Just spent two weeks at Hotel Chili’s , really more like private bungalows than hotel rooms. A+ Staff headed by owners Michelle and Alvin they really have a great eye for detail so everything‘s been thought of already , so you can just be left alone in a really tranquil and peaceful setting., Beautifully landscaped serene beach side bungalows, really well-maintained and clean rooms and a super nice and thoughtful staff that are always there if you need anything but leave you alone which is what I liked . Thanks again Alvin and Michelle for your hospitality!

Now that I've stayed at Chillies, I would never go anywhere else in Roatan. They offer low cost housing options in the best of settings. The hotel is situated directly in front of the beach. You can make you coffee in the morning and go drink it on the beach :) The cabins are located in a super dreamy tropical garden with trees, flowers, birds and butterflies. Just walking to our room was magical! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is connected to a dive center where you get discounts as a guest. The rooms are simple, clean and spacious enough. The shared kitchens have basic supplies, you might not be able to do extravagant cooking projects, but you can definitely cook for yourself if you are on a lower budget. The hotel is centrally located in West End, so provides easy access to restaurants, bars, stores, taxis...

I was looking for a little get away during Covid times, and I found this little and very affordable hotel in West End. The location was perfect!
Right across the beach, with a Dive shop in the property, and a local bar next to it. This is all I needed for a GREAT vacation.
Chillies is a perfect place for you to stay, if you want to stay in an eco-friendly place, where you don’t mind not having air conditioning, or hot water. Anyways, is an island and you just sleep feeling and hearind the sea breeze...
Alvin, the owner was very helpful and hospitable all the time, and also he offered the service to go to pick me up to the airport (for $25).
I’m planning to go back soon!!!

My wife and I stayed in two different cabins over 4 days and really enjoyed our stay here. The cabins were just as described online. The gardens were beautiful and there is a small restaurant on ground for a great breakfast or lunch. The staff were very helpful- they give great suggestion, let you keep keys / valuables at the desk, and let us leave bags before check in when we went diving. There is a shared kitchen as well for those who wish to cook / store food.

My friend and I took advantage of a non-work window during early October and chose to enjoy a little paradise by diving the colorful coral reef at Roatan, Honduras while relaxing at Hotel Chillies for the week.

Our stay at Hotel Chillies made our diving with Native Sons simple and seamless. Very reasonable rates and the simple, local decor enhanced our time relaxing in the tropical sun. A couple of dives, a filling lunch, and a good book make it very hard to get out of the hammock. In between naps I could look up and see and hear parrots in the trees overhead. Hummingbirds would zoom by then light on the many flowers in bloom.

An unadvertised feature with Native Sons and Hotel Chillies, which have the same owners, is the onsite local eatery called Yahongreh. The cook, Marisol, quickly and competently provided short-order local breakfasts and lunches, along with tasty real fruit smoothies to us hungry divers and other people in West End.

As I have dove with other dive shops in Roatan, I continue to use Native Sons since I encountered them in April of 2018. The environment for their guests is setup for success. I woke up, threw on my board shorts, and walked ~30 seconds to check my dive gear that Native Sons has readied for inspection. Then another ~30 second walk has brought us to the clear waters of the Caribbean, we board our dive boat, and head out to another of the many dive sites available. Bring your own gear or rent with Native Sons who have all you need to enjoy some SCUBA diving. They also offer many different dive certifications and during our week of fun, dive master Eddie introduced a young couple to SCUBA diving. Seeing their smiling faces after their dives, experiencing a new world with rays, moray eels, and a multitude of marine life, was really gratifying. We had underwater visibility up to 100ft on most of our dives. A real pleasure from our normal Pacific Northwest/Puget Sound diving.

I never thought about work the whole time. :-)

We stayed for over a week at Hotel Chillies in the Mango House. It was a beautiful property - the gardens are well taken care of and full of beautiful plants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the on site dive shop and little restaurant. Michelle was very great at communicating prior to our arrival - we had planned to travel March of 2020 and she was very accommodating about us rescheduling. The location is perfect - right across from the beach and close to restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Mango House was great because we had our own kitchen and porch area as well as a little more space. We did not use the A/C but it was available. It was very reasonably priced as well! The rooms were clean and well taken care of. They also were great at helping us get our required COVID tests to return to the US. We loved our time at Hotel Chillies and would definitely stay here again! Thank you for a wonderful week!

The location right on the beach is great! Upfront they also really tried to help us fixing a shark dive, unfortunately there wasn't any but they responded very quickly on our emails. This was really helpful for us so we could decide to do a regular two tank dive with Native Sons which is in their front yard.

We stayed at the Mango room and were pleasantly surprised about the size, the kitchen, bathroom and little porch were also great and contained everything we needed. We ran out of cooking gas Sunday early morning and they fixed it right away so we were still able to make some breakfast before we had to check out. We would definitely be coming back when diving on Roatan.

There's only some room for improvement for the front desk as she seemed more interested in her telephone than the guests.

I had a great time staying at Hotel Chillies. Amidst COVID, I felt very comfortable as they had taken precautions to keep things sanitary and safe. They were very helpful with getting to and from the airport and helped me with any questions I had. Highly recommend staying with this locally owned and run family business on the island.

If your looking for a major resort, to be treated like a guest, served breakfast in bed, and be treated like a tourist this is not for you!
BUT,
If your looking for a place to be home away from home,
If your looking to feel like part of the family,
If your looking to be welcomed with open arms…
If your looking to have a great piece of paradise, privacy and meet amazing people, then this is 100% the place for you.
I have never been so excited to leave a review.
This hotel, is nestled in an amazing jungle garden. The cabins are so cute, and have an amazing home like feel to them.
Even with no a/c they are so cool, I had to use a blanket.
The staff are so friendly and ready and willing to help any time, even with spider removal ;)
This hotel is very fair in price, and Michele is amazing. Always quick to respond with any requests, no matter the time.
The grounds are very well kept, clean, and the shared kitchen is well kept as well.
The fridge is cleaned regularly, and everything you could need is ready and available. If they do not have it, they know where you can find it.

August is hot and humid but great for water activities. We are in the center of West End so lots going on in easy walking distance, restaurants, shops, bars, diving, snorkeling from our beach. Taixs do island tours or you can rent a car for a day to explore. You can catch a boat taxi from the bay to get down to West Bay beach.

Hi, I'm sorry but we do not allow dogs at the hotel. I have 3 of my own and they would probably bark the whole time with another dog on the property.

We currently do not have safes in the rooms but I am thinking of getting some lock boxes made. All valuables can be left in the rooms. They all have dead-locks and our cleaner has worked for us for years.

There was no need for ac. Lots of windows with screen and the fan was doing a good job. Gilles

how are the mosquitos this time of year? Did you need a net in the cabins?
Answer from Kersten S.
Cold Spring, Minnesota8 contributions1 helpful vote
I had no problem with mosquitos! Sand fleas can be a little worse at sunrise and sunset! Also if you are in and out of the salt water I would make sure you do a fresh water rinse, sand fleas like the dried salt water. I do have to agree with all the other people, Chillies is a great lodging option and have screens on all the windows. I would bring bug spray, it does get a little costly if you were to buy it there.
