Central Hotel Post Chur is located in the pedestrian zone of the Old Town of Chur, only a 7-minute walk from Chur Train Station. It is surrounded by many restaurants and shops. At the Hotel Post you can not send letters or packages, but with dedicated staff, enthusiastic customers and attractive offers, the heart of the hotel is the same as "simply cozy". The theme of "Swiss Post" goes through the hotel: The reception is like a post switch. A posthorn serves as a number plate for each room, the tenue of the employees is post-yellow. There is a picture of a Swiss stamp in each of the 39 comfort and superior rooms. 39 Comfort- and Superiorrooms have private bath/shower, WC, hairdryer, cabel-TV with radio, Safe, WiFi. Great for walkers

Hotel Post is at an amazing location, just around in the center of old town. Get off the train and you will be at the reception (2nd floor) taking your room keys after a walk of approx. 5 minutes. Hotel has equipment storage (winter sports) area located one floor below ground level, and the stairs are equipped with ski slide, so equipment storage is as easy as it could get. The hotel staff are extremely helpful, they provided assistance for each and every one of our requests. Breakfast is starting very early in the morning (around 4:30 am) which is a great plus to start your day early. The hotel rooms are clean, well maintained, well decorated.

Having stayed at 4 hotels during a recent trip to Switzerland this one was definitely the most comfortable sleep. We had a room on the 4th floor to the left of the lift and away from other rooms so the only noise we heard were other guests in the stairwell which was not intrusive. The only improvement to the room would be the addition of tea and coffee facilities but everything else we needed was there including international travel adaptors already installed on the desk. The staff was friendly and helpful, they were efficient and able to multi-task effortlessly. The breakfast room was also the reception area and there was a mixture of long bench tables with stools and more traditional tables and chairs. The food was the usual selection of cold meats, cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, breads, cereals etc all fresh and plentiful. Even when the room was busy, there was a pleasant buzz and enough space to move around. We would definitely stay here again should we visit the beautiful old town of Chur again.

Central Hotel Post Chur fit the bill in every way. 5 minute walk from the train station, centrally located for restuarants, shops, Chur-Brambruesch cable car access, etc. Very well designed hotel with many fire safety features. Immaculate rooms with very comfortable beds and clean bathroom with towel warmers. Breakfast is included which features a vast variety of items with excellent coffee/espresso. Staff is helpful on information about Chur. Wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

We recently stayed one night at this hotel during our Swiss by rail vacation trip paid through Vacation by rail. First room we checked in was 308, the room was used by a smoker in the past. My wife started to cough & complaint she can hardly breath because is very allergic to smoke, so we went to front desk & spoke to a young gentleman to request a different room. At first, he said there's no vacant room available to switch. But luckily for us, there was another young lady stood right next to him, said something to him in Swiss language I guessed. Right then, he said there's another room available for us to move into. It was room 304. This room turned out to be truly a smoke free room. Then, here's another issue we had while in this room. Room had no AC, so it was very stuffy, even after I opened the windows to let outside air in (which was still warm from the sun beating on this side of the wall). I then turned on the room oscillating fan to get the air circulating then room. With fan still on (wife was in bathroom), I opened the entrance door to see our friends in another room on same floor (we traveled in group of 10). As door opened, this lady must be a maid service looked into our room as she passed by. As she noticed the portable fan was running as I about to step out the door. She gave a not so friendly eyes contact & said "turn that fan off". I informed her it needed to be on to circulate the air. She then gave me another command "turn that fan off right now". I turned the fan off before leaving the room. The next morning, at checked out I informed the young gentleman at front desk about the incident & friendly reminded him that we are the paying guests staying at this hotel. But was treated like some second class citizen & he should have a talk with that maid service lady. Don't know if he ever did or not. I would not ever want to stay in this hotel if I go back to this city. It's a very sub standard hotel & bad customer service, especially from a cleaning lady!!!

SEPT. 13, 2021 The reception desk clerk is not wearing a mask and upon questioning she said she is not vaccinated. Further she does not intend to get vaccinated and thinks it is dangerous to get the vaccine. We just returned from getting our REQURIED Covid test to be able to enter any public space. We can't get food without proof of vaccination and a negative test. Yet the management of this crappy hotel is perfectly happy having an antivaxxer anti mask employee at the front desk? We are stuck until tomorrow morning so we will hide in our room and avoid the reception area and any other public area in this dump.

