This is definitely one of the top hotels to stay in Seoul. The hotel appeals to travelers who want a nice room and convenient location but with a mid-range budget. I’d highly recommend this hotel – especially for families as the residences are very spacious and comfortable.
Location wise, it's very convenient. Just 1.5 hr from Incheon Airport via airport limousine bus # 6001. The bus stop is just a min walk from the hotel. Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station is 4 mins walk away. There are many eateries and convenient stores around the hotel.
I stayed for 5 nights in a Residence Deluxe 1 Bedroom with King Size Bed. The room is super spacious at 53 sqm with a comfortable King-sized bed, sofa, work/dine area, en-suite shower and kitchenette with washer, dryer, induction cooker, microwave, rice cooker, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle and fridge. Basic cutleries, cooking tools, wine glasses, laundry detergent, washing detergent and sponge are available. Two complimentary bottles of mineral waters are also provided daily.
Breakfast buffet is served at Food Exchange on the 20th floor. It offers a selection of food items from different cuisines. Choose from local delights like fried rice, beef bulgogi and bibimbap or more Westernised food items like omelette, sausages and ham. My favourite is the golden crispy hash brown. There are also live cooking stations that serve noodles and eggs. Although there’s little variation day to day, but in general, the breakfast is delicious and sufficient.
Last but not least, all the staffs in the hotel are extremely helpful and nice. We were especially thankful to the concierge staffs who helped us to book taxi and provide directions. They speak good English too. We felt so welcomed and happy during our stay. Their impeccable service left a lasting impression that will surely bring us back in future. Thank you Max!

1. Front desk : 5 out of 5 Exceptional. The first impression from the hotel front desk made me very happy during my family's entire staying. She was so professional and knew how to support guest to feel comfortable. Special thanks to Luna (Ms. C.Y. Oh) at Novotel Dongdaemun.
2. Room condition : 5 out of 5 Very clean and well equipped. Especially, bed is so comfortable and there was no noise during the whole night from next doors.
3. Other facilities : 5 out of 5 Uniquely, there are two separate swimming pools in this hotel. Each pool was connected by stairs. Upper swimming pool is located on the top of the building (Open outsize area) and lower pool is located in 20th floor. (indoor style) The good thing is upper swimming pool allows adult only so, it is good for the couple travelers who want to have cozy relaxation on the sun shine bed. Lower pool, it is perfect for the Kids! Also, there is well equipped gym in 20th floor also.
4. Breakfast buffet 5 out of 5 It is too much enough for the breakfast with reasonable price. When you hit the QR code, provided by hotel, you can get the discount ticket.
5. etc. : 5 out of 5 There are plenty of safe and interesting place you want to visit near the hotel. Every place is located in walking distance like shopping malls, Street food, Restaurant, etc. Oh, I remember one more good staff - Dennis at concierge (1st floor) - he recommended nice restaurant to my family. I had such a great experience with the kind staff at Novotel Dongdaemun! I was in Seoul to attend a K Pop concert and wanted to try my hand at winning entry into one of the live music chart shows. However, as the website was in Korean, I needed help with this. One gentleman in particular assisted me with translation and signing up to enter. It was a huge relief to be able to get this help from him, even though I ultimately did not gain a spot to attend the show.
I also needed to print something. The hotel has an office/study center and they do charge for printing. But I was just printing out an email confirmation, which was only one page, and the woman working in that area kindly did not charge me for the time spent on the computer nor the printout.
Prior to arriving in Seoul, I had purchased a voucher from a third party service for a discounted KTX (bullet train) service from Seoul to Busan. Unfortunately, I could not figure out how to book the actual train and seat I wanted to take. The concierge desk, who was also unfamiliar with this particular company's voucher called KTX on my behalf and was able to explain the situation. They let me use the concierge phone to talk to an English speaking representative at KTX so that I could redeem my voucher and book my trip over the phone.
Finally, I needed taxi service from this hotel to a different hotel in a different part of town where I was spending the remainder of my visit. The concierge desk selected a driver who had excellent English language skills (my Korean is very rudimentary), even though I had not made any special request for this. They just did it out of courtesy and consideration for me as an English speaker.
Aside from the staff, I found the hotel to be immaculately clean and beautiful. Although the room itself was a bit smaller, this is to be expected in a large city such as Seoul, where most interior spaces are smaller compared to in the United States.
Due to all of the above as well as the proximity to the subway station, I would absolutely stay here again.

We love the location of the hotel, it was within walking distance of the DDP station, which was an interchange for 3 lines. The 1st floor lobby always smells fantastic and the concierge team was always welcoming and greeting us even if we were returning close to midnight.
We stayed in the residence deluxe room which came with kitchen amenities and a washer. The washer truly helped when we needed to wash some things. It was a 3 single-bed room and one of the bed was pretty close to the bathroom door but the room in itself is spacious and the bathroom space is huge too.
Housekeeping was always great, so returning to a made up room every day was a wonderful feeling. During the last day, there was a small issue with water drainage in the shower but the team came and settled it swiftly.
After we checked out, we left our luggages with concierge and did some last minute shopping. We were thinking of booking a cab on our own to the airport but decided to ask concierge if they could help us book one. They quickly got to work and booked a big car for us and continuously updated us on the whereabouts of the cab.
It was a wonderful stay! I will definitely consider returning if I am planning to stay in the same area again next time!

