I couldn't recommend it more. Excellent location, they seemed to have thought of everything you need in a hotel room for families: milk on the fridge, cereal and cookies, water, washing machine and so on. It's all about family and kids. It sounded almost like a joke after 10 days in regular hotels, but there were actual kids during breakfast - we were not the only weird couple traveling with kids, our kids were not the only ones asking for more milk or whatever. And there is the kids club - we felt very confident in leaving our kids for a couple of hours, they had lots of fun and we had the chance to explore the surroundings by ourselves. Please, if you're traveling with your kids, consider Martinhal.

This suite hotel is superbly located in the heart of Lisbon’s Chiado district. It’s central location is a big plus.
All the amenities for children made we had a very hassle free vacation with our 18 month old son. We stayed during a rather quiet time in January which meant that we often had the soft play area for families to ourselves as well as there always being a spot available in the restaurant for breakfast / dinner.
We felt really at ease even though this is arguably the most luxe hotel we ever stayed in but it was all worth it - most of all our son was happy here and happy to play in the areas provided. The fact that anything child catered we could wish for was there (cot, diaper disposal, child proof plates and cutlery etc) made that we as parents had a very relaxed city stay as well, even though we ended up not making use of the Kids Club as our son was a little anxious about that. What we did do was book a sitter for one evening so we could go out to dinner - she was really sweet and apped us every now and then that all was going well.
Staff was very friendly and the apartment was great, nothing we can fault.

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. We’re a family of four with a four-year-old and an eighteen month old and the one bedroom deluxe was perfect, with separate sleeping areas for each of us and a full kitchen with dishwasher and washer and dryer. The hotel’s location was great, easy walking distance to lots of Lisbon’s top sites and restaurants and, thanks to the hotel’s kids club and babysitting service, we were able to enjoy some of them without the kids. We had one minor issue where the key cards didn’t work for our room for the first couple of days, but the staff handled it as well as could be expected. Overall, we would absolutely recommend this hotel to any family looking for great space, services and location.

This hotel is incredible. It is right in the heart of a vibrant part of Lisbon and yet provides comfortable, quiet, superb accommodations. I am very picky and nervous about where we stay, often preferring a Ritz or Four Seasons because I generally know the standard that we will find upon arrival, but it gets very expensive when you need two rooms and some properties are not very kid-friendly. We stayed with our two kids (ages 2 and 4). The hotel has thought of everything parents could need to make their stay easier (from kids silverware to children's pottys). My children who are usually extremely reluctant to be left at a kid's club stayed happily and my husband and I had a few blissful hours to ourselves. I wish this hotel brand had more locations throughout Europe and North America.

This was a great place to stay for our family in Lisbon. They provide a kids club for day care as needed and can arrange baby sitters at an amazing price! The rooms are clean and good sized with a bathtub/shower and full kitchen and refrigerator. Even includes a washing machine for laundry! What a nice bonus that was for us on the last leg of our trip! The location is wonderful - near some great restaurants (By the Wine for the grown ups, Landeau Chocolate for coffee and cocoa) and close to the central shopping markets, Tram 28, the post office, taxi stands, shopping malls, the Time Out Market, major squares, loads of restaurants, and the riverside. If you need to get somewhere, the concierge is so helpful (and reachable by WhatsApp). They helped us navigate the public transportation to Sintra, buying tram tickets, everything!

I walked into the room and was pleasantly surprised how nice, spacious and well laid out the apartment was. The washer is a plus, especially because the days were getting hotter and hotter in Lisbon. The bed was comfortable, as was the couches. The location was central to everything - few mins down to the river, timeout market and a few different train stations.
The staff were super friendly and so nice. I had arrived early and when I arrived to the room, I found they had already taken my luggage in. I would absolutely recommend Martinhal and will definitely be staying there again when I'm back in Lisbon.

