We had a perfect week, from beginning to end, at La Rosa dei Venti Club Hotel in Lampadusa. The service was professional, kind and personal, every single person employed by the hotel was a credit. Everything is taken care of, you just have to switch off and relax, doing as much or as little as you like. The gardens are worth a special mention, the layout is magical with meandering routes and little corners to sit in the superbly tended planting of tropical plants. The boat trips are expertly run by Salvatore and Nicola, who are not only safe and experienced sailors and very knowledgable about the best places for swimming, snorkelling and exploring but also marvellous chefs. The food was excellent, at the hotel and on the boat and the wines well selected. We had the panoramic room, which was perfect to share as a mother and daughter, but the garden rooms are very charming too. Very, very good value for money and definitely a recommendation.

I just returned from a fantastic holiday on the island of Lampedusa, South of Sicily. I stayed at the " La Rosa dei Venti Club" a hotel located on a hill on the island with stunning views of all the island and a lovely breeze which cools you on the hot summer nights. The 2 owners Elisa and Francesco were absolutely fab and very welcoming. I was alone but never felt like I was alone. They ensure guests mingle together and there is instantly a great atmosphere which is fostered by the first dinner all together on the Sunday night. The highlight of the trip however were the wonderful daily boat trips on an 18 m sailing boat. Each day a different place and amazing fish lunches cooked by Giacomo & Giacomo who are also happy to give tips and tricks to make your own Sicilian dinners at home. The water and island is simply stunning: much better than the Maldives or Carribean and no need to take a 10 h flight to get there. Connections are great from Palermo or Catania airport or direclty from Rome, Milan, Bologna.

My wife and I spent almost a week end of June.

First of all, let us say we never saw one immigrant. There are a lot of rumours around the island. Forget about.

The hotel is not on the sea but it benefits from a good view of the sea and a refreshing wind being located in a high position on the island.
Rooms are large and clean (we took a superior) with air conditioning, fan, safe and TV.
The facilities are very nice too with a swimming pool, a bar and a small gym.
Wifi is free but connection was not as good as I wished. If we really need to point at something that would be the one, which is not really that important.
The breakfast has good and fresh products mainly sweet ones, in Italian style.

The hotel offers a B&B package with or without a daily boat trip. We decided without and separately got 2 days out of 5 on the boat.
We definitively recommend a mix to visit the island from the beach and from the see (but the boat is ultimately much more fun). On the boat a great lunch is included.

Depending on the package you can have a scooter or a car. Transport from and to the airport is included so you really don't need to think about anything.

For dinner we use to take the scooter and go in one of the many restaurants on small town (5 minutes) or there is a place just 3m walking distance. The hotel was recommending them and book for us. Never had a problem

Twice a week there is also a dinner in the hotel for who chose the full boat package but that any of the guests can join for the price. Food is great. To try.

Last but not the least the staff is very good. We enjoyed a familiar environment which make you feel at home. Also on the boat we enjoyed a lovely service.

We recommend Lampedusa and la Rosa dei Venti is the best place to be.

La Rosa dei Venti was an absolute pleasure. I spent three days there with my family in July and we had an amazing time. This is a family run business that has discovered an amazing formula. Very nice bedroom with a very relaxed beachy vibe, nice breakfast, phenomenal 7 hour cruise on one of their two sailboats with a gourmet lunch while exploring the many swimming spots Lampedusa has to offer and then back to the hotel at 1730 to relax by the pool, grab a drink, enjoy your hammock and then be ready for appetizers and drinks at 2000. Wow.

First, if you are going to enjoy Lampedusa, you MUST have access to a boat. Rabbit beach is great, but you will want to get out and swim in these spectacular waters. The only real access is via boat. La Rosa dei Venti has made this a dream.

From the moment you land, they are taking care of you. They pick you up from the airport. Get you checked in, give you a small car for your stay or motorino's if that is your style, show you your room, invite you to cocktails and then give you directions for meeting up with the sailboat in the morning. It simply does not get any easier and they make every step very enjoyable.

They appear to have a dinner service at the hotel once a week. again, not to be missed. The other evening after drinks, we enjoyed taking the car they gave us into town and enjoying the local sights and food. We were shown a great pizza restaurant (The Anchor. Go visit it for a change of pace.) that fit the bill on a few nights. Breakfast was very nice. Plenty of coffee, juices, bread, yoghurt, jams etc.

The rooms were very comfortable with very nice showers. The rooms had mosquito netting in them, however, I did not see any mosquitos there. The rooms are well ventilated and there is a safe which can be used as the hotel is completely empty while everybody is sailing.

My wife and I agreed that this would be an amazing holiday if you could talk a group of friends into going. Even if you do not, do not worry, you will get put in the group and you will feel at home in no time.