The hotel is very clean in a great location where three subway lines of Seoul city were nearby and you can easily access the whole city if you want.
Actually, I have stayed in Novotel hotel in Paris before and this hotel is very big and new.
The staff are great and helpful, the pools with stunning views
We stayed for 9 nights, 4 nights in the hotel section and 5 nights in the residence section, when changing my room, I asked the reception to give me a room on the same floor and check-out and check-in so that we are transferred from one room to another. And they did, and thank you very much.
The rooms are literally soundproof
The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was the repetitive process of breakfast without any change. In fact, the breakfast was of good quality, but after 2 days it became repetitive and there was no change in the food. I recomended this hotel to everyone who can pay for staying.

In 2015, I stayed at Novotel Hotel in Daegu and it was pretty good so I decided to stay at Dongdaemun. My wife and I were there from San Francisco starting end of Nov. 2019 thru early part of Dec. 2019. We reserved a deluxe room and it wa worth every penny. We really loved this hotel. 1) the king size bed was so huge and comfortable, we slept like a baby. 2) it had two rooms One living room/dining room with sofa and dining table for 4. and a bed room 3) it had all the silverware plud pans and pot to cook on the stove. Microwave too 4) it had a laundry machine (washer and dryer). We were there for 10 days for my wife really like doing the laundry there. So convenient. 5) It has two shower sprinklers. One from the wall as the normal shower and the other one is from the ceiling. It felf so relaxing to have water pouring directly to your head. 6) it had a remote control for toilet. I thought it was odd at first but it was so convenient after one day. If they sell one in the U.S., I will definitely buy one. 7) there are many eateries including starbucks within a block radius. We especially like the Chinese restaurant right next door. We went there 3 times for lunch. 8) Dongdaemun was about 10 min walk. Since I was there in winter i really didnt like walking there but my wife just love shopping and she had no problem walking there. She used to walk slower than me but she was walking faster than me there to shop...haha

I have been comfortably residing at the Novotel Ambassador Hotel Dongdaemun while on long term assignment in Seoul. In of itself, the Dongdaemun area has a lot to offer; it's safe, has very convenient commuter connections, good inexpensive eateries, and within walking distance to an abundance of shopping, a large cultural museum, historic Gwangjang and Myeongdong markets, Namsam tower, etc.
The Novotel has been a great place to both reside and work out of. The hotel is very well maintained, continuously cared for and has amenities a plenty. The residence rooms are very well appointed, spacious, clean and comfortable. The food is of high quality and there is more than one location in the hotel to have a coffee/tea, meal, or cocktail with coworkers, friends, and family.
Above all the staff at the Novotel, from A-Z, are truly incredible! They are truly Superstars! They are all professional, bright and knowledgeable. It's like having an army of personal assistance for whatever you need. They are engaging, help get you on your way, make you comfortable and help keep you informed. They follow all COVID protocols, and ensure others do as well. From the Front Desk, to the 20th floor, and especially the Executive Lounge, the staff are exceptional and make the hotel feel like home.

I stayed in a studio residence suite and it really made my 10 day stay enjoyable. It had a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer and Nespresso machine and was thoughtfully arranged for suitcases as well as storing clothes. I liked the fact that Accor planted 2 trees for every night you didn't have a sheet change instead of just pocketing the money so made it very easy for me to support the environment. Amenities were fantastic: both pool (indoor as well as outdoor) and gym were probably the best I've seen in a city hotel. They even had a dry sauna which didn't seem to be used at all. If you are planning on swimming laps, bring a swim cap and be prepared to visit at 7 if you want it all to yourself! Many restaurants as well as shopping are nearby. I stayed in the Lotte Executive Tower on my July trip to Seoul and, although it was much more luxurious, the Novotel's amenities (combined with the in-room washer/dryer) made this stay much more enjoyable. I definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again on my next trip to Seoul.

The bathroom and toilet was kind of inside the bedroom, with a sliding divider. This is unacceptable for a 5 star hotel. The room cleaning service wasn't good with staff leaving, instead of removing, trays of food from the night before and glasses, and not washing the room glassware or cups. Overall the staff were polite and friendly but the restaurant was incredibly expensive when the buffet menu barely changed from day to day. The room was quiet and the room and hotel were otherwise well kept

I was staying with my young son and sister-in-law at Novotel Ambassador Dongdaemun for six days and it was a very pleasant experience. It wasn’t easy to find a room for 3 pax and Novotel gave us a room with 3 beds in the serviced apartment block. The room was clean, spacious and came completed with a well equipped kitchenette and washing machine which was a lifesaver for days when you need to wash the dirty clothes or cook a quick simple meal for the kids.
I especially love the spacious bathroom which has a separate toilet and shower area. The only little gripe that we have was that the housekeeping wasn’t that thorough in cleaning or tidying. But that’s not a big issue for us.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a spacious and clean accommodation in a convenient location in Seoul.
