feel like going anywhere; they also have hammocks that are kept clean and strategically placed all over the place for the comfort of their guests. Everything here is ecologically sound and in accordance with the good-environmental practices of the region. This place deserves more than five stars because of the amazing location and the impeccable service. Internet service was also great, and we were able to work every day from the hotel without a single incident. Loved it!!!!

Spotlessly clean and very cool. Beautiful, modern hotel in idyllic setting. Peaceful pool area, bar and restaurant. Breakfasts cooked to order. Very helpful and attentive staff. The new local chef offers tempting high class menus for lunch and dinner, though we did not sample them as they were a little expensive.

Stayed for 3 nights and wish it could have been longer. Didn’t want to leave. The hotel is in a great location at the end of the main Montezuma strip so nice and handy for town but also tucked away quietly. The setting is beautiful with gorgeous gardens, hammocks and monkeys in the trees. The pool area is fabulous. Lovely place to relax. The room was modern and spacious with a patio and comfortable bed. It had everything we needed including safe, A/C, hairdryer, tea/coffee and lovely toiletries in the bathroom. We loved the extra special touches like the afternoon delivery of a delicious pastry. The breakfast was wonderful and there was a fantastic selection on the menu to choose from. Would definitely recommend this hotel. I feel that it was the best value for money in our whole Costa Rican trip. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else if I returned to Montezuma.

The small boutique 17 room hotel provided excellent service along with clean, tastefully decorated rooms with comfortable beds.
An oasis of peace and tranquillity, situated amidst lush tropical gardens full of flowers, fruit and wildlife and only a few minutes walk to the beach and centre of town.
The on-site restaurant Ubin owned by award-winning and critically acclaimed Chef Keilor Sanchez is a real treasure. Chef Sanchez and his team created exquisite breakfast and dinner dishes that did not disappoint. We highly recommend visiting the restaurant. If you are in a hurry, relax as great things take time to create, and the single waiter also doubles as the bartender.

This is by far the best appointed hotel we have stayed in in Costa Rica. The excellent service started when we checked in and never stopped. The room rates do not reflect the high value that you get the restaurant was beyond great. Cloth napkins are rare in this country but not here. The included breakfast had a wide range of fine options including house smoked salmon. We come back here to the Hotel Nya in a heart beat

"Watch outs - price of water and yoga
The beach on the far side of the town isn't great, a bit grubby - so head left - past the Montezuma letters on the beach rocks"
There are more places to choose from in the Montezuma area.
