We were lucky to find HSH in our search for the perfect destination that was fair in price and value. It was our first time to Jamaica, and we both regret that it took us this long to visit. Negril is like the pictures you see on post cards and HSH is a great place to soak it in. We booked the ocean view room, and we’re pleasantly surprised when we arrived and found out we had a massive balcony all to ourselves. We assumed from pictures online our balcony was to be shared with other guests, but it was in fact our own private area. The moment we arrived, we were greeted by Tina’s wonderful smile, we truly felt welcome and “at home”. Charlie (the owner, who we found out had built the place 40 years ago) was also on the property, and you could quickly tell that Charlie truly cared about the experience of all of his guests and was very proud (as he should be) of his beautiful guest home. His energy and dedication comes across in all his staff (who treated us so well all week long). The room was very spacious and offered a rustic, natural and relaxed feel, which we felt perfectly matched the feel of Negril. But what made our trip were the cliffs!! Charlie’s cliffs at HSH easily compete with all the high priced resorts on the west end. From laying on the cliffs and watching boats, fish and birds go by and listening to the ocean waves crash into the rocks to jumping off the various levels of cliffs or floating in the ocean steps from your room, this place is just short of Heaven. HSH Negril was our first trip to Jamaica, but it will be a new regular trip for us until the day we can retire there.

We stayed in room 16. We paid for one night originally and ended up staying 5 nights. The owner Charlie is very accommodating and friendly. He has a wonderful woman named Tina working reservations and front desk and she has great tips for day trips and sights to see on the island. Her father Chris runs tours from the property and we took a few trips with him. You won’t find a kinder and safer person to drive around with, he was super knowledgeable and down to earth. Room 16 has views and sunsets right from the balcony and you won’t want to leave when you get there. We jumped from the cliffs every day and couldn’t drag ourselves to the beach because the property was so beautiful. We had a small kitchen with a stove, fridg and microwave to prepare meals if we felt like staying on the property. Shower had hot water and the cleaning service was very good. If you are going to Negril and want a relaxed experience without the frills of an all inclusive, this is the place to be. The restaurant will provide service, but you need to tell them ahead of time that you want to stay for dinner or they won’t be there if they don’t have enough people to serve. So my suggestion is to buy your beer and some snacks in case they aren’t open. I am so happy I walked into Home Sweet Home to check out the rooms because we ended up changing our vacation plans to just stay there. You won’t be sorry you ended up there. Please take your private tours from Chris on the property because it actually ends up saving you money and time than the tours from the internet. His van is comfortable and he doesn’t rush you if you want to hang out at a place, plus his prices are reasonable for Jamaica. You can walk to a lot of restaurants and town from this west end location as well. Taxis will drive by any time of the day out front as well. This was our first trip to Jamaica and Negril is the place to be. Other towns and cities on the island can’t compare to the beauty of Negril. This location is quiet and safe. No rowdy parties like the beach area, you will get your sleep.

Long time Negril traveler with a that enjoys the expensive all-inclusives. Went on a trip with some friends and we picked Home Sweet Home. I will be back.
I arrived a day after the group and did not get into late in the evening. Tina was waiting for my arrival and treated me with a smile. The room I got was clean with a nice view. Great air conditioner that cooled the room down quickly. Room had a nice refrigerator to store my drinks and food.
Woke up every morning with a great view. The kitchen staff headed by Bridgett and Denise offered a large menu of the usual breakfast food and served with a smile. Charlie the owner was around and would typically join me. Complimentary coffee is served all morning, which went down well after jumping off the cliff.
The staff offered a variety of excursion opportunities that can be booked on site. Beach towels are available at the office along with snorkeling gear to use.
Resort sells Red Stripe and soft drinks along with lunch and dinner. The resort is located on the West End within walking distance of downtown Negril. Walking to Rick’s is possible, but you might want to take a cab - easy to get a ride.
The property is also safe and secure. This location has 24 hour on-site security with an on duty night manager. The west end also has less foot traffic compared to the beach.

