We weren’t fully prepared for this stay…if you are going to cook your meals, they provide basic utensils and no condiments whatsoever. We had to buy salt, pepper and oil at the local CO-OP. We expected our stay to be clean, it was only surface cleaned. Under the bed, couch and coffee table was thick with dust, found pistachio shells, tissue and cobwebs. My husband refused to cook on the BBQ as it was dirty. The jets in the tub was brown so I did not attempt any baths, just showers. We brought our own coffee press because most places don’t think to clean the machines. It was a nice touch that they provided a towel and dog bowl for our dog. If you want quiet, bring earplugs because the hotubs are a bit noisy. We were surprised that we had to sweep the floors, empty garbage and dishes before we left (which we did) don’t get me wrong it is a lovely place to stay and we were not prepared. Communication via text is pointless, they never answered my text. Best to talk to staff in person. Would i recommend? yes, come prepared.
and CHECK OUT TIME IS 10am earlier than standard time

My husband and I just spent five nights in cabin 5 (style F) at Reef Point Cottages and were very pleased with the accommodations. We've visited Ucluelet and Tofino several times and so are well-acquainted with the area. We have our favourite places to visit (Wild Pacific Trail, Florencia Bay, Tofino Brewery, Ucluelet Brewery, Tough City Sushi) and on this trip discovered some new ones (Shorepine Bog Trail, Rainforest Trail [A and B], Spring Cove Mudflats Interpretive Trail).
Our stay at Reef Point was seamless with no issues. We received a text our cabin was ready ahead of time so were able to check in a couple hours early.
Our cabin had a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable living space on the main floor. Upstairs was a spacious loft bedroom with a comfy bed. Our unit had a hot tub, which we used a couple times. Clean and easy to operate. Garbage and recycling drop off on site was handy.
The COVID precautions we'd read about have been relaxed somewhat, for example we didn't have to separate the linens prior to check out, etc.
Reef Point Cottages is well-located and a good value stay. We recommend.

The COVID protocol was the most rigid I have seen, which is great, they take it very seriously. We had studio A, very small but spotless clean, comfy bed and pillows, small kitchen. Could not get the TV to work, first time we ever decided to watch TV on vacation. Ucluelet is small, so not far to anything. No view but that is reflected in the price. It is a good place for full kitchen and clean place to stay for a good price.

We got cottage #9. First off, we'd read some of the so-so reviews after we'd booked it and as such were vigilant. There was no need. The place was spotlessly clean, all the cutlery and items to use were clean and provided in sealed bags. Covid is front and center in mind here for sure and we appreciated that enormously. Bed was great, a TV with too many channels, super fast WiFi (+100 MBPS). Very, very quiet, which we loved. There are a few walking paths that start right at the cottage so for the 4 days we were there, we walked all over, went to Tofino, Long Beach and basically spent most of the time outside. We cooked at home all the time, used the BBQ. We certainly will go back here next time as it was really well priced. Our cottage was basically one big room with a bed, couch, table, sofa and a few chairs; we didn't need much. It has a loft as well but we were not sure what the purpose was. Great spot for 2 people. I ended up forgetting a very expensive jacket that we retrieved a few days later and it was nicely folded and wrapped waiting for me. Very friendly people for sure.

We stayed in Studio A for two nights at off-season rates of $109 per night. Studio A sleeps two but was perfect for us and our dog. The charge for our dog was $20 per night. The staff go to great lengths to minimize the potential for COVID spread which is good because it does take a little bit more work for staff and clients but it benefits everyone. Our cozy studio was very clean and we were delighted with our short stay there. Hiking is close by as well as shops and restaurants.

