Labadi Beach Hotel is lauded for its exceptional beachfront location and expansive, well-maintained grounds, creating an ideal setting for holidaymakers. While guests are fond of the luxurious, spacious rooms and commend the overall cleanliness, some have noted the need for updating showers and managing noise levels. The hotel's amenities, including the pool, spa, and dining, are appreciated, yet there are mentions of subpar WiFi and maintenance. Although the professional and friendly service is generally praised, it's not without occasional lapses. Additional costs and slow service are cited as drawbacks, alongside the over-loud live music for some visitors.

Room rates in hotels like Labadi Beach or similar are as high even the standard is not like European 5 stars, but you pay for safety too. The rooms are fine, enough for single or double use. Huge variety of breakfast, nice bar to sit and also the outside bar invites to stay stay for one or more drinks. Good burgers, good buffet and all with friendly staff.

Free wifi, but works better in reception area, a very impressive wide variety free breakfast, with Pork free alternatives, and a very nice pool.

My reservation was handled by a gentleman called Philip Adu-Mensah, he’s your guy! Patient, organised and confident communication, I had to move my dates and my price match was honoured.

I am hopeful that the Owners of Labadi beach realise that it is not the facilities that has made my stay so special but the staff. Florence at front desk, seamless checking in process, Emmanuel Our Porter, so helpful, and welcoming with a great big smile, Dennis Our lifeguard who saved the day and rescued two little ones in the pool.

Management: The beach needs cleaning, cigarette butts in the sand and the Sun loungers need replacing, fabric is worn and needs a good clean

I moved to this hotel after being in a much less quality property in the area. This hotel gave me everything I needed. The check in process was seamless which was great considering it was such a busy New Year/Year of Return week. The hallways smell so nice. The standard room was a great size and looked right out to the pool.

The bed was nice and fluffy. The bathroom was spacious and the showers were a welcome respite from the hot sun.

The pool area is large. The loungers are over a lot of dirty in front of a pond that can get a bit stinky sometimes. The staff is likely not used to demanding American tourists, so you may have to nicely flag them down to take your order and present your bill.

I got a very affordable and quality massage at the spa. The breakfast buffet had a lot of variety and the beach food options are also very tasty.

The property is on a nice stretch of Labadi Beach. During my time, there were very huge nightly parties. This did compromise how much daytime beach area you could use because they needed to clean up from the parties. But it was perfectly fine since the pool area was so nice. The night parties were pretty loud so I'm sure that was an issue for people with families. I was only there for one full night so I made it work.

I would absolutely stay at this property again. It was of high quality, so comfortable, and just really made for a great end to my stay in Accra.

In chronological order:

1.) My airport pickup was twenty minutes late — as they were waiting at the wrong terminal, despite having my exact flight details. 👎🏻
2.) Check in is at 14:00. I arrived at 16:30. Did not get a room until after 17:00. 👎🏻
3.) Beach access was blocked to make room for a “pop up beach club” with 250 Cedes cover fee. Laughable. 👎🏻
4.) Zero chairs or chaise available at the pools. 👎🏻
5.) Waited 10 minutes to be seated at he restaurant and than after another 25 minutes without so much as a glass of water, I had walked out. Finally ended up at the smokers' sports bar, only to sit at a sticky bar stool where at least I could place a food order. 👎🏻
6.) Falafel plate ordered at 19:50. Falafel plate arrives at 20:18. It was actually quite tasty. 👍🏻
7.) Food outlets are strewn with dirty glasses, dishes, utensils and plastics. The property looks like it was hit by a cyclone.
8.) Way too much activity for the infrastructure; a full house of guests (sleeping triple and quadruple occupancy), plus two weddings, an eightieth birthday party and Accra scenesters come for the illustrious day club. 👎🏻
8.) As I finished dinner and returned to my room people are flooding onto the property. There is no possible way these are all guests. Way too many visitors on-property.
7.) Can’t fault the staff, they clearly have not been trained in customer service. Front desk had no idea how to manage my feedback and the restaurant server was like a deer in head lights when I politely and calmly explained I would have to move along to another food outlet. 👎🏻
8.) The rooms are new, clean and well furnished. Property layout is pleasing but suitable for about two thirds the visitor load. 👍🏻
9.) Doorman/concierge Clemen made an unbearable situation just barely tolerable. 👍🏻 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
10.) Housekeeping staff are wonderfully pleasant and refreshingly diligent — especially in contrast to most of the other departments. 👍🏻
11.) I like to complimentary refreshments in the room. A nice touch. 👍🏻
12.) Free Wifi works well. The bellman quickly hands you a note with the passcode at arrival along with water.
13.) Water refills from the fountain in the fitness centre if you care to avoid single-use plastic bottles.

A group of 10 friends stayed at this hotel from Dec 27th 2019 to Jan 2nd 2020.

Pros:
• The grounds were good, the location was perfect for beach parties, and the staff were friendly.
• Okpoti provided us with the best pool bar service.

