Bamboo Beach is a very peaceful place in Puerto Galera. Located in Dalaruan, a small village in Puerto Galera and situated close to Puerto Galera pier, diving shops and beautiful beaches, Bamboo Beach Resort is second to none as a peaceful place in Puerto Galera or anywhere else in the Philippines. The resort has two family houses and a third house with two separated suites. One house on top of the beautiful, sloped garden offers splendid views of the sea, with Puerto Galera on the left and the Chinese Sea on the right. Both houses and the two suites are equipped with double beds, old Filipino-styled furniture, refrigerators and shower rooms with toilets. All the cottages are made in native style, with sawali walls and nipa roof. The windows has beautiful kapis pattern and is made of narra. The cottages have cool marble flooring and a big veranda made of bamboo. One unique feature about Bamboo Beach is that it is a small, private resort accommodating two families and two couples only. It is away from the city and is an admired alternative to the other busy and crowded beach resorts in Puerto Galera. Consequently, it is fully booked during most of the high season, and advance reservations are recommended. You can feel at home while away from home and you will never get tired of watching flowers in the surrounding area or the great view over Puerto Galera. If you are looking for a peaceful place in Puerto Galera or anywhere in the Philippines, we are sure that this is the best place for you. The tranquillity of nature and the ocean fresh air brings absolutely different ambience compared to other resorts in Puerto Galera and the whole island of Mindoro. "The Peaceful Place in Paradise" is only here, and will always be here.

Booked here to celebrate anniversary, great place to relax, beautiful scenery and accommodating staffs. they help us to a get a boat just for 2 to explore the gallera's ocean in affordable rate. beware that the hotel is quite far from the beach night life. you can rent a motorbike to have your way there. 500/24 hours.

simple, no frills, away from all the noise. ideal for travellers seeking peach and 'me or us time' on an island...the sea bed is rough..not ideal for swiiming..you can consider going to other nearby beaches though....the location is right on the beach, if you bargain well...a nice cheap cheerful deal is definately on the way..like i got, even on a long weekend

just returned from puerto galera yesterday, my fiance and i stayed in a secluded simple resort at dalaruan, puerto galera 15mins walked from Coco Beach. The resort is a beachfront but not ideal for swimming but better stay in bamboo rather in white beach (the beach is no good and it's too crowded). The room in Bamboo cost P1,000 only good for 2 and family room P2,000 good for 5. the only thing i didnt like in the resort they dont have a restaurant but the good thing is you can go to coco beach and pay P200 for the pool pass, the P200 is already consumable of food and drinks and you can stay on the resort to swim and use the pools. the room is not air conditioned but it's really airy and the room is really relaxing. kuya ben and his wife is very accomodating, you can even ask them to cook for your meals (of course you have to pay them). on our 1st day we went for snorkeling in long beach and pay him 800 (we were only two, for 5 persons it's only 1000) in long beach we rented a boat for 150 for snorkeling and 50 for the shoes cause you cant walked there with you barefoot. i think it's practical to stay in bamboo and then just go to coco beach for your lunch or dinner and swim. trust me the other beach are really no good, cocobeach they have good one and aninuan but the rooms are quite expensive. so there! but if you want to go to white beach and see the crowd, you can go to muelle and from there hire a tricycle for 150 that will bring you to white beach.( they dont even have white beach was disappointed, the beach have a no good aquamarine sand). always bring money when you leave the resort.

how to get there?
go to muelle puerto galera and kuya ben will fetch you there(P300) for the roundtrip transfer. Good for 2-4 i think.

We stayed at Bamboo beach resort and the place is so serene, perfect for a relaxing vacation.

Owners are very nice and accommodating. Offered us a day tour at Bucana Beach just accross the resort and luckily we owned the beach to ourselves that day!

A nice place to relax and the scenery is picturesque but if you're into an activity and planning to explore the beauty of Puerto Galera, you should not stay here. First, it is far from any restaurants, no available food in the resort itself. You should buy raw foods in the Muelle Port then go back to the resort and let them cook it. Second, the caretaker did not entertain us well, even the extra bedding was not provided. Third, the room is not that clean. There are lots of "bokbok" falling on our bed. The "duyan" is unstable. Fourth, we experienced several brownouts and we are not aware of that. They did not inform us that brownouts are normal in their place and we should expect it to happen. Fifth, it is far from the white beach on which you can find lots of water activities such as Snorkeling, Kayaking, Jet Skis, Banana Boats, Sailing, Swimming, Wind Surfing. Also the famous fire dancing during the night can be watched only at the White beach. We traveled almost 30 minutes from the resort to the white beach.

BUT IF YOU ARE A NATURE LOVER AND JUST WANT TO RELAX YOU WILL SURELY LOVE THIS RESORT.

For those looking for a quiet place to stay in Puerto Galera, Bamboo Beach Resort might just be the perfect fit for you - away from the noise of other usually-crowded places like White Beach. You get a great view of the sea while having your meal at a nipa hut in the garden. The caretaker can cook the food for you during your stay at an affordable amount (we like her cooking!), or you can do it yourselves if you want to. She's also very accommodating during our stay; we can ask her anything we need and she'd gladly assist us.

I really had a good sleep in this place, too, since it's very quiet and not too hot or cold. The morning view is so refreshing. Complimentary breakfast is just okay.

Perhaps the only problems we encountered were no electricity for several hours (no generator) on our 2nd and 3rd day. It's a con for you if you're into partying in White Beach or exploring other places during your whole stay in Puerto Galera since it would require a banca trip which would cost 250 for one way, and doubles to 500 for night trip. That's only to and from Muelle port, you'd still have to go take a tricycle to White Beach. If you're a group of 4-6 and your budget permits, that wouldn't be a big deal anyway like in our case. Also, I think their price list for water activities and island hopping are a bit high (P1800 for 2 persons, for all activities like snorkelling, underwater cave, giant clam, etc. plus around P800 per beach like Long Beach for island hopping). But anyway, the service was okay and we enjoyed the activities so I guess that's good value for money.

Overall, I'd recommend this place to those looking for a place to stay when going to Puerto Galera.

If your in a trip for beach bum mode this place may not be right for you. Very far from everything, night life in puerto galera is located in white beach or sabang. To go to white beach you need to take a boat to muelle which cost 250 per trip and doubles after 6 pm. From muelle port, ride a 150 php trike to white beach. If your into late night beach party, staying in white beach would be best. Though swimming in area would be difficult since waves may be very strong.

Back to the resort, rooms were dimly lit and linens were quite soiled. Towels provided were also torn. No restaurants or food stalls around the area. Swimming isn't also recommended in the area because of the rough sea floor. It a very secluded place since the only way going to the resort is by boat. Some good points about the resort is if your into a nice quiet place this place may be good for you. Also, free breakfast may be availed anytime during the day but its just a piece of ham, fried egg and 3 pcs halved white bread which didn't satisfy us after a tiring swim in the sand bar and snorkeling along the coral reserves. Overall, I do not recommend this place if your in puerto galera for a good swim or a great night life.

"The family suite (good for 5 persons) is a nice room to get. It has a veranda, a hammock, round table, TV, and nice view of the sea. The seaview cottage is placed on the higher ground, and it's too tiring to go up and down from there compared to the family cottage."