I've stayed at reef cottages a few years back and rated this place 5 stars. I was so excited to stay there again but it ended up in disappointment. I booked the one bedroom cottage and I expected the same type of cottage that I stayed in last time. It ended up being a lot smaller and very outdated. The spiral staircase does not make any sense. The one bedroom and not actually a bedroom as it's upstairs in the open, no door/privacy which is an issue when travelling with others. I did enjoy the spa bath and hot tub. We ended up switching over to the two bedroom cottage, they gave us a small discount for having to do so. The two bedroom cottage was a lot nicer, two actual rooms and a nice living room with a fire place, it was a very nice place. The spa bath was not working and the toilet was not working properly. The hot tub was also not working properly, you would have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to keep working and it could of been warmer. There is no sea view as advertised! Therefore they should not be charging all this extra money for sea view. In conclusion, the prices have considerably gone up and the quality has gone down since my last visit. I'm not sure I will want to stay there again.

Seeing that we're in a pandemic you would think that they would be more accommodating to cancelations. I booked my stay there months ago but the BC government just issued a non essential travel order. The community of Ucluelette issued a statement that they do not want anyone from outside of the community to travel there. I emailed Reef Point to inquire about a refund at they state it's business as usual for them and they are open and will only issue a credit. I get that even though I booked through Expedia it was probably in their fine print somewhere but wow what a jerk move.

Terrible customer service... We happened to stay 2 nights during a power outage. I get it, this was out of everyone's control. With that being said, you would think the staff could offer assistance or any updates. Nope. I asked if we would be able to cancel our second night without penalty so that we could stay somewhere else that had a generator. I was told they have never offered any sort of discount/free cancellation and I would have to contact their manager myself. Even though we had no heat/power/semi warm water and wasted food we purchased to cook there, we were unable to receive any sort of discount/cancellation or even a flashlight. I also mentioned we had a baby and toddler with us and I had no where to keep my daughters milk cold.... When the power did finally get turned back on the morning we were checking out. We asked for an hour late check out to cook the food we were unable to make so we didn't have to throw it all out as we were flying home to Edmonton the next day. The older gentleman essentially laughed at my husband and said and immediate No.

Overall the cabins were very nice and clean and had the power been on and we did not need any assistance, It would have been great. The fact that the office closes at 5pm (right when you check in) and there is no way to contact anyone is odd. And the staff that we did interact with were very unhelpful and frankly just rude :/

We rented a one bedroom cabin May 17 for 2 nights. We travelled with our 2 small dogs (both under 12 lbs) and were fully prepared to pay a pet room charge. What we weren’t prepared for was staying in a grubby, rundown cabin. Just because we have pets doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate “clean”. The sofa smelled like a wet dog and had clumps of dog hair on it, the chairs were dirty, the floor tiles were cracked and most of the window blinds were broken. Thank goodness they provide clean bedding and the bathroom had been cleaned. We normally read bad reviews and think that people need to have more tolerance but in this case we couldn’t stay silent. The operator only provides contactless check in and out - I’m guessing so that they don’t have to deal with guest complaints. Be prepared for bare minimum. You even have to remove all your own trash at the end of your stay - which we have never had to do at any other property. Not only did we pay full price for the rental like everyone else but an extra $20 per night, per dog for the privilege of staying there. They obviously take the cash but don’t use it to put towards maintenance or cleaning. Our advice is stay anywhere else.

Ok.. i am not going be that person saying it was the worst in my lifetime qnd my whole holiday was spoilt as i never pay attention tothose reviews... let me tell you my story. I booked on expedia and the room types never mention individual amenities like on this particular place the reef point cottages. I booked more than a month ahead as ai thought I got a covid special a cottage studio with a hot tub and kitchen and a nice cottage. Well let you tell you! The “cottage” I got was a room maybe 45sqm with a minite kitchen, bbq that doesnt work as the pilot is broken, no extacyor fan for cooking (which I reported and was ignored) expedia ruled in my favour and gave me a handsome credit as the proerty wrongly listed the unit (which should be a low budget motel room). A person reapo ding to texts is a sarcastic sadist (in my opinion) and i feel that you should know that this place is not what it should be and what it promises online. The pros are a nice area, a jetted bath and a broken bbq. Its basic amd if you pay $30 per night its to much!!