We visited Portugal with our two children (ages 9 and 12) and were very pleased with the Martinhal Chiado location and services. Our 2 bedroom apartment was very clean and fully equipped with a kitchen, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The hotel provided water, milk, juice, fruit, cookies, coffee/tea and wine upon arrival in our unit. Breakfast was delightful and plentiful with a variety of hot items, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, eggs to order, pastries, crepes, fresh juices, etc. The hotel stored our luggage while we traveled to the beach for a few days and also assisted with car service from the airport. The location is truly ideal: walking distance to two train stations, Time Out food market, the historic streets and squares of Chiado and surrounding districts, and many sites. Many excellent restaurants within a few blocks. We stayed on the second floor and did hear street noise until about 1 am on Fri/Sat, but this was not disruptive to us. This hotel is older than the Martinhal Oriente location, where we also stayed, but we preferred the charm, breakfast, and hospitality found in Chiado. Our children were too old for the Kids Club, but it appeared clean and well-staffed, and provides children’s meals. A perfect family hotel and we look forward to returning.

Can't think of a better place to stay, and that's in most of Europe. We stayed in a 1 bedroom superior deluxe apartment, and it was huge. It was contemporary and functional and plenty of space for us to spread out. A great little kitchen, and even a washer/dryer which was extremely helpful.
One of the best parts of our stay was the breakfast which was included. We had the option of eating down in the restaurant or they would deliver every morning. Not everything is listed so if you want an omelette, pancakes, pain au choclate, or others, just ask and you can write it in. Oh and the minifridge was stocked with free milk, juice and waters.
The staff was so kind and helpful. The apartment was quiet, and WiFi was good. The location was very central, only 5 minutes from the main shopping area, 5 minutest to Time Out Market, and 10 to the Praca Comercio.
I highly recommend the hotel. Will try out other Martinhal properties given how good this one was!

We would not normally brave a city break with a 3 and 5 year old but staying here was a game changer. We could explore for half the day with the kids and then happily send them off to kids club to enjoy some adult time and trek to the more steep places the kids would normally moan at being dragged to.
We stayed in a deluxe studio which was massive and perfectly adequate for us all to share for 5 nights. The well equipped kitchen was very handy and the room had everything you’d need when travelling with kids.
I thought we’d feel guilty dropping the kids off at kids club but they absolutely loved it and spent most of the time they weren’t there asking to go back. Seemed very professionally run.
Breakfast was high quality and being able to get it delivered to the room was a great bonus.
The location was perfect, close to all the transport links and restaurants. There’s a lot to do in Lisbon with the kids and we could have stayed longer!

Upon reception I was informed that there was no valet parking, no parking at all and that I would need to park myself at a nearby public parking lot. ummmmm seems pretty basic in a city hotel to offer complementary valet.
When we checked in we weren't given any room orientation or kids club orientation at all. To make matters worse there was no in room information at all and when we called the concierge most of the time no one answered. We had to call back 2-3 times.
The most disgusting thing was that our bathroom smelled of mildew and we could see black mildew in our tub. The paint was bubbling up and cracking in the bathroom and the toilet flush was sticky with ?? old marmalade?? or earwax?? I could see pen marks and hand prints from previous kids in on the walls of our apartment: the whole place could use a coat of paint. The carpets were all stained in the apartment and in the hallway. The hallway was over-scented with air-freshener to hide some "old building" smell.
The kids club staff are great but the concierge didnt t let us know what was included in your stay and what was an extra cost. For example no one mentioned that group baby sitting "pajama club" is included in the price and instead let me go ahead and book private babysitting to come to the room.
In theory luxury family apartments is a great concept but they have no business calling them selves luxury apartments. more like basic apartments at an inflated price.

In our apartment there was a coffee machine with Nespresso capsules. I'm not able to say the brand of the machine
I found it really quiet despite being on the 1st floor above the street. And I know there was a family with little ones next to me, but didnt hear a thing.
Can't remember what room I was in, but it was a suite with a kitchenette, washing machine, table to eat at etc.
Yes there were decorations and it was festive over Christmas. There were a few restaurants open on Christmas but it take a little bit more planning. The Martinhal gave our kids sweet treats. Enjoy! It’s a wonderful hotel for kids.
