Gerofinikas boutique hotel chose Chrisostomos location right outside the village of Kato Petali, a quiet spot with breathtaking views, in order to attend to its visitors. The swimming pool and the balconies overlook the Aegean Sea and Kastro – the historic settlement with a particular architecture that tells off its medieval past – giving the opportunity to guests to gaze for long hours. The whitewashed buildings with the typical ceramic chimneys, the traditional stone walls, the yards with the Sifnian paving stones and the elegant pergolas create an exceptional ambience. It is about hospitality in a comfortable, cozy and homely space. The 12 room and suites of the hotel featuring beds of traditional architecture, simple decoration and soft colours make up an oasis of aesthetics and relaxation. Nothing, though, would be the same without the special care of the owners – a family which “embraces” guests discreetly, yet, with genuine interest. With services ranging from the delicious homemade breakfast to insider’s information on the island, Gerofinikas offers generously a true recreational experience.

This immaculate hotel provides 180 degree views of the Aegean sea and overlooks picturesque villages. The grounds are well manicured and provide exactly what guests are likely seeking in a Greek island vacation.

The room was very well appointed, with a comfortable bed, powerful air conditioning an extremely spacious and modern bathroom.

The breakfast was generous and delicious - served daily in a lovely seating area overlooking the sea. The hotel also provides a gourmet dinner service.

The staff is extremely professional and cares about the experience of every guest on the property. Try Vasilliki's famous pomegranate lemonade!

Words cannot describe this boutique hotel. Authentic, minimal with breathtaking view!! The owners (family) are professional and friendly. The rooms are very clean with spatious balconies and seaview. What was also very impressive was the cuisine of the restaurant, which included traditional meals with an interesting twist. Homemade breakfast and/or dinners were delicious! Although I travelled during the Covid-19 period i felt very safe at this boutique hotel, thanks to the high hygiene standards and the professionalism of the personnel. This hotel is the jewel of the Aegean sea. Cannot wait to go back!

We love Sifnos and we love Gerofoinikas. We visit the island and stay at Spiros ( the owner) for the last 4 years!
This year it was beautiful as always and we felt comfortable and safe because they pay so much attention to the anti Covid rules!!
This year though , we had a surprise waiting for us!!!
The new restaurant!!! Simple, genuine, refind!
Chef who knows the Greek tradition with experience in Italy. Genuine ingredients, tradition and creativity. A variety of Greek wines chosen by Vassilikh : the sommelier!
So if you dream having dinner watching Sifno’s Most beautiful panorama while experiencing Greek flavours ( in absolute safety), we recommend Gerofoinikas!!
We do love them! Thank you

If I could, I would give Gerofinikas six stars on Trip Advisor. Where do I start? Our room was stylish, super comfortable and had an amazing view of the sea, Kastro village and the neighbouring islands. The team running the place are all wonderful: Spiros and his mum, Vassiliki, Assimini and the very talented chef. They even allowed me to practise my limited Greek with them! The breakfast was amazing, with new freshly made delicacies every day. We also had dinner once in the hotel and it was fantastic, with great wine suggested by Vassilliki. The location of Gerofinikas is also a dream, in a quiet location but within a 10 min walk to Apolonia where you can find all the facilities and catch the bus to the beaches. In short, a perfect place, nothing to fault, and we will definitely be back one day!

We have just returned from a holiday around the Greek islands and our 4 nights at Gerofinkas on the beautiful island of Sifnos were without doubt the highlight of our trip.
The hotel is just perfect. The bedroom was super comfortable with a terrace that overlooked the sea, as well as a good sized bathroom.
Breakfast was excellent. Lots of little traditional Greek pastries, breads, yoghurt, fruit and eggs (including the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had) as well a freshly squeezed orange juice.
The pool is great - overlooking the sea as well as the village of Kastro with plenty of loungers to relax on.
The staff cannot do enough for you. They’re all so nice and ensure you have a great stay.
The hotel is a 15 min walk to the lovely town of Apollonia, where there are lots of lovely restaurants, bars and shops. You can also walk to Kastro in about 20 mins.
We hired mopeds one day to explore the island (I’d recommend the beach villages of Farros which has a very nice beach and a few tavernas, and our favorite - the village of Cheronissos which also has a lovely beach and a gorgeous taverna for lunch, right on the waters edge.
We will definitely return to Sifnos, and will most certainly stay at Gerofinikas. It’s stunning.