Dear Mr Phil Thank you very much for let me know these impressions. We strictly adhere to the statutory Covid regulations, governement proofed. Our reception is separated by a glass and protects guests and employees. If the reception is occupied by one person, the clerk does not have to wear a mask. If two people work at the reception, masks must be worn, also throughout the hotel. From your description, the clerk kept it that way, she was behind the glass. Currently you have to be tested, vaccinated or recovered for external restaurant visits, museums, concerts. In public areas and transportations a mask must be worn. I have to answer your question whether the management is happy with the whole situation with "no". Compliance with the rules has priority. See our protections on Covid-19 on Tripadvisor and coments from other guests. Personal opinions and views do not belong here. I am very sorry that you left the hotel with this bad impression. We enjoyed our stay, even during corona lockdown. Chur is super cute and I wish the stores and museums were open. The hotel is a quick walk from the train station on a pedestrian only street. Our room was spotless. I even moved a nightstand to separate the beds and it was super clean behind it! We didn’t feel that breakfast was a real value but the bakery in the train station was delicious. There is a little neighboring sound from walls and floors but not any more than our apartment and the Swiss generally as very respectful about the 10pm quiet time. The only disappointment was we had rooms with kitchenettes, but cooking wasn’t allowed (I knew and expected this) but the cupboards were bare. I had expected some dishes to use for take out/groceries and plastic ware is not allowed during corona (don’t ask, it’s silly) so I spent way too much time searching for paper plates and such. All in all, we’d stay again. A great value and super clean.

We really liked the rooms, which resembled repurposed one room & kitchenette apartments. They felt homely, the beds were great, the air was clean and lacked the dryness of many heavily air-conditioned hotels. There was a proper table for working e.g. with a computer, which suited me well: the lack of a good table surface is often a problem in hotel roomsa. Service was ever so friendly and attentive: I had asked for vegan food for breakfast, and my wish was fulfilled very well, so I was properly fed for the coming Bernina Express to Milano. Highly recommended!

Don’t be fooled by its name, the Central Hotel Post Chur’s hotel nature ends right there. Instead, guests are surprised to learn upon arrival of the many horrors in this so called “hotel”. The first surprise guests learn about when they arrive in the magical city of Chur is that Hotel Post doesn’t have private bathrooms in each expensive room, but instead there are shared floor bathrooms that aren’t clearly advertised online unless you’re looking carefully for it or have read other people’s unhappy reviews. We moved from a “budget room” to a “comfort room”, which wasn’t comfortable at all. In addition, the “high speed internet” that Hotel Post raves about doesn’t actually work, and after speaking to one of the hotel employees about it, they refused to help solve the issue and told us that it was “an issue with our phones”. The fun doesn’t stop there! The hotel has absolutely no A/C, which, as you can imagine, is problematic in the warm summer months, such as now in June. The only solution provided to guests is one fan per room which doesn’t provide guests with much relief. After mentioning this to the hotel manager (who asked how out sleep had been), we mentioned that the room was very hot and the fan didn’t provide any relief. Instead of apologizing and finding a solution, she gaslit us and told us that we should have asked for another fan and that we should keep the shutters closed (which we had). Another fun addition to our stay was the early sunlight that shone into the room due to the lack of blackout curtains. Since shutters don’t properly keep out all light, we were awakened as the sun rose, and we also woke up to the street sounds since we had to keep the windows open to let in more air. After our early wake up, we enjoyed a limited breakfast at the buffet, which had a total of 4 pieces of fruit in the “fruit basket” and no toaster to make toast with. Just some side notes to add to the fun: the toilet seat wasn’t screwed on properly in our room, the luggage rack was broken, the bedding was scratchy, and the pillows were lumpy. So, if you’re looking for an unpleasant, expensive, hostile, hostel experience, the Central Hotel Post in Chur is the place to go.

Good hotel in very central location. As its in a pedestrian zone in the old town,its quiet at night and windows can be kept open Parking is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Room was simple but with all necessary amenities and clean Ana at reception was great. She was very welcoming, gave us lots of information.

Excellent, large room spotlessly clean and with very central location. The breakfast was particularly good. Friendly, helpful staff. However, it was almost impossible to find with GPS which tried to send us into a pedestrian-only area (that was full of pedestrians and impossible to enter directly!). I had to telephone the hotel to get alternative directions. In the end, it was more by luck that we were able to weave our way through a maze of similar pedestrian areas but which allowed vehicular access. Far better to have parked first in a nearby carpark where we subsequently parked overnight (10 minutes walk away) and walk to the hotel!

You can leave your laundry for washing at the reception. Self-washing is not possible, neither in the hotel as well as in town. There is unfortunately no more self wash salon in Chur.

Yes it t leaves from the same station just perhaps a different platform- it is all well signposted. There are a few shops at the station ( around the bottom of the escalator) to get a drink or bakery items before getting on the train. The hotel is about a 15-20 min walk along flat pavements, easy to do. Enjoy
In Swiss style, it was 6 or 6:30am until 9:30-10am. They are so happy to help, I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you came down early. And, you'll get the first pick of the warm croissants!
There are more places to choose from in the Chur area.
