The Hotel Concordia, in the heart of Venice, is the only Hotel overlooking Piazza San Marco. The Beggiato Family has been running the hotel for four generations as its own home, giving the place a warm atmosphere and distinguished elegance. The 51 rooms, all furnished with original antique furniture, Murano chandeliers, marble bathrooms or precious Venetian mosaic are all equipped with all the best modern technologies in order to satisfy the most demanding requirements. Most of the rooms offer a breathtaking view over the spires and the mosaics of the Basilica and over Piazza San Marco. As a Canaletto painting the San Marco Basilica is the background of the exclusive Cocktail Bar “La Piazzetta”, the ideal setting to enjoy a drink in the charming elegant bar lounge.

Hotel Concordia receives accolades for its charming atmosphere, blending traditional style with modern comforts, though a few guests find the rooms slightly dated. The prime location near St Mark's Square is a highlight for sightseers, and many reviewers appreciate the attentive service and the convenience of organized transfers and tours. While the rooms are celebrated for their comfort and views, some guests mention them being compact and in need of a refresh. Travelers commend the hotel's cleanliness and find its pricing to be reasonable, given the value of the amenities and the location.

Amazing location - super close to everything. We didn’t use the restaurant as it was extremely expensive compared to the number of restaurants outside (which were still expensive due to location). Very small room but lovely furnishings. Air con didn’t work and the room was extremely warm so we made the mistake of opening the window on the first night - we woke at 4am to the sound of buzzing and around 10 mosquitos in the room (and were eaten alive as a result). You can ask for a fan in the room and a plug in mosquito repellent which helped massively. Fully stocked mini bar (pay for what you use) but no tea/coffee facilities. Staff were amazing and the hotel was a great pit stop for our adventures in Venice.

Hotel Concordia is located next to St. Mark's square. We spent three days there and found the hotel to be very good value for money. Somewhat dated hotel and rooms - but good and efficient breakfast. We opted for a Junior Suite with a view of Piazza San Marco. The relatively little extra money we paid for that upgrade was VERY well spent, given how we could open our window and enjoy the million dollar view. The hotel has a small bar, managed professionally by Prince, whom we took great pleasure in talking to and enjoying his many drinks based on his own recipes (we can now say that we have had Purple Rain served personally by Prince).

My friend chose this hotel due to its location and it didn’t disappoint. Check-in was easy, staff were so polite and helpful. The room was perfect, comfy bed, clean, mini bar if you chose to use it (at a cost obviously). There’s a safe in the room too, no tea or coffee making facilities but you can get this in the bar downstairs (not sure if chargeable as didn’t partake). Shower over bath was very powerful, the hairdryer was old but it worked. Breakfast is 25 euros per day, but you don’t have to eat there, it’s got a good choice though. We checked out at 11am and because our flight wasn’t until 9pm they let us store our cases in their secure baggage room until we went back to get them before heading to the airport. We had a fantastic time and would definitely return to this Hotel if heading to Venice in the future.

It took 40 minutes by vaporetto and a 10 minute plus walk with heavy suitcases to reach this hotel.

It is one street back from St Mark's Basilica so for Venice, prime real estate.

Staff such as Marco and Eleonora were helpful.

The hotel only has a lift from the first floor,so bags must be carried which the doorman was expert at.

Our third floor room had a bathroom with bidet that had been renovated within the last decade. Towels were large and in good condition. The shower had OK hot water but was small in area and lacked a shelf. The rainhead and portable hose could concurrently operate.

Shampoo was provided on our first night but not again.

The bedroom had two single Queens pushed very close together so any gap was not noticeable. Why not use a single mattress?

Linen was extremely good quality and pillows comfortable. There was a top sheet: good.

The bedhead decor and two chairs were tired and out of the 1970s.

Bedroom curtains blocked light well. There was no noise from revellers.

The breakfast was average. Good yoghurt and sickly sweet hot chocolate but some croissants were not great.

This area's decor is out of date and dull. There were animal rugs on the floor, surely a tripping hazard.

Belgian Live was another helpful staffer, and the two doormen diligent.

There was a pleasant albeit dated first floor lounge.

With removal of the faux gold, new carpets and room chairs plus a complete renovation of the breakfast room, this hotel could become a 3.5 star but at present it is only a 3, not the 4 star it claims

The hotel is located just beside the duomo. Probabely one of the older places, comfortable, but relatively small rooms with no water marks or mosquitoes in the room, air conditioning. At night, it can become rather noisy, if windows are open.
Friendly and helpful personnel. Everthigng was running at slow speed due to Corona and the coming 2. lock down.