Due to different circumstances, we had to wait 3 years to come to the hotel and Sifnos. We spent 6 nights and we had a wonderful time in the hotel and on the island. Every second of the day when we were there, we were amazed of the 180 degrees view to the blue sea and Kastro. Sitting at the breakfast table, above the swimming pool, was every morning a treat; healthy and tastful products, fresh orange juice, a coffee made to your taste. Especially the typical omelet kayana and the bacon were extraordinary. The atmosphere overall is gentle, quiet and peaceful. The personal and Spiros are very friendly. They know and greet you by your name, always willing to help and to serve you the best they can. We loved our spacious room which was outstanding regarding cleanliness and an airy feeling. The terrace with chairs and a table, of course with the breath taking view too, was a real bonus. The swimming pool was the perfect area to sit, read, write, dream about this beautiful island. We felt sorry to leave!

Gerofinikas Boutique Hotel was my (and my friend’s) favorite accommodation from our 2 week trip to Greece (covering Athens, Santorini, Milos and Sifnos). The views from this hotel are breathtaking as you can tell from the photos (which I could not stop taking), and the decor of the hotel was tasteful and relaxing. With fewer than 15 rooms, the hotel was peaceful and zen-like. We appreciated getting to know some of the few other friendly guests. As avid hikers, the location worked well for trails north to Agios Sostis, east to Pangia Poulati and Kastro, and south to Faros and Platos Gialos. I only wish we had more days to hike west up to Monastery of Profitis Ilias and Kamares! It is a bit of a walk into the nearest towns (Apollonia, Artemonas and Kastro) with hills, so those who are not keen on walking should rent a car. We were fine without a car, since Spiros kindly helped us with our luggage and drove us to and from the port. Vasiliki was a gem and an asset to the hotel. She was friendly and took good care of us — frequently anticipating our every need without us even having to ask! I would not hesitate to return and enjoy the gorgeous pool during warmer months.

We had a 6 night stay to enjoy the Sifnos island during my summer vacation and we were very satisfied with every aspect of Gerofinikas . The staff are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
The hotel is very clean throughout, and our room was spacious, modern with everything that we needed. Breakfast was super delicious.
Swimming pool was amazing with nice sea view.
I found the location really good and convenient.
Gerofinikas is my preferable hotel in Cyclades islands

I highly recommend Gerofinikas for anyone visiting Sifnos island.

One of the most beautiful and charming hotels I have stayed at! We spent 5 days at Gerofinikas and were so impressed by the views, the pool, delicious breakfast and amazing service all round. We were treated so kindly by the staff, particularly by Vasiliki who is an angel and made the experience so special. The hotel is located centrally on the island and easy to walk to Apollonia and Kastro or short drives to other locations.
It was our first time on Sifnos and we would definitely return to the island and this hotel which is truly exceptional!

Generally I don't read too many 5 star or 1 star reviews as I feel they may lack a certain perspective, but honestly this hotel ( and it's staff) deserve every one of those stars. We have stayed in a lot of good hotels which are run with a pleasantly smooth efficiency but this place earns its accolades by being more, much more. The people here are warmly welcoming, they make you feel like you are more than their guest, you are their focus in the most genuine way, and when was the last time you felt like that?
The chef is a not so hidden gem, his food is wonderful; there are no bad options but you must try the fava bean spread and the crispy pork bellies, they are amazing. Vasiliki is delightful and helpful and makes excellent wine selections. Both these people have a passion for what they do and it shows. As does the genuine desire of Nassa and Spiros to make your stay special. They cannot do enough to help you, solve your problems or make excellent recommendations.
The rooms are lovely with an elegant simplicity in keeping with the environment, the bed is large and comfortable, the courtyards are a delight and oh my goodness the sunrises are spectacular.
My husband had his 70th birthday and we were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary with a month long trip to Greece and Paris and I booked Sifnos as a bit of a restful break but it turned out to be our favourite part of the trip. I would recommend you rent a car to see the island and try some of the Sifnos walking trails- there's a trail head just around the corner and down the road from Gerafinikas but my favourite was one Nassa had recommended from Faros. A visit to Kastro is also not to be missed with it's beautiful quintessential narrow streets, whitewashed houses with vibrantly painted doors. It is literally picture perfect..
Gerafinikas is hospitality at it's truest and best and I would very much like to say thank you to everyone there who made my stay so very memorable. Thank you Nassa, thank you Spiros, thank you Vasiliki and thank you Chef.

You can get a shuttlebus to the hotel - message them directly and they will pick you up. You can also cab. Appolonia is an easy 15 minute walk from the hotel if you prefer not to drive (We walked to town in the evenings to grab dinner). The hotel seems out of the way but it really isn't which makes it a hidden gem. I would recommend renting a car/quad either way though as you will probably want to get around Sifnos to see some of the beaches and hikes etc. When we went a standard car was $25 euro p/d. That was at the end of September. As for the rooms it looked to me that they all have a view of the ocean and Kastro. the pool area also has an outstanding view. Have fun!
