Mrs Parton:
We stayed at Villa Margherita for 5 nights. We can not rate this hotel enough. The precautions for Covid were brilliant and we felt really safe. Masks worn by all staff and guests had to wear masks in public areas. The hotel is beautiful, clean and leads out to the front of the harbour and nearby beach. Our room had a balcony (which I would recommend for the views) it was clean, comfortable with lovely sea inspired fabrics. The pool area and gardens are really pretty and so relaxing. The restaurant food was delicious and breakfast was a great selection of continental goodies. Locally there are a few nice restaurants mainly serving seafood. You will need a car to see the amazing sights of Sardinia. We hired one from reception. The majority of the north can be visited from here with Porto Rotondo, Olbia 30 minutes drive. Fino beach is 10 minutes drive and worth a visit. Tempio Pausania is amazing with its coloured cobbled streets. We also did a wine tour at Suarru, it was fabulous! Overall what really made our stay here was the staff. Attentive, kind, polite, thorough i could go on. Reception staff greeted us by our names as we walked in, walked us to our room, helped us hire a car and were just generally lovely. The restaurant staff from morning breakfast to late evening were just incredible. The ladies and gents work so so hard and do such long hours but always have a smile. Bringing drinks to your table via a buzzer system in the evening or round the pool in the day we cant thank them enough they made our holiday so relaxing. Our room was made spotless everyday by the wonderful ladies who cleaned and the hotel looked pristine. Thank you. I'd like to also mention the gentleman who maintained the pool area and gardens. Every morning the pool and surrounding area was cleaned meticulously and he really worked hard to ensure this. Thank you Villa Hotel Margherita. We highly recommend

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Villa Margherita. Everything about this hotel was wonderful including our spacious, spotlessly clean deluxe double room, which had a gorgeous view from the balcony and a lovely bathroom with a powerful shower. The beds were comfortable and attention to detail is paid with a pair of slippers provided for each guest, together with robes and toiletries. The communal areas are kept to a very high standard with beautiful decor and the gym, pool area, hot tub and Bali beds were all a delight to enjoy. The pool is not heated but in the balmy Sardinian weather it is refreshing and very inviting. The hotel gardens are lush and filled with bright flowers and palm trees, making this the perfect place to relax. The staff are so polite and after a day or so remember your room number and what kind of hot drink you prefer, and every morning they greet you with a smile. We didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant beyond the buffet breakfast - which was great with someone for everyone - because the menu was mainly shellfish focused, which seems to be the way in Golfo Aranci, and I am allergic! But we noticed the dining area was set up each evening with a lovely ambience and I imagine the food would be great if shellfish is to your taste. If the menu had included some more traditional Italian-style food rather than the Sardinian specialities we would have eaten there. All in all, the standard of this hotel is amazing and we will not hesitate to return.

Absolutely fantastic, can’t wait to return! Everything from start to finish at this hotel is first class. Friendly and quick check in and then taken to our room and shown around. We had room 10 which was just steps away from the restaurant/bar/reception with its own patio and hot tub. It was so quiet and relaxing. Parking was no problem either in their car park or on the street outside which is all free. The hotel and gardens are immaculate. All the staff acknowledged us every time and the breakfast crew knew our drinks preferences after day 2. Honestly we were spoilt rotten. We ate in the hotel restaurant one evening, the food was delicious and they brought us a glass of the hotel made Mirtle liquor to try at the end of the meal. Golfo Aranci is small with a few tourist shops. We had gelato every afternoon from the shop just a few steps from the hotel, very yummy. The beach is lovely. The whole place is extremely clean.

We have just returned from a delightful and very relaxing 7 night stay at Hotel Villa Margherita, Golfo Aranci, Sardinia. We flew from Gatwick to Olbia airport which was about a 35 minute drive from the hotel.

Golfo Aranci is a relatively small community comprising residential properties, only a few hotels, small shops, a marina and ferry port. As visitors from the UK, one of the delights for us was that we were in a very small minority. Only two other British families stayed at the hotel during our visit. The majority of guests were Italian, the remainder being German and French. This made for a delightful mix and a feeling that, if the Italian’s gave it their seal of approval, then that was good enough for us. The clientele was mixed in age range with families with young children, some with teenagers, and couples of all ages.

The hotel is located centrally. It is comparatively small, with around 44 rooms over three floors. The pool is more than adequate for the number of guests involved and a delightfully secluded garden provides sunshine and plenty of shade depending on your requirements. Great care is taken to keep the garden and all public areas looking their best. All rooms have balconies and sea views. Towels are provided each day for use either at the poolside or on the beach, which is a five minute stroll away.

Our stay was on a half-board basis. Breakfast is buffet style with a good selection from fruits and yoghurts, cheeses and meats, croissant and rolls, and some cooked dishes. However, it is the evening meal that will impress. The half-board evening menu changed each evening. The choice comprised 4 courses with 3 options for each course. The standard and presentation were absolutely excellent. Additionally, there was no requirement to reserve a specified time to dine each evening, which certainly offered flexibility and added to the sense of relaxation.

