Stayed here in this resort June 2017. Since we got in an early flight, we arrived in the resort way before our check in time. We wanted to check in early because we also have a diving trip that day but we weren't allowed to check in instead they put our luggages in the reception area for safekeeping.

The room was comfortable and clean with good ventilation. Air conditioning was working properly as well as the hot and cold showers. The resort is also well located to many activities that you can avail in Mactan area.

What I dont like about is the resort is their service, they were not as accommodating compared with the other resorts that I have stayed on. The staff did not help us in bringing our luggages in our room and felt everything was self service. Also important to note is the breakfast per room is only for 2 persons even if you specified in the booking that there will be 4 adults staying in the room. Our stay could have been better if staff showeda little ounce and friendliness and courtesy.

This resort is in a beautiful location for views and out of the main streets. It has fairly nice rooms and the bathroom is average. The problem with the place is the staff especially the front desk lady. She was rude, no help at all and really not interested in anything but sitting on Facebook on her phone or computer. Also we paid for breakfast with our booking and we only got two mornings free. The breakfast was disgusting. Ordered the omelette with ham and cheese it was sitting in a pool of oil and the plastic cheese cubes were not even melted. They also told us we only had one day where we could get our rooms made up which is ridiculous and we had to especially go to the front to ask for new towels and more toilet paper as we only got given one roll for three of us for 3 days. This place had great views and a great beach and restaurant at our door step just needed better and happier staff.

Bluefins resort is located on the water in Lapu Lapu, it is a bit secluded but you can find restaurants and stores about a 5 minute walk away. I recommend Oiran Japanese restaurant for good food and a very enthusiastic staff. The hotel restaurant provided a good value on food and the included breakfast was good enough. I stayed during the week and it was quite quiet but I heard it gets very busy during the week, as the adjacent beach is open to the public.
All in all a good value for the location it is in.

This hotel is just TERRIBLE. I have stayed there for one night with my husband and son, due to the fact it is pretty close to the airport. The next day we were supposed to fly to HK at 6 am in the morning.
I don't want to speak about about the dirty sea or the dirty beach, this I don't mind. But the room was very dirty, the mirror it looked as it hadn't been cleaned for a few months, the towels were not white anymore, but gray. I got the feeling I shouldn't touch anything in that room.
We wanted to eat something, we went to the restaurant, but was empty and looking so bad, that we finally decided to call a taxi and go somewhere else to eat.
The whole hotel looks like a brothel, used for prostitution.
At night the TV from the reception is very loud, if your room is close by, as ours was, you can barely sleep.
And the worse is that we finally left early in the morning, but now both me and my son have some sores/hives on our entire body. Probably the sheets weren't clean either.
Now I am sorry I didn't listen to my husband and changed the hotel as soon as we arrived.

My husband and I stayed here over night on two separate occasions on stopovers in Cebu and were booked for a third but decided to cancel as it was that bad. Yes it is a bubget hotel but we have some standards. The beds were hard as rocks the blinds broken and the curtains so thin it was like day light in the rooms and we couldn't sleep. The bathroom was dirty and full of ants then to seal our horror an enormous cockroach ran over my husbands leg while we were watching TV. After that we decided we could not face going back so even though we lost our full payment we agreed To book elsewhere. I had booked there so we could go for a walk olong the beach but there is no beach and it's a long way away from anything else. We also booked to be near the airport but it's over 30 minutes drive away and that's not peak hour which our driver said was much worse. The provided breakfast was ok just fairly basic and that's the best thing I can say about the place. I think it's more for local travellers not people from over seas.

Who rated this resort excellent? Maybe for the couples, yes. For solo, absolutely yes.. In my experience with my friends who booked online 4 rooms for a relaxation but turned to a waste of time for joy...we arived noon, a time for guests check out...but, we have to wait for 2 hours for time of check in..i begged for a vacant room for where we can stay together aside from being at the lobby...then after couple of hours, we just get in..For sinner, there plates are for rent 10php each..expensive viand for 2 for 280php as least price..no rice included and drinks...time for breakfast for 2 only per room...8 of us ate, 4 of us just coffee not for free.. So i would suggest this is not a good place for enjoyment...water activities are not on their own services..it is a business of the other...1500 per 30mins in motorboat...the resort has poor beach...swimming pool meters away from their gate...sucks!!! So for group accomodation, do not dare to go here..even for family affairs... Solo and couples is just ok...nothing more...,

great value for the price of the hotel, right on the beach, you can go island hopping and snorkel, (we paid 3000 pesos for the boat all day) paragliding (2000 pesos each). you can go buy groceries outside the hotel about 10 minute walk. you can go eat close by to maribago grill, they have good food there. room was ok, the a/c is loud but its cold, good tv. my experience was good there. i would go back there. also, you should go to Oslob to swim with the whale sharks. transportation for us cost 4500 pesos 3 hr transit each way.

I made no reservation.just walk in.no problem getting a my choice room although it was sunday. Here is my frank review about the resort.

Location:Not faraway frm the airport.about 30 mins or less depending on travelling hour.It cost less than 300 peso by metered taxi.

The rate:P3500 peso per night I considered quite expensive. No complimentary drinks or snacks.no wifi in the room.

Room:Very spacious.Clean and bathroom come with bathtub.I chose room with seaview and balcony.Very good im happy with it.

Staff: Are helpfull and frendly too.

Breakfast:Not that good but no bad either. There is one restaurant next to the resort that offer good foods and open till midnite.

What can you do: Islands hopping..scuba diving..jetski riding..and many more sea activities you can find there . Of course plenty of seafoods to enjoy.

so as couple staying for 2 nights there.i can say im quite happy.. overall.

This resort is not faraway from the main road.so getting taxi..tryclecab or multicab not a big problem.

The only good thing is the room.bed is big and shower is spacey.beach?nevermind.pool?so-so..the staff is unfriendly and unaccommodating.we had to call frontdesk twice just to get extra floor mats(the ones in the room looked used and was sandy).the food is pricey and menu limited.lastly, i woke up to employees playing music on their phone and talking loudly(they were at the back)!i went there to relax but i definitely did not get that!i am never going back..

I stayed here for a day whilst waiting for my flight to Manila. I was offered a room inland that I rejected for one overlooking the sea. It was clean and tidy. The beach here is strewn with green seaweed that the staff were making a never ending attempt to collect and dump around the next bay. The beach is yellow sand and rocky as you enter the water. I went for a swim and was then shouted at by the jet ski owners if I wanted a ride.... which I didn't. They weren't persistent about it...so I wasn't unduly bothered.
A few hours later the jet ski had been towed up near my room and ran on dry land pumping exhaust fumes into my room. Nice!
The site is untidy with plenty of derelict rooms nearby, plastic strewn in the undergrowth and out of bounds coast that are privately owned. More rooms were under construction.
There is an ugly ship permanently moored off the coast associated with a tourist yellow submarine thing that goes along the reef.
The WiFi on!y works near reception, the router that serves the rooms was busted and probably has been for years.
I only ate a salad and a sandwich when I was there, both were drowning in dressing and it if wasn' t for the fact I was starving, I would have fed them to the fish.
Mactan is a dump. It is a dirty, rubbish and graffiti sprawled place. I have never seen so much graffiti in the Philippines than here. Get a boat and go to Bohol.

No wired internet, unfortunately. Try to the first 2 rooms closest to the lobby and you should be able to pick up the wifi. Wifi can still be picked up at the 3rd room, but the signal is poor so connectivity tends to drop out.
