Hotel Nautilus garners mixed reactions from its guests. While the hotel's cleanliness and stylish nautical atmosphere receive accolades, with many appreciating the pristine condition of its rooms and grounds, some guests consider the value offered by the hotel to be subpar, particularly noting the extra costs for essentials and the mediocre food offerings. The rooms, though modern and featuring sea views, are sometimes criticized for their size. However, the hotel's prime beachfront location and amenities, including complimentary bicycles and sunbeds, along with the highly praised, friendly service, are frequently mentioned highlights.

Went for an overnight stay and it was lovely! The room had proper beach/seaside vibes with cute blue and white decor and the bed was nice and comfortable too. The en-suite bathroom provided good basic toiletries abnd the small balcony overlooked the street, with the beach and sea right across the road - great to wake up to, especially in the sunshine! The breakfast that was included in the package we bought was basic but good (in a beachside cafe across the road, which we had to look for) but for the price, it can't be complained! Also, it has to be noted that prices for their wine (which we ordered from their bar the night before) is super cheap, which is a bonus. Not much else to do in the local area (which is pretty quiet) but a good base in Cagliari, if you want to explore neighbouring areas. Recommended!

Staff went above and beyond to make sure the stay was compliant with all current restrictions

Hotel literally a step away from beach, spotlessly clean, facilities such as sun loungers a real perk (great quality too). Breakfast was plentiful and immaculate service...

Reception exceptionally helpful, great advice for dinner too, sebadas was exceptional

We'll be back and absolutely recommend

We had a wonderful time at Nautilus. The staff was friendly, approachable, dedicated and always happy to help. You can borrow bikes and umbrellas from the hotel. It is lovely to cycle down the Poetto and visit different beaches. You can take sun beds from the cafe opposite the hotel and enjoy a comfortable day on the beach. All you have to do is cross the road and you’ll find yourself on a beautiful beach with fine sand and the cleanest water I’ve ever seen. The only downside for us was our room, very small for 2 people and a little dated, with some old and damaged furniture, such as the headboard. Rather than that, all rooms have air-con and the area is quiet at night, so we slept well and enjoyed our little balcony. There’s a supermarket close by and you can buy cheap food and drinks. Breakfast was generous, with healthy options such as yoghurt and fruit. I’d recommend checking the room size when you book. There are some newer rooms that have just been opened so those must be really nice and some have hot tubs… we’ll be back next year!

The hotel is nicely decorated, staff is friendly, breakfast is good, AC is nice, balconies are big and it's only across the street from the beach. Bed is comfortable and wifi is really good.
They have only a couple of problems, meaning some staff are not trained to bring breakfast and it can take them forever to do so (besides not really understanding what you mean). They start loud cleaning earlier than they say and if you answer their email about how your stay is going they'll know your room and will ask you about your rate, which can be uncomfortable. They're not very good at thinking on their feet or holding up to their word.

Hotel Nautilus has everything you could want for a fantastic holiday on Poetto Beach.
The hotel is absolutely spotless, the rooms have lovely moden decor with good sized bathroom and excellent shower.
The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice of sweet and savoury food. Fresh coffee is brought to your table , it was really good.
Every member of staff from reception , breakfast room and house keeping was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The location is on the beach with a great variety of bars and restaurants to chose from. They also provide bikes free of charge and as there is a 6k cycle path, a nature reserve and mountain bike trails beside you, it was a great way to see the surroundings.
A 2 minute walk to the bus stop took you to Cagliari in 15 min . It is really a beautiful city with so much history.
We would highly recommend staying at Hotel Nautilus if you want a beach and city break .
A place to return to

The Hotel /Villa is modern and cosy inside, but not all room are in same quality. Never choose the 106 room,it was smaller than the others, with disable bathroom, laud aircondition(not individual control)
Breakfast was great, but same every morning, served by staff.. Staff forget the half of your order.. So it was sticky. Breakfast served in an other place on the beach 50 m from the hotel.
The staff in the hotel was very helpful.

Myself and 6 friends stayed at Hotel Nautilus last week and were very impressed! The hotel was very clean, the rooms were decorated really nicely with great views of the sea from our balconies and the staff were fabulous. Everyone from the receptionists to the cleaners to the waiters were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was yummy and the hotel's in a great location, right on the beach in Poetto and only a 15 min taxi right into central Cagliari for nights out. We will definitely be back!

I've been frequenting this hotel for years on business trips, mainly due to its fantastic location. The Poetto beach, with its clear sea waters and the striking Sella del Diavolo, offers a truly unique spectacle. The various 'Nautilus' buildings, despite their name, are essentially villas converted into a hotel through extensive renovations.

The rooms, however, leave something to be desired. They are not very spacious, with minimal desk and chair space, making them less suitable for tasks like remote work or alternating between the room and the terrace (when available). The bathroom, while equipped, lacks shelves or spaces to place personal items. The wardrobes have limited hangers, and the air conditioning is awkwardly positioned to blow directly onto the bed. The bed itself is comfortable, but light filtration and subpar soundproofing of the doors are issues.

Personally, I find the hotel perplexing. For extended stays or in particularly hot weather, I might consider other options, even in central Cagliari. The breakfast is just passable; the eggs, a crucial test for me, are not to my liking, although the croissants you can find at nearby bars like 'Otium' are good.

The overall impression is that, thanks to its prime location with little competition, the hotel doesn't feel the need to develop a particularly attentive customer service (a common practice in places like the Romagna Riviera, which may lack beautiful seas but excel in hospitality), allowing them to charge high prices and maintain a moderately empathetic approach towards customers. Given that it's often full, I understand the lack of incentive to strive for more, even in a city like Cagliari.

Hotel staff are very pleasant and helpful people. breakfast in the morning was plentiful and always replenished
Rooms are very small especially for the price of them ... way to much furniture for such a small room.
Overall the hotel is spotless clean and they also give complimentary bicycles which you do need if you want to go anywhere. Unfortunately there is not alot to do on the beach front at night but we did find a lovely place called La Marianella it's about 15 min cycle down the beach front good music food and drinks there.
Cycling (17min) over to Villanova area it is a must try visit San Domenico , it is a beautiful place to visit with plenty of shops and restaurants to try out.

On the face of it a nice little hotel on Poetto Beach. A lack of variety of restaurants all serving much the same sort (expensive) food. No swimming pool (we knew that) and the beach not all it’s cracked up to be. Holiday was ruined when €530 was taken from our room and the hotel did not want to know. We suspect that the robbery took place whilst our room was being cleaned (whilst we were sitting on the balcony !) Money was taken from my wallet & the safe. Poetto is dead after 7.30pm, stay in the city. If you want my advice don’t stay at this hotel, the charm of Poetto soon wears off. My dispute with hotel continues.
