Devon, United Kingdom
I’ll start with positives as there are many. It’s a beautiful location with rice paddies in the centre. Do bear in mind they are not always lush and green but despite this there are loads of lovely birds to watch and amazing crickets and frogs sounds at night. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms vary quite radically. We needed one family room for three people and when we got there, they had jammed three single mattresses into a tiny room. They upgraded on request, but at first said they couldn’t as they didn’t have any empty rooms. I booked all deluxe rooms but they varied wildly. Not really enough wardrobe space for 2 people and no drawers… we were staying just over a week. The location is very nice considering how busy and overrun Ubud is. Very minimal parking, so I did have my car parked there for most of the time and it wasn’t too much of a problem. I had to leave the key at reception.
The hotel is essentially a U shape at the top of each leg of the year is a swimming pool and the bottom of the U there is a swimming pool. The right hand leg at the top has the Reception area and breakfast space and a lovely pool. The left-hand leg has the restaurant and another pool at the top of it. But…There is no heart to this hotel… There is nowhere to really gather as a group near everyone’s room and we were 13. in order for me to get to and from my room, I needed to do 75 steps in total. Luckily my mobility is good but none mentioned this when I booked all these rooms. It’s very spread out though not at all
Private and a bit strange. Creaky floors are weird…The restaurant and pool was so far away from the other side of the U that I literally stayed there for a week and never went there. The rooms are a bit tired I think and need some upgrading. I understand that Covid has made this not happen quite as quickly as it should have, and I think the staff that I spoke to agreed that some things needed to be improved. The pools are nice and clean. Breakfast is not that interesting… In fact, I would say the food is not the best. Room service is quite frankly terrible… The two times I ordered a coffee and a Coke to be bought to our room it took half an hour each time before they were delivered by which time I didn’t have time to drink them because I was busy running around looking after my group. To be fair to them, they really upped their game with breakfast when I said that I didn’t think it was as good as the hotel we stay in Sanur where we had just spent two weeks. It was a buffet style set up which we shared with with another couple of small groups. There are so many nice things about this place, but it’s just a bit odd… For example, when I wanted to have an empty plate taken away by room service. They said they couldn’t take it because it had come from a different part of the hotel! so I ended up having a dirty plate on my table all day… These are just small things, but when you’ve paid thousands of pounds for booking 13 people into a hotel, it really matters. In short I’d definitely stay a day or two in future but sorry to say I definitely won’t be bringing a group here again

Very comfortable rooms, wonderful pools (although we only used the one right next to our rooms), varied breakfast and wonderful, wonderful staff. Also, the hotel offers two water filling stations, which means less plastic! Our local friend selected this location because it is convenient yet quiet -- and it was!

A very rustic hotel with a padi field right in the middle. In the morning, you get up with the sound of birds chirping and rooster crowing. At night you can hear frogs croaking in the dark. A very countryside feel when it is only a short walk (100 metres) from the busiest parts of Ubud. There are 3 pools to swim in and massage spa in the vacinity. It is also only minutes walk away from some of the best eateries of Ubud. Probably the only negative point is some of the furniture and fittings look tired and worn out.

We stayed away from the main entrance on top level which was quiet and with a nice view of rice paddy.

Bed was hard but surprisingly comfortable, pillows good, shower good. Room was basic but had everything you need.

If I had to make any suggestions it would be nicer towels (thin & a little ragged), also, the curtains did not block out early morning light.

Overall a pleasant, great value stay, breakfast was good, as was the service.

Hotel exceeded our expectations! The staff were amazing!
i traveled with my friend and we booked the bamboo house for 2 nights before moving to seminyak. It's nice that they had a Twin Bed Room at the Bamboo House too. The Bamboo House located quite a distance from lobby but the staff helped us to carry our luggage so we were relief. We liked our room there even though we had quite a short time staying in the resort. One morning, we went out for a quick breakfast at the restaurant by the pool and when we arrived back to the room, our room was made up already! Fast and impressive! if we go back to Ubud, we will definitely choose this hotel again!

We stayed in a bamboo house for 2 nights. They view and the location was beautiful and convenient but the house was very noisy. The noise from nature was great and we loved that. Frogs, crickets, geckos etc but the actual house was very loud. Creaky stairs that felt like you were going to fall through them and you could hear other people walking in they’re bamboo houses too. The bed was very hard and the sheets scratchy. 1 of our pillows had mould on it too that we left by the front door so that the cleaners could see when they remade the bed but they just left it there.

I stayed at Biyukukung for 3 nights. This hotel is very comfortable with views of the rice fields. Natural sounds of nature will also accompany our rest. The staff are very friendly. And the breakfast is also very healthy. We will stay here again when we go to Ubud.

I travelled to Bali alone, hoping to find some peace of mind and different life vision.
I spent one week in Seminyak and Nusa Dua, but none of them made me feel like Ubud experience.
Checking on the internet for a place to stay in Ubud, I found Biyukukung Suites and Spa. I liked it because it looked authentic so I booked it for 8 nights.
arriving there, I found myself in a piece of Heaven in the middle of the jungle.
I stayed in a villa, on the ground floor with a small terrace in front. Room was spacious and very clean.
The best thing which made every day better was waking up with the rice terrace view on my window and frangipani flower smell in the room. And going to sleep in a crickets and frogs concert, directed by Geckos.
Breakfast was amazing and a lot of choices including international and Balinese options with fresh made juice and fruits.
Being alone I thought that would make me feel a bit strange, but actually I was never eating alone :). Very nice people working in Biyukukung talked to me everyday helping with advices and information about the Balinese culture.
Everybody was extremely nice and helpful. All of the people I met are part of my great memories which I brought with me back home.
For me, Biyukukung position, infrastructure and people played an important role in My Bali experience and after few days, I even managed to spell correctly the name of the place :).

Hi Linda, sorry for late reply. I would recommend "jeans spa ubud" instead of biyukukung if you are just looking for spa treatment. Their service is very good and they provide pick up and drop off service. Do make reservation before you go jeans spa as they are always fully booked :)

Yes, they can book transfer for you, but not trust in theyr booking, you can find lots of taxi when you exit to the airport station.
