Accueil exceptionnel si vous aimez l'art, la famille, les antiquités et la tchatche!
Le staff/owner/manager et son equipe sont tous mega friendly et cultivés... a un tel point que chaque fois que nous venons... on decouvre de nouvelles balades.
This place is for lovers of art, and people who want to take the time to discover an old hotel with lots of history. Old time charm with charming owners! French cook wearing pearl necklace with dog - you get the idea.

I recently stayed a night here after hiking in the col du pillon region. The host Francis and his family make both me and my dog :-) feel very welcome. It is an historical hotel but the rooms have been renovated and have everything you need. I recommend a superior double with balcony as you lovely views of the mountains as well as being able to see both the sunrise and sunset. However what really made this stay special was that the level of hospitality shown by the family went far above and beyond what i expected. So thank you for a very pleasant overnight stay.

Excellent family ski trip to the Swiss Alps on public transport via train from Geneva airport. We were bedroom #14 for 4 persons - original 19th century doors / locks and parquet flooring. Francis and Carla were the house parents that catered for our every need giving this hotel a family feel. Carla cooked for us most evenings with traditional fare including house specialities Macaroni a la Pillon and risotto milanese, buffet swiss breakfast was filling and we loved getting to use the Nespresso Professional Pod/Capsule coffee machine. Francis went out of his way to cater for gluten free Mrs T. and ferried us to/from the Telecabine or bar L'Ormonan in the evenings. Thank you. We'll be back. The skiing and mountain dining in the area was exceptional.

Nice alpine hotel. But : highly overpriced. CHF 200.00 for a small room is just too much. When you enter the room there are overall signes what you are not allowed to do ( food, beverage forbidden in the room etc etc ). Restaurant was a big disappointment also. After our salad, in a bowl, very tasty, they did not change the plates nor the cutlery. I have no problem with that if I take a budget meal, but yes if I have to pay CHF 24.00 for 2 salads, and CHF 50 for 2 pasta plates. Place could be so a great one, but not with these prices and so poor service.

Response from Francis Barlier, Propriétaire at Historic Hotel du Pillon
Responded Oct 12, 2020
Thank you for this original point of view, in 14 years this is the first time that we have had this remark, finally the exception which confirms the rule. The prices are judged in comparison with other establishments in the same place, we are expensive compared to the same service in Sicily which is 1700 km away, but we are very cheap compared to Gstaad which is 20 km away. All is relative. Changing the plate between the starter and the main course is on request, when the dish is served on a main course and not on a plate. 12 frs the salad, it is not a small green salad as you let believe but a large mixed salad of 5 raw vegetables with sesame, and the pasta at 25 frs is not noodles but fagotinis stuffed with ricotta and ham . Sorry to disappoint you, we are not McDonald's, we also have to take the environment into account.

This was one of the best times we have had in Switzerland! L’Hotel du Pillon is special and spectacular. The host, Francis, provides a warm welcome and a perfect balance of gracious hospitality with erudite knowledge, especially of the art world. Wonderful paintings adorn the walls and staircases along with books and magazines. The rooms were spacious, sparkling clean with sweeping views to the snowy mountains. Perfect dog too! Wish we could have stayed longer than two nights and for sure we will be back as soon as possible.

Utterly delightful experience at historic Hotel du Pillon. We had American friends visiting us in Switzerland and they want a truly authentic Swiss Alps experience. Hotel du Pillon could not have been more perfect. Gorgeous views of the Alps and the small mountainside chalets, the little village (walkable from hotel), and neighboring small farms. Very close to Glacier 3000 which offers spectacular Alps views and activités like walking along the glacier to a small restaurant. But best of all was proprietor Francis’ hospitality. He made us feel so at home as we enjoyed the terrace, the fireplace room, and the living room. He made sure we had everything we needed for our picnic one day. And he had a great sense of humor and great recommendations for activities, restaurants, etc. We will be back for sure. Highly recommend.

We love Hotel du Pillon! It is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The rooms are comfortable and charming, meals are delicious (the macaroni, fondue and lamb are not to be missed), and Francis and team are very welcoming. It is fun to enjoy a glass of wine by the fire after dinner, and to visit with the other guests. We also like the quick walk into Les Diablarets village, as well as taking our dogs for walks along the trails by the hotel. The only bad thing about the hotel is having to leave! :) Thank you for another wonderful vacation.

Booked a double room with balcony for 1 night. We were greeted by a gracious host and welcomed. Our room was charming, quiet and simple. The wi fi signal was excellent. There is no elevator and our room was on the second floor (North America 2nd floor).

Chose to have dinner at the hotel as there is not a lot of choice in Les Diablerets. It was a charming and delightful dinner with wine. A good choice for a night while visiting Switzerland. The only improvement could be the breakfast. It was a bit too simple. Overall enjoyed our stay.

Hi, we didn't actually stay at the hotel. But I know the village well, we have a chalet in the village. It's a lovely place and I think you would find it very quiet. Les Daiblerets is a typical Swiss mountain village with much to offer.