Nice views, great location. The staff is extremely helpful. The hotel needs fully remodeling. The furniture is outdated, the bathroom is in bad condition - rusty shower, moving toilet seat. This property has great potential and the management should think of having an own restaurant. Now you have to take a taxi to grab a cup of coffee or to have a breakfast.

We just returned from our much needed vacation in Negril. We stayed 4 nights on the beach and 3 nights on the cliffs at Home Sweet Home. Our stay at HSH was absolutely perfect! We had the whole resort to ourselves! The threat of covid attempted to keep us away but we decided to keep our scheduled vacation and couldn't be happier. If I was able to work virtually, I would have stayed. The owner has updated the wifi to be accessible all over the property. I totally recommend considering staying here if you need to work virtually while in paradise. Tina is the hotel manager and was so nice and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast at the restaurant. If you can, give the restaurant a heads up the day before if you plan to eat so they can prepare and have your choice readily available. We hung out with Shane, the security guard, our last night. He showed us the new 3 bedroom room on the third floor. It has a beautiful view and will be finished soon. The owner Charlie is always doing maintenance and made sure we were comfortable and were enjoying our stay. We ate at Murphy's which was fabulous. Make a reservation when you get to the island. We always end our vacations at 3 Dives for our last sunset and jerk chicken. Lloyd is going to school me on his jerk chicken preparation the next time we visit! We are so glad we went despite the threat of covid. We will definitely stay at HSH again!

I had the pleasure of staying at Home Sweet Home last spring just before COVID hit hard so my review is long overdue. Home Sweet Home will forever hold a special place in my heart. The sunset views from this property are absolutely stunning. If you're lucky enough to have a deck right on the sea you're in for a real special treat. The staff are super friendly. General manager Tina makes you feel like you're family. The maids Briget and Josephine are some of the best housekeepers in Negril. I even had a local tell me it was the cleanest place he's ever stayed. If you're looking for a clean room in a smaller boutique hotel with working AC and killer sunsets, I highly recommend checking out HSH!

The location is excellent, atop the cliffs at the west end, with easy access to the ocean down a staircase. Amazing sunset views. SUPER friendly and helpful staff. Nice hot tub. Wish I could've stayed longer.

My wife and I had an absolute fantastic time staying at HSH! Charlie welcomed us as soon as we arrived and was even kind enough to upgrade my wife and I to one of the beautiful sea view villas! The views and sunset were incredible. You are situated on beautiful cliffs with direct access to the ocean. Charlie gave us great snorkeling recommendations and we were able to see a lot of species of fish and marine life. I am also a big fisherman and this location was perfect for my wife and I. She could lay out by the pool or on the cliffs, while I fished from the cliffs. Our room was spacious, well kept, and we had our own kitchen and AC unit. The cleaning staff offered to clean our room every day as well. One last thing I need to mention, when my wife and I’s flight got canceled due to covid-19, Charlie was very gracious and ensured that we had a good place to stay until our flight was rebooked. Thank you to Charlie and the staff for making this one of the best experiences a traveling couple could hope for!

After my last visit in August 2019, I never thought I'd be unable to visit again. Be that as it may, 21 months later and Covid almost behind us, we were fortunate to be able to visit this week. This is THE place to relax and unwind and let go of this past year's stresses. Quiet and tranquil. Not fancy, unpretentious, and clean. Many restaurants within walking distance or short cab ride or their current on site restaurant which we found to be quite good. If you're looking for frou frou Jamaica, this is not for you. If you're looking for real Jamaica with exceptional service, friendly people and rooms with views that are unequaled, this is your place! Shout out to the lovely Tina, who I appreciate very much and to Dino, Bridget and Josephine. They make you feel right at home and I can't wait to get back. Love you guys, see you soon!

I highly recommend staying at Home Sweet Home when you come to Jamaica! The location is sublime - it overlooks the cliffs right on the ocean, so when you wake up in the morning the ocean is the first thing you see :) The sunsets are absolutely unreal as well. The staff were as friendly as they come and have great recommendations for places to eat and things to do when you’re there! I felt so safe staying here, and it was super easy to get around and get to the beach from this location. If you prefer a more boutique experience with a family vibe, this is your spot! I can’t wait to return again someday.
