A group of us came through last week on wheelers and got in later than expected. The owner and staff kept the kitchen open until we got in. The owner then cooked 11 steaks to perfection! The place was very clean and comfortable and the staff were so so accommodating and friendly I definitely recommend this place as a stop on your travels through Western NL.

Dhoon Lodge... without a doubt is "THE" place to stop and rest your bones in an awesome environment.... Absolutely.. quiet...the owners are an excellent representation of Newfoundland Hospitality. The accomodations are excellent...they have a Restaurant on sight..food is excellent....an RV park with full hookups....a golf course as well.....if your are facing a long drive across the Island....Stop here and experience some real Newfoundland Hospitality...we travel across Canada twice a year .and this place is in the top 5 as far as I'm concerned....so to summarize...don't waste your time and money on other local motels.....stay here ..you'll be happy you did..oh did I say the beds were perfect????.

At Christmas we like to share a special meal with our staff. We generally get take out and set up in the lunch room . This year we closed early and took our group of 13 to dinner at Dhoon Lodge which turned out to be a great choice . Good service . Delicious food with privacy and a great atmosphere. Wonderful place for any office or family event. Well done .

No hot water, rooms are filthy, and when owners are told of the issues they yell at their guests. It is a beautiful area but there are many nicer places to stay in the same area. Do yourself a favour, Do not stay here!

Hosts were rude and unhelpful. service was slow, majority of our orders were incorrect and when notified of the incorrect orders we were snubbed off as if we were a burden to them..... They must get lots of business as they do not seem to be terribly interested in making their guests happy. Also, the food was barely cooked, mozza sticks still had a cold block of cheese in them *barf*.
I would not recommend eating here or giving these people business whatsoever.

Walked into building we were staying two toilets on the floor. No air-conditioning as a matter of fact our windows had plywood on them, so no window, no pressure for water so no shower, no toilet flushing either. No toilet paper. Only met one staff member and she was rude. When we told her there wasn't any toilet paper she never provided us with more, we provided our own. IT WAS THE WORST NIGHT EVER. I NEVER SAW ANYTHING CLOSE TO THE PICTURES ON THE WEBSITE I GUESS SHE IS KEEPING THAT A SECRET

We apologize for your recent stay as it was explained we are renovating and that's why when 14 people all showed up at 9 pm from your ATV trip it's hard for a water system to keep up with everyone showering at the same time it was also explained that there was work being done in the RV park to our water system ,as for the toilet paper no one asked for more I would have gave more if I was asked thank you and we will try and improve on our renovations it is a old building and we have been renovating for the last 5 years that we have owned this property.

My husband and I popped by for a drink and ended up staying for supper with my folks. I had the Newfoundland Poutine which was delic and présented in a bowl/plate that you would find at a fine dining restaurant. My husband and father had fish and chips which was plated on a wooden board and was delic! The wine is not boxed wine and all reasonable priced. We were thrilled with the food and the service and would return and recommend anyone trying this place. We travel a lot and this was one of the highlights of this summer travels :)

My husband and I were seasonal RV'ers there for two years. Donnie and his wife were always very helpful and accommodating. An extremely relaxing place to be and especially convenient to those who like to salmon fish. Would recommend anyone to give it a try.

Wedding was absolutely beautiful... rooms not so much. Very dirty, falling apart, needs a lot of TLC. Toilet tank lid falling off after every flush and very hard to bathe with minimal water pressure. Holes in windows, sagging ceilings and smoke alarm not intact! Safety is a concern.

This is one of the rooms that have not been renovated yet sorry for for your experience but as you commented on how lovely the other rooms are we are trying our best to renovate all our rooms and this room is always in demand as it is a 2 bedroom apartment but it takes lots of time and vacancy to get it done it is on our priority list for the fall.Thank you again for your comments.

Stayed at the Dhoon Lodge last summer for a week and had the best time! The food was amazing and the staff were wonderful and very accommodating. We plan on coming back to this area in a couple of years and would stay at Dhoon Lodge again. Saw them host a wedding when their and it looked beautiful and heard great things from the guests of the wedding.