On the boat, everything is taken care of. Food, drinks, water, floating mats. If you need it for water enjoyment, it is on the boat. Simply as Giacomo. And don't worry, Giacomo can cook! The meals range from simple to more complex and all are beautifully executed, very tasty and plentiful.

Now to address the rumors of the island being over run. Lampedusa was beautiful and there was no signs of any problems. Lampedusa was clean and very friendly. If I had any advice it would be to go right away and take many changes of clothing and swimsuits. Everybody went through a few changes aside from us.

You cannot go wrong at La Rosa dei Venti.

Oh, If you are booking three nights for example, you are paying for three boat trips. When you book, ask Francesca how to ensure that you can use your first or last day. Otherwise, you may potentially miss a days worth of events that you have in fact paid for.

Lampedusa makes the news lately, but for the wrong reasons. It is a wonderful
island destination, just over an hour from Rome by plane. In the midst of
the Med, off the south coast of Sicily, the island offers an irresistible combination
of brilliantly colored transparent waters and warm Sicilian hospitality. La Rosa
dei Venti combines a hotel stay and boat trips every day to the varied
anchorages tucked away all over the island.

The rooms are simple, but comfortable, with wood-beamed ceilings and tile floors,
in buildings of the natural island stone. Situated at a high point on the island, there
is almost always a breeze. The hotel offers either a car or scooter included with
your room, to travel into town or around the island. You are greeted by Francesca, the
concierge, and owner, Franco. Giovanni will pick you up at the airport and situate you in your room. I travelled solo and not only everyone at the hotel, but all the other guests, did everything possible to make me feel welcome and comfortable.
After an abundant breakfast overseen by Felice, a private boat leaves from the town to take the guests out for the day, with a wonderful lunch of local fish and produce served aboard. After lunch, read a book, take a nap in the shade or grab your snorkel and dive back into the crystal waters. Giacomo and Marco make each day perfect!

There's a beautiful infinity pool for a refreshing dip after a day on the boat or later under
the sky full of stars. Each night, staff member Tamara hosts an aperitivo hour on the patio and dinner is served two nights a week. The lively town center on the Via Roma has the nightly passeggiata, with music, bars, and shopping until late in the evening.
I truly don't know if I have ever had a more lovely or relaxed vacation. Skip Capri, Taormina and the Amalfi Coast - go where the Italians vacation, in Lampedusa!

What a great place to stay! The boat experience was absolutely fantastic. The daily excursions to the beaches and grottos was absolutely amazing. The turqoise water. It was like swimming in a pool. What was the most fun was the food prepared by Giacomo on the boat. Excellent, Bravo Giacomo!! I must not forget Marco the Sous Chef! Bravo Marco. It was a little too windy for me and the water was cool. Don't go to Lampedusa for night life or if you don't like fish. Gemma was very nice to us. She took care of breafast and the evening appetizers and prosecco. Bravo Gemma.

the boat experience was really to remember; the boat, the captain and his one-man crew, captain Giacomo was a very good cook, made delicious fish and pasta dishes, the hotel was beautiful amid the wasteland of Lampedusa, the owners were not really friendly, but the staff was, the diners included in the price of the hotel were not of the same quality as the boat lunches, 7 nights were definitely too long in the island but for 4 days with good weather it was a very nice experience, with rabitisland as variation on the boat.

When the boat anchored at the shore, someone says 'Bagna !'.
Then I dive into the clear blue―sky blue, or emerald blue― ocean.
That's all we did when we stayed.

Hope we'll come back again. It's first time for me to think like that.

Elisa and her staff know how to treat the guests. From the moment we arrived until the second we left we felt as if we were cherished guests. I cannot find one bad thing to say about the place or the experience. The only reason why I have not written this review previously is because I was striving to find the right words to compliment La Rosa.
We opted for the all inclusive package which included one meal in their amazing restaurant, personal transportation and the boat excursions daily. I would not recommend that you avoid this option. The meal was prepared by the staff consisting of only fresh caught fish, local wines and other local delicacy's. The boat... WOW! The boat. It really completes the experience. The captain and first mate (Marco and Giacomo - Hello from Texas!) made us feel as if we were family and prepared AMAZING meals on the boat. They took us to a few of their favorite spots around the island. The island consists of the most jello like crystal blue waters and the boat provided us with snorkels and fins so that we could explore the region. Every stop we made around the coastline was just as or more beautiful than the next.
I would recommend this for a romantic trip, an adventurous trip, or even a family gathering. We cannot wait to go back. As global travelers with adventurous spirits, we find it hard to plan ANY trip without the topic of going back to Lampedusa and to the La Rosa coming up in our conversation.
We WILL be back Elisa! Soon I hope.
