Stillwater Beach House is a real gem--and so are its owners. They took every care in remodeling their lovely beachside home, and took thoughtful care of us too. It was a home away from home--a home like I could wish ours could be! We had the upstairs suite to ourselves, wifi, tea and coffee on demand, gorgeous views, a comfortable bed, great reading material and even matching bathrobes.
Our over-the-top experience was watching the sunset with wine from the jacuzzi on their deck. Christine and Jack also gave us easy to follow directions for finding local walks and eateries. In the morning we were served a full breakfast, and the considerable pleasure of their company. We can't praise our experience highly enough. Thank you, Christine and Jack!

We just came back from a 4 night stay at this beach house. We were blown away at the guest house functionality. It is just beautifully thought out - the place has 14 windows and doors to open for cross ventilation - bringing in that ocean breeze and the sunshine was easy as pie. The doors (2 French and 1 regular) all have screens that close, so the doors can remain open. Kitchen is easy to work in and has everything you'll need, plus the great views! Clean as a whistle, nice bedding, Wrap around deck. The most private place we've ever stayed at. You don't even have to lock the door to the place when you go out - no kidding. We would return in a heartbeat, and would refer anyone here. Hosts are very gracious and leave you to yourself unless you need something. We felt at home here immediately.

The beach is rocky, but within 3 minutes drive to sandy beaches. The hot tub isn't readily accessible - it is located outside the owner's home, up a short hill.

We are thankful for the experience of staying at Stillwater.

Four of us stayed at Stillwater in August 2012 as a one night stop en route to the Rockies from Vancouver Island. What a shame we couldn't stay longer. The location and views are superb, the welcome from Christine and Jock was outstanding, the accommodation is gorgeous and the breakfast (done for us very early in the morning to enable us to catch an early ferry) was delightful. A highly recommended spot.

We have visited on a number of occasions and have stayed in both in the Bed and breakfast rooms in the main house and the cottage at the water’s edge. The cottage has a Scandinavian flavour with a beautiful deck to enjoy a glass of wine at sunset. The rooms are all bright and clean with freshly ironed sheets.
Both the cottage and B & B bathrooms have deep soaker tubs. The cottage bath has a lovely seashore view.
Our hosts Jock and Christine were very charming and social providing beautiful breakfasts, local tourist information and engaging conversations.
Two species of sea lions usually occupy a small rocky island off shore. On our last visit we were pleased to see a small pod of killer whales swim past.
The bed and breakfast rooms are likely a better choice for those with mobility challenges.i

We stayed with Christine and Jock for four nights earlier this week, and they could not have been more kind and hospitable. At breakfast, they stayed and chatted to us each morning. Breakfast was delicious and they even managed to deal with my very complicated diet! Our room had amazing views out to sea and the islands, and we also had sole use of a lounge and balcony area as well. They were extremely helpful in advising us where to visit and what to see, and made dinner reservations for us as well. Stillwater B&B is in an extremely peaceful location and the setting is amazing. We hope to return.

The cottage is exactly how it looks on the website. We spent one week at this cottage and loved every minute of it. It's away from the road, so all you can hear is the ocean. When sitting on the deck, or in the house, the ocean is only a few feet away. At high tide, it's almost directly below you. This was our favourite part of the cottage. Other favourite things are it is immaculately clean, and very private. The hosts were there to greet us when we arrived, and Jock and Christine are wonderfully hospitable hosts. They take great care in every detail - very delightful to deal with. After we had checked out on our last day, and driven 15-20 minutes to the ferry, up comes Christine to our car delivering a package we had left at the cottage. Now, that's service!! If you want to be up close and personal with the ocean, in a well appointed, clean cottage, look no further.

Christine and Jock are the most wonderful people. Very easy going and really enjoyed sharing a couple of glasses of wine and appetizers with them. The property is gorgeous. So very jealous. Beach House was beautiful and had everything we needed plus more. Will be back!

My wife had some business in Powell RIver, and we booked into the guest cottage at Stillwater. I've never written a trip advisor review before, but I felt I had to share the experience this time. This place is immaculate - from top to bottom - and the owners Jock and Christine are nothing but gracious. While the cottage is setup with a master bedroom and an adjacent bedroom for kids or extra guests, it's easily a great couples getaway. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, and capped off a perfect overnight stay. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Stillwater Beach House B&B is a stunning home in a beautiful location. At night, while nestled in our comfie bed, the sound of the sea lions lulled us to sleep. The room we had was clean, spacious and comfortable, and the ensuite bathroom had all of the amenities that one would expect from a high end hotel. In the morning Jock cooked us a delicious breakfast before we departed for the rest of our journey. The whole experience could not have been more enjoyable!

We stayed here with our dog and my boyfriends father late in the summer. Environmentally conscious, gorgeous views, great little kitchen. A perfect spot to nestle down with a book or stare out at the ocean. The bathtub looks out at a grove of arbutus and was so enjoyable! We would go back in a heartbeat and have recommended this spot to friends. It would be a great spot for a couple days of honeymooning.
