I stayed in this hotel for two nights in Mid-December. The room was large and clean and the reception was pleasant and efficient. The hotel was one block away from the main street and very quiet in the evening. Most of the staff spoke excellent English and most helpful. There are more than a dozen great restaurants within a 5-minute walk from the hotel and the metro stop is about 500 meters away. Great place to spend a few days in Lisbon.

What I liked:
1. Despite having to make three room changes, the staff were professional, accommodating, and helpful. The first room we received didn’t have two twin beds. To me, this was the tour company Globus not providing the proper instructions since it happened at another hotel on the tour. The second room didn’t have a working air conditioner. They checked the third room before brining us to it.
2. The reception was pretty helpful. They provided a map and gave good directions.
3. We had an included dinner in the hotel restaurant with our tour. I thought the meal was very well done and enjoyed the chicken dish. It was a nice intro to local cuisine.
4. The location is close to a subway. I thought the neighbourhood looked nice with a few restaurants across the street from the hotel. There was also a nice mall Court Ingles which was about four blocks away. It had bank machines on the floor with a big grocery store.

What could be improved/didn’t like:
1.While, the breakfast was fine and more on the continental side – I found there were too short staffed. There was only one person working like crazy trying to clear tables. There was sometimes another person at the door taking room numbers.
2. Despite the three-room changes, the A/C on the last night ended up being more like a fan. It felt like sleeping in a sauna. We assumed the problem was only our room until we spoke to others on the tour. It was obviously a problem with the entire air conditioning system. If I spent more than one night in sauna like conditions, then I would have rated it a 2 versus 3 – simply due to extreme discomfort.
3. The elevators are small and can only fit two people with luggage.

Other:
1. It is about 30 to 35 euros for a taxi from the airport. I suggest checking that the driver takes credit cards. We were told only cash after arriving.

After reading some pretty mixed reviews I was concerned about our 3 night stay. I need not have worried! It does not pretend to be what it isn't, but it is a comforrtable hotel in a good location, clean and well run. I suspect in an official listing it would merit 3 stars but because of the really excellent breakfasts, friendly and helpful staff, the thorough room cleaning daily, the very handy location near sufficient bars, restaurants and transport links I think it deserves 4 stars. I have certainly stayed in so called 4 star hotels that are nowhere near as good. Yes, there is no evening restaurant and the bar is small, but it does not pretend to be other than a modest hotel just slightly (and only slightly, unless you want a place heavy in night life) off the beaten track with decent facilities, not luxury. It fulfills this role admirably and I would not have any hesitation in recommending it for a pleasant few days city break in Lisbon.

I never intended to write this review, however with the extremely poor customer service I have received to try and resolve the issue, I believe it's best I warn those about this hotel before considering booking. The only positive I can find from my stay would be the location, the hotel is within a 10-15 min walk for most central locations and is fairly convenient.
Now onto the negatives, the rooms and style are extremely dated, the air con did not work at all during our stay to which the window had to be left open however the street can be quite noisy and busy.
The safety standards in this hotel are a complete disgrace, on my second day I went to use the hotel gym, the equipment is very basic and the area is not very spacious. The routine was going as planned until I used the TRX straps that were hooked into the ceiling, I didn’t even place a fraction of my weight onto the straps before the hook immediately flew out of the ceiling and straight onto my head. I fell straight to my knees and saw blood dripping onto the floor. My friend ran to the reception and requested help from the receptionist, who assumed it was a small cut and leisurely made her way over to the gym before realising the severity of the incident.
About 30 minutes of basic treatment was provided by the receptionist who asked if I would like to go to the hospital. I was unsure of the severity of the incident as I couldn’t see the cut but my head was throbbing throughout the incident and decided I should go to the hospital to receive more appropriate treatment. The hotel called for a taxi to take me there (to which we had to pay for) and I was treated at the hospital after being there for 7 hours and returned back to the hotel in the early hours of the morning.
After all this, the compensation that was offered by the hotel was a free breakfast for 1 morning. I’ve later been chasing the hotel on numerous occasions to arrange for a more appropriate level of compensation for the severity of the incident and have received extremely lazy replies back, with a large majority of my emails being ignored after over a month of attempting to get this resolved appropriately. It is truly shocking and I urge anyone to consider looking elsewhere before booking this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel recently for a city break in Lisbon.