Without exception the staff were attentive, efficient and impressive. Specific mention is due to Antonio and his capacity to remember our preferred evening tipples, and Alfredo who had a ready supply of handbag hooks for the table.

Should the opportunity offer itself, we will return.

The Hotel Villa Margherita is a gem for sure. To start with the welcome is warm and genuine and the staff are helpful and kind, we would like to give a special mention to the lovely Eliza who gave us great advice and assistance and helped welcome us on arrival. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they offered us a gift, a personalised note and drink on arrival. The location is perfect, midway between the fishing port and the three beaches so an easy walk to all the main points of interest nearby. The hotel was wonderfully clean and the rooms were bright and airy. We stayed in a standard room on the first night then moved to a lovely executive room on the subsequent nights, both were lovely but the balcony and the view from the executive was worth the extra money. The breakfast was good and had some variety, we were happy with the selection and quality. Good coffee too! The garden is well kept and provides both sunny and shady areas to relax in. In all the hotel looks and feels like the owner and the staff take pride in it and in the experience of the guests. Would definitely recommend staying here and would be very happy to return.

We had an executive spa room on the ground floor, and cannot speak highly enough about our stay.
Hotel and staff lived up to their reputation and expectations from previous reviews.
Hotel was first class clean and comfortable and the people who worked their could not do enough to make your stay, from bringing around fruit while lazing around the pool /garden ... to one member looking up how to make my wife's favourite cocktail even though it was not on the menu.
We ate in the hotel twice and the food and service were better than most restaurants we have been in.

All in all a fantastic vacation made better by the attention of the staff and management.

Central located hotel in Golfo Aranci. I think in high season it's going be crazy. They have parking garage wich costs 10 Euro per night to leave a car in it. Small parking area nex to the hotel is free, outside the hotel are a lot parking places. But in high season I think is not in enough anyway. They don't have entry to the sea to swim. For me it was a problem, because I do not swim in pool.A little farther is small beach, but in high season I think is going to be crazy crowded, because there are a lot of houses next to this small beach. Rooms are very noisy, you can hear all your neighbor's - coughing, speaking, pulling chairs and etc. If you unlucky will have smoking neighbors, you will smoke with them, my room was fool for cigarettes smokes all the time,- even at night.
The greatest value in this hotel is kitchen stuff trying to guess every wish of their guests. Every evening was different menu - the dishes were masterfully made and served with love. Thank you.

Found this hotel when looking at reviews of another nearby hotel - this hotel doesn't seem to come up on the standard hotel search engines. Booked to stay with 2 children in October 2022 and we were extremely impressed with every part of the stay. It certainly felt more like 5* rather than the 4* listed. We had a room with a jacuzzi on the balcony which was given at no extra cost.
The grounds and the swimming pool are stunning, this is matched with very helpful and polite staff. I think the general feeling is helped by it being a family hotel rather than a large chain. The nearby beach is relatively small but absolutely immaculate with clean waters and sands.
In October 2022 the prices were extremely good for the service received and we will be making repeated visits in future years. The only issue for us was that in October, much of the surrounding area have closed for winter and so somewhat limited eating options but Olbia is a 20 minute drive away which is far more lively.

We stayed at the hotel for my Husband's 60th Birthday, hence our October holiday. It was slightly out of season, but the pool was still open, if not a tad on the chilly side. The sea was pleasantly warm though. They also were not offering any poolside food, just snacks and drinks. I believe they do in the busier months. It wasn't a major issue though.
The hotel was in pristine condition and very tastefully decorated. I can't praise the staff enough, what a delightful bunch of people. They certainly made us feel welcome and were very attentive. Especially the waiting staff. We had a 4-course meal each evening, which was plentiful and on the whole the menu was diverse, tasty and interesting.
I paid extra to have a superior room with a sea view. The room was as you see on their website, but I was very disappointed with the brick wall on our huge balcony obscuring the amazing view. I am 5 foot 3 and when seated all I could see was the wall. I wish that I had asked for a room with railings, but I didn't notice them until we were halfway through our holiday. Again, no big deal in the grand scheme of things.
The resort itself is very small. Nothing much going on, but again it was out of season. We ate in a few cafe/restaurants and drank in the one or two bars that were near the hotel. We bought crusty rolls and ham in the local stores to have snacks and stocked up on some local wine, just to cut the cost down a bit. The Sardinian people were so friendly and the locals in the bars took time to chat to us (I speak Italian) and ask where we were from etc. We ventured out to Olbia by local train, only there was an issue with the track so there was a replacement bus service in operation. You need to buy the ticket from a machine at the station itself. Reception will tell you how to walk there. It takes about 10 minutes. Olbia was great for a visit, but I wouldn't want to actually stay there. I was happy to go back to my lovely peaceful resort and great hotel. I would definitely go back to the Villa Margherita.
