This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Roma Termini so the location was very convenient. It is also close to the bus stop from Civitavecchia Port and the STT bus going to the airport.

The room was small but comfortable and clean with electric beds that could be adjusted to different sleep positions. Our room also had a double door and small balcony which opened into an internal courtyard.

There are loads of restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity some located within the train station. The breakfast buffet at the hotel had a good selection of both hot and cold foods.

All the main attractions such as the Colesseum and Roman Forum, Spanish steps and Trevi fountain are within a 20-30 minute walk from the hotel. The hop on hop off bus also stops at the train station.

We stayed here for one night due to its close proximity to Termini Station. The room was clean and the mattress was very comfortable with a massage feature available

The toilet was spacious with all amenities available

The breakfast spread was the best we had throughout our Italy trip and the staff were attentive and helpful.

I would stay here again.

This little hotel was an absolute charmer! Despite the great location, it was surprisingly quiet at night and the massage bed we fell into after a long day of sight seeing was just what was needed. The breakfast was plentiful and varied and service was super efficient and friendly. We will definitely return.

AVOID AT ANY COST!!!
Don't believe in positive reviews as they are not real. If you don't want to shower in cold water every morning and evening avoid this hotel at any cost!

My recent stay at Augusta Lucilla Palace Hotel (15-18.03.2024) was a complete nightmare due to hot water problems. Despite the fact we had reported the lack of hot water several times and the hotel's attempts to fix the issue, the problem persisted throughout our entire stay. We know that other guests also informed the hotel about the issue, moreover, I found previous reviews mentioning the lack of hot water dating back to July 2023! Clearly, the hotel is fully aware of the problem but doesn't care about the guests.

During the check-out, we informed the manager of the hotel again about the problem, expressing our dissatisfaction with the stay. He advised us to reach out to lastminute.com as they are our holiday provider. We raised the issue with the provider, they contacted the hotel to confirm the issue persisted and what? NO RESPONSE from the hotel for three weeks. They are completely ignoring their customers!

Avoid Augusta Lucilla Palace Hotel if you value your comfort and peace of mind during your stay. This hotel's negligence towards guest complaints and persistent hot water issues are unacceptable.

My rating of 5 stars is based on the service, room, price and location. Everything went smooth, from check-in, to check-out. I only stayed one night. It was very near Roma Termini, and only a 7 minute walk, with one large luggage in tow. We walked out the main doors of train station, where the local buses depart, crossed the street at the light, walked straight 2 blocks, crossed street at light going left, and a 2 minute walk... you're there. The staff member was very welcoming, upon arrival. We were given hotel & area information, and told about the wonderful beds. They're the kind that raise up and down. We had a nice, and comfortable sleep on them. The room was big, nicely decorated, and very clean. The bathroom was a great size, and updated. I was happy to have a bathtub/shower combo. This is what you definitely call a full-service hotel, and not rooms for rent. I can't tell you about the breakfast, as we set out sightseeing, early. All in all, this place had everything we needed, the price was great, and it was so close to the main train station & attractions. I absolutely would stay again.

Our first time in Rome, so we had no idea what a great location we were in til we were there for a day or two. It's unassuming at first, but is a charming building with helpful folks at the front desk. It's a 2-3 block walk from Rome Terminal on a quiet street with lots of restaurants and convenience stores all around. ALSO a totally doable walk to all the sights of the historic centre, from the Colosseum to Trevi Fountain and everything in between! We walked all the way from Trastevere one night, enjoying the streets and buildings at a quieter time and it was amazing. The room was small BUT the bed was amazing with a great mattress that was adjustable (raise/lower the head and feet with a vibrating massage!!) and perfect after long days of walking. The breakfast was fine, no complaints as it saved the time and trouble of looking for somewhere in the morning.

Where to begin with the utter disappointment that was my time at Augusta Lucilla Palace? This establishment epitomizes deceitful practices and false promises.

Let's start with the most egregious issue: the breakfast debacle. Despite booking a room inclusive of breakfast, we were blindsided on the final day when suddenly informed that breakfast wasn't included for our entire stay, as previously implied. This lack of forthrightness and blatant deceit is completely unacceptable. Had we been informed earlier, we could have made alternative arrangements. Instead, we felt swindled and misled by the hotel's duplicitous tactics.

However, that's just the tip of the iceberg. The problems extended far beyond the breakfast issue. The room itself was a disaster. Despite the sweltering temperatures outside, the air conditioning was nonfunctional, rendering our stay unbearable. The room was unclean and neglected, with evidence of previous guests found on the bathroom towels upon our arrival. The beds were uncomfortable, akin to sleeping on concrete.

As if the absence of basic amenities and cleanliness wasn't egregious enough, the staff's demeanor was appalling. They displayed no concern for our discomfort and were dismissive when we aired our grievances. It was abundantly clear that guest satisfaction was not a priority for them.

To compound matters, when faced with a luggage issue during our departure, the staff offered no assistance whatsoever. Their lack of empathy and professionalism was staggering.

In summary, Augusta Lucilla Palace falls far short of acceptable standards. From their underhanded tactics to their neglect of basic amenities and unprofessional staff, this establishment is one to steer clear of. Spare yourself the agony and opt for a hotel that values transparency and guest welfare.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a triple high tech room. We had a comfortable stay. The massage mode on the bed is a luxury after an entire day of walking. It is conveniently located at a walking distance of around 5 to 10 minutes from both the Termini and the Republicca metro stations. So it was easy to get around.
The breakfast spread was good enough. Also, a Carrefour Express is within walking distance on Via Viminale - helpful to stock up on water or snacks.

Old styled and cozy hotel with a great location. I traveled a lot on foot just because the hotel is very close to Termini station and you can easily access to city center or where you want. I arrived at the hotel in the morning and my room check in was on 14:00 but the nice staff and hospitable workers didn't let me wait for long and gave me my nice room at 10:00 o'clock! Thanks them for such a kind and good treatment!

Hi Peter. It is a very short walk from the hotel to Termini train station. There are frequent trains to Civitavecchia. We arrived at a central platform at Civitavecchia and in our case we needed to take ourselves and luggage down some steep steps along a tunnel and then up some steep steps to get to the exit of the station. At the exit opposite the station there is a bus stop and you can catch a bus, which will drop you at the port entrance. A shuttle bus to take you to the ship. You can also walk to the port entrance, I guess about 20-30 minutes, follow the signs, it is flat ground and easy walking depending on how much luggage you have. We are in our 70 and did this with ease a few months back. I guess the best way is to book a taxi or bus transport, plenty advertise this service on the internet. If you do use the train you get to meet many other cruisers doing the same thing and assisting each other.

I stayed in a double room, not king-sized but comfortable and enough. The breakfast was a buffet and consisted of scrambled and boiled egg, cheese, creme, jam, Nutella, butter, sausage, hams, awesome fresh bread and cakes, coffee machine, tea bags, two types of juice, milk, cereal, fruit salad and so on. All in all, it was a decent breakfast to start a busy day with.
