We stayed in June 2020 and were delighted to find that the washrooms were open, which was really appreciated as later found that other campsites were basically using COVID as an excuse to keep them and other amenities closed but charge the same nightly price. The staff were very helpful and cheerful. We had a beautiful spot overlooking the lake. There is also a nice bar where you can get a drink overlooking the lake and we saw some turtles. There was also a nice walk around the lake but we did not have time to go all the way round

Stayed two nights while hiking the numerous waterfalls in Wells Gray Park. King Room had everything we needed including a full size refrigerator & microwave. Owners were very accommodating and the location was centrally located in Clearwater. Bonus-pets welcome so the two cats were pleased as well!

The campsite feels more like a parking lot as it provides no privacy at all. Also, we were looking forward to dining in the restaurant however closed on both nights we were there. (Monday & Tuesday) The location however is fantastic on warm days, as the campground is right at the lake side. There are stairs to climb into the water and for 20 Dollars you can rent a canoe or small boat. There is also a playground close by hence great for a stay with children. I have not looked a toilet facilities but they do have laundry services for 3 Dollars

We are not hotel snobs. Stayed in some pretty low budget places over the years. But this place is a dump. Literally. We booked two nights. Arrived early so checked out their "beach". Garbage ripped open and strewn all over and had clearly been their for some times. Same goes for the parking lot. When we got in our room my wife spent 30 minutes cleaning with a white towel that came out brown when she was done. And that was just a wipe, not a deep clean. I could go on and on but I'll save the ownership any further embarrassment. To his credit he refunded the one night and we did not stay the second. Caution looking at the pictures on the site. Looks like a million bucks but its a pig with lipstick on.

Response from Chris Kreke, Owner at Dutch Lake Resort & RV Park
Responded Oct 7, 2020
Hi Martin - I am sorry you did not have a good experience while in Clearwater. I believe you have left your review on the wrong business listing. This review should be for the motel in town, not the Dutch Lake Resort. We have self contained cabins on the lake. We take great pride in our place and make sure everything is super clean and well maintained. If possible, I would appreciate if you could remove this review from our page. Thank you

Team booked hotel for kids hockey tourney. Couple at check in were super nice and friendly. Rooms are dated but super clean. Appreciate before checking in that the heat was turned on in the room cause it sure was cold out. No complaints! Thank you.

Terrible management, when I spoke to them they told us a different rate upon reservation the rate changed. When I canceled my reservation they charged me 75$ cancellations fee !!! $420 per night for a very very basic cabin!!! DO NOT GO THERE !

The Lake and beach are amazing and the hotel looks nice but stay away from the food truck unless you want to pay $20 for mediocre fries and be told you have enough ketchup. I just got a 14oz "real fruit smoothie" that is definitely just juice from concentrate with some yogurt for $14. Incredible RIP OFF!

For the second time on our trip we learnt not to use the post code on our sat nav as it took us to a forestry road 28 minutes from our intended destination. Using the road name took us straight there!
Our RV site had a lovely view of the lake but there is no privacy between the sites (which are fully serviced). The staff in the reception are helpful but there is a very limited selection of items for sale.
Apparently the restaurant on site is quite good but due to staff shortages it wasn't open at the start of the week.
Handy location to vispt the Dawson, Spahat amd Helmcken Falls

We stayed here for one night on our way through and found the accomodation to be just adequate. Things were clean, the room was dated. It advertised a "lake view" which we could not see at all. The staff did their job. This is a motel that services a lot of construction workers and was full at night. Parking was a bit of a challenge.

What a beautiful RV park, our site overlooked Dutch Lake my wife and i rented a canoe and spent some time on this clear Awesome lake. The Restraunt was great and only 45 min to Wells Gray Park and the many waterfalls. We booked in for next year already can’t wait to get back with our kayak, family and friends.

Hello, no tenting sites, Just the cabins . I think about 9 of different sizes along the lake shore. Then there are sites for RVs along behind those. No tenting. We usually tent so the cabin (very tiny A frame) was a treat. And a very lovely warm lake. There is tenting in the provincial park. Go to discovercamping and type in Wells Gray for the park. It would be inside the park and quite beautiful.
There are more places to choose from in the Clearwater area.