Upon arrival, check in was swift.

Room was really hot when we walked in, probably around 25 degrees Celsius. Air con wasn’t working so enquired with reception who advised me it was turned off and that they couldn’t turn it on and to open the window. I told them this was not going to work as our room faced the road and it was really noisy therefore we wouldn’t be able to sleep.

Asked for a iron on 2 separate occasions and neither time did they bring one to the room. Eventually had to ask a house keeping staff who finally brought one.

Hotel is not up to 4 star standards imo.

We were there at the end of January. By the price and location, we think we found the best hotel. Its near a metro station (Parque), its on walking distance to the city centre through the av. da Liberdade. Around the hotel there are great places to eat or drink coffee, also nearly is located the famous Banksy Lisboa Museum, but enough for the location.
The service - the service was awesome. Amazing and friendly staff, clean rooms (by the way, they were cleaned every day as well as the towels were changed). For sure it will be our 1st choice when we return to Lisbon.
Thanks for the hospitality!

I am utterly disappointed with Turim Europa Hotel. We booked this hotel for my husband’s first year death anniversary. Since he’s passed away we committed to going back every year since Portugal was the last country we visited together. I booked this hotel for out Lisbon stay through Expedia (receipt attached) for two nights. As we stayed in Fatima the other couple of nights. However when we were checking in they also asked for 45 Euros deposit on top of the charges that was agreed with Expedia. I didn’t think it unnecessary since some accommodation do sometimes demand deposit although not quite common since I am a frequent traveler but nevertheless I paid the required deposit amount since I was told it is refundable upon check out. On the early morning of our check out 7 May 2024, I then spoke to the receptionist on duty and reminded them of my deposit. I was then told it would be returned back into my credit card up to maximum of 30 days after check out. However, 30 days later it still hasn’t gone back to my account. The first time I tried to get help from Expedia customer service and they got hold of the hotel they were told it was already refunded. Second time they just kept ignoring the email from Expedia, even though we sent them the receipt for the deposit. Up to this date, 6 July 2024 the €45 still hasn’t gone back to my credit card. Today is the third time that I have been told by customer service from Expedia who’s been directly contacting Turim Europa Hotel customer service /reception desk to refund my deposit. I’ve been waiting for over two months and I feel like I’m being robbed by this company. It’s not even a huge amount but it’s the principle that they should return what is rightfully owed by them to me. I wish they would be honest, as I feel like being defrauded by Turim Europa hotel. I am certainly not going back to this hotel next year if this is how they treat their customers

Very bad experience with the hotel. After arriving late in night (11PM) and checked into this hotel. I would rate the room we had was below average and not o bed side worthy of a 4 star classification. Room was dirty and AC was not working. Despite of several complains and asking them to change the room the staff did not bother to fix the issue. 2 nights we spent here were the worst nights of my entire trip. Also there are no bedside sockets for you charge your phone or use any medical devices (CPAP). I was told that no rooms have bed side sockets which I find very strange. Internet was very poor . Only plus was the location and hence 1 star. I will definitely not recommend this hotel and is definitely not a 4 star hotel as listed on the booking sites.Very poor experience staying here.

We found this hotel clean and descent with a convenient location close to 3 different metro stations and not far from downtown sights. Breakfast and WiFi were really good. Rooms however a bit small and not so spacious and not all of them have windows. The service from the reception and the bar and restaurant was limited, it wasn´t even possible to buy a bottle of water.

We spent 7 nights at the Turim Europa Hotel and really enjoyed the stay. The welcome was friendly, professional and the staff spoke English which really helped! They went out of their way to make the stay pleasant and enjoyable. The breakfasts were amazing!! Very pleased to have had breakfast included, since we (as South Africans) would have paid a fortune for the equivalent at a restaurant every day! A huge shout out to the amazing reception staff and the breakfast dining room/bar staff.
