It was built as a mansion, during the last years of the Ottoman Empire and has recently been renovated as a boutique hotel retaining the original design and look. From Tulip House you can see the sea on one side and a lovely little street with children playing games on the other. There is a nice backyard where you can have your fresh breakfast and evening tea.

What a difference the hotel personnel makes; everybody at the Tulip House is soo nice, they are all over you bringing comfort and attention constantly. The rooms are clean, the place is cozy and warm, and even the guests are of the same kind; everybody very nice.
From the manager to the rest of the employees, to the housekeeping services, all make a great and warm team that makes your stay a great experience, kind of home feeling, away from home.
Loved the Tulip House and will come back!

It is a very neat hotel y a block full o other hoteles. This is the only Inés that has flowers ay the entrance. Recepcionists are there 24 h. They are very helpful. They speak English well enough to solve anything. They offer you water, coffee and tea at any time. The place is clean and the rooms have air conditioner. I would suggest them a boiler so that you can make your own coffee or tea in the room. Haggard Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, the Cisterna Basilica, etc are pretty close to reach in a short walk. Lost o places to eat around.

it was a real surprise to discover a very nice hotel in Istanbul.
Location is quite good nearby all the turistic attractions.
Rooms are a little bit small, but bed is confortable and big enough. TV is also small but full of Turkish chanels, which is good.
Personelle was very kind and polite and so helpful with everyone.

I don’t know where all these positive reviews coming from. This is not a “Hotel”, it barely passes as a Hostel or what some call a Motel. The rooms are nestled in an extremely outdated building that looks like it could give out any second and crumble. Only thing it got going for it is the location, in the heart of Sultanahmet district, only a few minutes walk to most historical attractions. Travelers beware, the whole district is a tourist trap, you will definitely be paying 5-10x the amount for anything you buy here, whether it’s food or gifts.

My experience with them began at a sour note. I was mis quoted a higher per night charge by their staff over whatsapp. Upon arrival I found out the actual charges which was lesser than what was quoted earlier. However the staff was extremely rude and told me to either pay the higher price or to leave the hotel at 4AM. Their staff continued to be extremely uncooperative throughout my 10 day stay there. Despite booking for my 10 day stay in advance they kept changing my room frequently. The condition of the rooms was deplorable. Matters covers had various stains and odour. Room service was non existent. Rooms lacked hygiene or proper maintenance.
It's an extremely old and outdated construction with very very small rooms, no lift and the staff was beyond horrible. Rooms did not offer mini bar. Or fridge. The towels offered were dirty. The intercom system was broken. The break fast served was mediocre at best.

All in all a terrible experience wouldn't recommend to anyone.

+ Good location
+ Great view from our room
+ Good breakfast
+ Good stuff EXCEPT the manager!

but

-- The wonderfull view is not in all rooms, depending on the price. Make sure you have paid what you are waiting for!

-- The room was very small

-- There is no elevator, but no problem for young people.

-- We stayed for 2 nights, there was no cleaning room for us, further more, there was access to our room for building work reasons, so we were astonished to find our room very very very dusty with footprints inside the room.

-- The manager was very very arrogant and dishonet in the check-out because he wanted to charge our friend one additionnal night eventhough we informed him in the check in that he will stay for 2 nights. There were no valid reservation before! Instead of speaking kindly with us, he was very angry and very impolite toword us! He did'nt even say goodbye when we were leaving!

We had booked this hotel 3 months in advance and that too room with balcony, to enjoy our stay being in the center of the city. However to our surprise, when we reached there it turned out to be the worst experience of my life. First of all, we booked hotel pick up service, but the driver could not find us nor did we, because he was holding the name of the hotel as "Art Inn". After 5 calls to the hotel, we gave up and asked one person who was roaming around since long with "Hotel Art Inn", surprisingly he was our driver. So anyways we reached to the hotel after waiting on the airport for about 45 minutes. After our arrival, they were just delaying our check in by conversation and offering us something to drink etc... When asked if there is a problem, they said everything is in order. After spending almost 20-30 minutes in the waiting area, they started showing us our rooms and there came the biggest shock. They started showing us rooms without balcony and very small too. Also the stairs were scary and from the window you can see nothing. When asked about room with balcony, they started giving excuses and told us that last minute there was some problem and that there is no other room available but these. They offered to reduce the price by EUR10 per room. When we argued with him that it is not acceptable, they started behaving as if we are being unreasonable. Hotel Staff treatment was unacceptable and we decided to leave the hotel and stay anywhere else but in this hotel. They agreed not to charge the payment on our card but they reported to Booking.com that we did not come at all and it shows as "no show" status. We received an email next day about charging us for the room but after calling Booking.com it was sorted out.
After coming back I read reviews but the bad experiences were reported only by certain nationality people which shows their discrimination in service.
I would never go back but would urge others too not to go here. There are many other hotels available cheaper than this one and with better hospitality.

It was our first trip in Istanbul and we were very nervous about everything!! We'd searched a lot before we made the rezervation at Tulip House Hotel. First of all, the location is perfect!! It's only 5 min from Ayasofia and Blue Mosque, everything is nearby!! Furthermore, staff was great!!! they were helpful, kind and most of all really pleasant!! They made us feel like home... In addition to that, the room was better than we expected!! it was big enough, there was cleaning every day, hot water all day long and ,the most important, it was very warm during all day and night! we went the first week of February so the weather was cold enough but there wasn't any problem with that at the hotel room...Finally, breakfast was rather excellent, with lots of traditional plates, fruits and turkish coffee for everyone in favor!! we are really looking forward to go again in Istanbul and of course we are gonna choose Tulip once again!!!

We stayed here for 4 nights in our trip to Istanbul as a referral from a good friend.

The free airport pick up was a great and made our arrival much easier as the hotel is roughly 60 mins from the Airport.

Our room was good, clean, cosy with air conditioning, mini-fridge and cable TV. Though I had trouble find English speaking channels!

While the room was small, the bathroom was very adequate with plenty of hot water. We faced the street and being within a 5 minute walk from the Blue Mosque the daily prayers can be heard clearly.

The breakfast was included in our price and we ate it on a nice terrace, overlooking the sea and a beautiful mosque. The food was good and had a great selection of fruits and bread. Tea, coffee and fresh juices were also included.

The hotel is very nicely located, on walking distance from all the major attractions, including the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and the Hagia Sophia. That makes it a good base for exploring the city on foot. There's a lot of small cafes in the area and also a good selection of restaurants to choose from.

Hotel Tulip House is a good place to stay in Istanbul, nicely located, with good and comfortable rooms and a tasty breakfast. I do recommend it and probably will stay there again when I return to Istanbul.

I have recently stayed in this hotel for five days. The location is very good. It is close to all main tourist attractions in Old City and Eminonu like a main starting point for exploring other important locations and attractions.
The room was big and very nice with big and comfortable beds. I recommend that you take room with sea view and balcony (rooms on the last two floors), especially if travelling in Istanbul in no-winter time. Keep in mind that there is no elevator.
The breakfast is maybe little bit repetitive after few days, but good enough.
TripAdvisor's good rating isn't without reason.
I have no complaints and I recommend this place.
