A great place to stay right in Pender Harbour. Beside the ocean, away from the highway, walking distance to 3 places to eat and a store.

Very helpful owners with lots of ideas for sightseeing

Several fresh water lakes are here too for swimming and relaxing in the sun. Bring your hiking shoes to access so many fabulous trails or varying difficulty.

The Inn was closed for the season, but they neglected to tell us when we made our reservations. The woman I spoke with assured me the place was newly renovated and delightful but when we got there, it was closed. We were expecting a restaurant, an art gallery and a B&B but the restaurant was closed, the art gallery was closed, and there was no breakfast. The closest breakfast was twenty miles away. And there was no heat. The building was deserted, we didn't see a living soul, our room wasn't cleaned, our bed wasn't made nor clean dry towels provided. If we had been warned we could have packed a picnic basket. Absolutely disappointing. Unconscionable treatment.

A beautiful historic old mission hospital renovated into a lovely hotel, with views of the bay and the marina. Just a few steps from the docks, a general store, pub, and fish & chips restaurant, but it feels like you're out there surrounded by nature, just the calm water, the trees and the eagles and you. Kusum & Tom are amazing hosts and made our stay wonderful. They have room for events, and an art gallery too. The area is lovely with plenty of hikes and lake walks, and kayaking on the bay.

Small room with one queen bed and a shabby single bed. Very small bathroom, no restaurant, no coffee machine, no TV which I don't care but just saying. Our stay was very much disrupted by some very drunk men down the hall, the walls must not have a lot of insulation. That being said the owner is a very nice person. Also no housekeeping, I've never stayed in a hotel like this before.

This was a horrible stay. We could hear everything our neighbours were saying through the walls. The bed was terrible. The couch was terrible. And for some reason smoke alarms went off every morning at 9am, they were incredibly loud. The only saving grace is that it was clean and had a great view. Even then, I cannot recommend this place.

Looks like it hasn't changed. The building I am 100% sure, is haunted. Seriously strange, spooked old hospital rooms. Heard noise and strange lights all night, brought my lab into the room. She was up all night as well, only people in the building. Loved every minute of the Spookfest!

I really had no idea what to expect at the Sundowner. At the last minute we (2 families) booked 2 rooms here for a summer weekend in August. There weren't a lot of reviews to go on, so we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. I'm glad we did, as this place is a little gem. The owner was an absolute delight and spent a good 10 minutes chatting to us about the area when we checked in, giving us personal recommendations for Pender Harbour that I had not heard before (and were well worth doing!)

The inn is truly unique - an old hospital, it retains a lot of its original features (thick doors, wide wood floors, high ceilings) but the bedrooms are modern and cosy and extremely clean and comfortable. I loved the bed linens and my kids slept well on the pull-out. Beautiful view of the harbour from the giant picture windows. With only 11 rooms, the inn feels quite intimate, and I enjoyed exploring around the building.

The only downside was the room was very warm at night - but we were here during a heatwave, and 30 degree temperatures outside are not the norm for the Sunshine Coast. The owner brought us a large fan the second night, which made a big difference. Thanks for the hospitality, Kusum! I'm sure we'll be back.

The Sundowner was the first hospital on the Sunshine Coast loving restored by it's current owners as a country inn. They have done an amazing job. The rooms are beautiful, the beds perfectly comfortable, and the whole place gracious and clean. The Inn overlooks Garden Bay, and the rooms have a lovely view of the marina and harbour. If I could, I would move in here in a minute and stay forever.

We were happy to find this gem of an inn outside of Sechelt and close to Earl's Cove. Our beautiful private room was full of light and space and lovely art. The deck off the living room is gorgeous with a view of the harbour. But our hosts were the real treat - what lovely people with an appreciation for the beauty of the place, attention to detail of the historic inn, and a love of art (which was everywhere)! Highly recommended!