Cons:
Where do I start? I don't recommend this hotel for large groups.
• The hotel rooms weren't ready until after 3p.m on check in date. Some of our group members arrived from the U.S as early as 9a.m and had to wait until 2:30p.m in the lobby.
• The hotel kept running out of ice. This started on the 27th and continued until the 1st.
• The staff seemed overwhelmed and took long to provide service at the pool bar and restaurant. Sometimes, we'd wait for 30-45 minutes for a waiter to come and ask us if we'd like to buy any drinks.
• On Jan 1st and 2nd, the hotel required those lounging at the pool to go and sit at the restaurant to order from the detailed menu. This didn't make sense as the menu at the buffet area had limited options for vegetarians and those who eat fish.
• At the restaurant, lunch took about an hour to serve and sometimes longer during dinner time.
• In the evening, the front desk would often not answer room service calls. This made me wonder what would happen if someone who's alone in the room had an emergency and was trying to call out for help.
• When we raised these issues with Management, they got defensive.

For a hotel that got fully booked months prior to the Afrochella and Afronation guests, I'm disappointed that they were not better prepared to provide more timely service.

The entire staff (including management) should take customer service training from a trainer who's familiar with Western world level of service. That will help the hotel to bridge the gap between the level of service that they provided us and what guests from Europe or North America are accustomed to. Otherwise, our classification of 4 and 5 star service differs.

The Ghanaian government have banned U.K. nationals from entering the country. I gave the hotel 3 months notice but they are charging me the whole cost of the booking which was a huge £750 for 4 nights- was going to be part of a trip of a lifetime. Sad that I won’t be going to Ghana, I won’t be able to afford to rebook.

I’ve already provided a detailed review to the hotel but will say that you should throw out what you know about hospitality particularly from a premium property. I don’t mean being catered to in an obnoxious way but, getting a response to good morning, good afternoon, etc. a smile, welcome, etc. Getting an iron and ironing board as an example took two days, and when it came, it was jenky and were told they’d come back in 15 min. I get sustainability and if I thought that was the reason it would be one thing, but given experience across other aspects, just another frustration.

I had an amazing experience in Ghana in spite of this hotel. Note that others who stayed at the other 5-star properties had similar sentiments about service levels but all loved the overall experience and culture of Ghana.

This hotel is nowhere near a four-star nor five-star resort. The first impression of any resort is its lobby. The art is beautiful but the space itself was very dark and dismal. We were astonished at the owner's decision to paint a beachfront property dark brown and black. It makes the property feel dated and gloomy. A huge disappointment after having such a long trip.

We were booked to spend more than one night. The sight of mould was upsetting. The scent of mould was so overbearing, we had to be moved twice, all three rooms were wreaked of mould, the unpleasant odour was especially strong in the hallways. Housekeeping was called, they apologized profusely and responded swiftly to try to correct the issue. Regrettably, even with their best efforts, the mold was still visible, the scent so strong, we couldn't stay in the room, nor continue our stay there.
What was even more alarming is that any concerned manager upon hearing a guest in such distress, would have paid the guest a personal visit, the manager did not. That tells me, this wasn't the first time, hearing of this problem, alas.
On the bright side, the wait staff were courteous and helpful. I would rate this hotel 3 stars at best.

I really had mixed feeling about this hotel. It is located right on Labadi Beach, which is the main reason while I booked at this hotel. The hotel has direct access to the beach, and that's when I got disappointed. Labadi Beach is dirty, with trash everywhere, so as soon as you see it you want to go back into the hotel. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and very well kept. There are areas that are unused, probably as a result of lack of guest due to Covid. It has two beautiful swimming pools, pool bar, gym, and tennis courts. It also has a spa. The rooms are big and clean, but the mattress in my room was uneven, and should have been changed years ago. Something you don't expect from a luxury hotel with a very hefty price. The linen and toiletries were nice. We had their breakfast buffet daily, and the food was excellent and the staff attentive and efficient. Over all service at this hotel was excellent. Still, the disappointment of the beach and the quality of the bed makes me believe that the rooms are extremely overpriced. Without the beach, the location is also not very good, since there is nothing much in that area and it's far away from food, restaurants, entertainment, and tourist sites.

My friends and I stayed 2 days at labadi beach hotel when we arrived in Accra and this was right after the Christmas holidays I had an amazing time and experience with my friends at labadi beach hotel. First of all, Ahmed from the lobby bar was an amazing well friendly enough, professional with a great attitude, good communication skills and above all an excellent customer service from A-Z. My room was always cleaned, food was on point and so delish. The pool always cleaned my friends and I didn’t wanna leave the pool side and this being our first vacation break in Ghana and as well as being at Labadi beach hotel it was such a great honor! Everything went on so well that I felt so welcomed in the hotel and never got disappointed and due to the fact that everything was well organized I will highly recommend this place to each and everyone who wanna come visit and overall I will recommend and rate Ahmed 100/100 b/c everything was on point.