Maryland!
We had a spectacular stay at the Hotel Concordia. My family of 4 with 2 teenagers booked a junior suite with two adjoining rooms (Suite 126-7). The view of San Marco/the Basilica was just like the photos and we had a nice balcony. Wouldve loved a couple small chairs to put out there and people watch! The staff were extremely welcoming and very responsive via email beforehand and even during the trip. The complimentary trip to Murano via private taxi was a real treat/nice touch. Location is just amazing, and if you use yelp/tripadvisor/fork for reviews of restaurants/reservations you will do very well and avoid tourist traps for restaurants in a very popular area. Rialto bridge is a 5 minute walk, fish market is 7 minutes. We thought the room was charming and it was nice being on the 1st floor so we could take the stairs and not wait for the small elevator after a long day of walking. Breakfast was pretty standard, I agree with others that waitstaff in the breakfast room had a bit of a short fuse compared to all other staff. Was nice being able to specify the night before what time we wanted to eat so we could plan to sleep in, etc if we desired. I would recommend booking directly through their website and not a 3rd party, they had a good deal there and it was great directly communicating with them. We arranged train & airport transfers directly thru the hotel and it was very convenient.

Highly enjoyable long weekend. The concordia really is at the very heart of venice. Easy walking distance to just about everywhere and all vaparettos and gondola within easy walking distance. Lively and bustley during the day yet comfortingly quiet at night. The staff couldn't be more helpful and apart from having to stagger breakfast times to cope with numbers (which wouldn't suit everyone) we couldn't fault it. The rooms are spacious and although the bathrooms could do with some updating they are spotlessly clean and perfectly serviceable. The rooms are a little chintzy in a charming way and the common areas are deco smart. Great bar service in the evening and it genuinely overlooks St. Marc's square. Breakfast is buffet service but plenty of it and varied selection. The coffee is particularly good. Most of the restaurants in the immediate vicinity are tourist traps and the food wasnt great but on the staffs recommendation we found di forno which was excellent and the sandwich bar on the corner was better food and value than the tourist restaurants. A thoroughly enjoyable few days.

This hotel was a true gem. The desk staff is fantastic! They helped us book water taxis, helped us navigate Venice and the porters took our luggage for us to the water taxi so we didn't have to take it over the cobblestones. There are a couple of flights of stairs to get to the lobby (you can see them in the pic above) but they will come take your luggage for you so it was not an issue.

The rooms are great and very reasonably priced.

The bar is AWESOME! The have the most amazing bartender to make your aperol spritz and the setting is so cozy. That was my favorite part.

Excellent central location! Super close to the main dock on the grand canal. My only recommendation is not to get the room overlooking St. Mark's. It was really cool to look at but very noisy and the bells chime every hour.

Highly recommend this hotel!!

The hotel is in a perfect location; the breakfast room has a nice direct view of the basilica; and there are two waterbus stops a few minutes away. (Just be aware that you have to climb a stairs to get to reception.) Reception is efficient. Our room was a very good size with a very comfortable bed, nice decor and good amenities. Breakfast was very good by continental standards, even though the buffet could not be used due to covid. The hotel does not do lunch or dinner; but there are dozens of good places within a 5 minute walk. There is both a residents' lounge and a cosy bar, where Prince serves great cocktails. It's a bit expensive but well worth the experience. Definitely worth a second visit when it's warmer (which also means busier :-( ).

Beautiful hotel, we stayed in room c1 which is on the top floor and has a private terrace, would definitely recommend . The lift goes up to the second level and then a flight of stairs to the room . Bedroom and bathroom on one level and day room and terrace up the internal stairs. Shower overhead inside a corner jacuzzi bath , not the easiest thing to get in or out of !
Housekeeping was amazing, clean bed linen every day . Room cleaned morning and evening. Lovely platter of fresh fruit on arrival.no coffee making facilities in the room , I took a travel kettle.
Very good breakfast , good coffee.
Nice bar with a very friendly bartender.
We did a vaparetto transfer from the airport to San Marco Piazza, very easy ,an hour and 20 minutes, return to airport we had a private transfer arranged by reception, porter takes luggage to private jetty , about 30 minutes to airport, worth every penny!
Hotel arranges private tour to glass factory on Murano , fabulous, but leave your credit cards at the hotel, you will spend money!
Lovely to visit Burano , lace making.
The restaurants are very much the same prices all over .
Lovely in the evening to have a drink/coffee at the cafes on St Marks square,€15 for a coffee with little petite biscuits, but a great coffee and well worth it as the live music is excellent, you don’t get pestered to buy more, you can sit as long as you want.
Doges palace-the cafe has an amazing window which opens on to the canal so you can watch gondolas as you have a very good reasonable priced snack.
Cafe at museum is very good too .
Basilica has to be booked well in advance, we didn’t know that …
Venice is an amazing, unique city with beautiful architecture, and the Hotel Concordia is in a fantastic location, well worth the extra money, enjoy it !

We took the water bus(blue line) from the airport to St. Mark's Square. That took about an hour and a half. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from there. Ian provided good directions below. Cost was 15 Euro per person.
