Situated close to the waterfront, unfortunately we were not facing it. Needed an extra $120 to upgrade?! Hotel was empty. We had a lower level room, it had a stuffy, mucky smell. Was afraid to open the windows as it was lower level in the evening with no bars, as it was hot. The air con is super loud to sleep to.
We stayed there during covid, and I understand they cant serve proper breakfast but common, a juice box and yogurt and fruit cups dont cut it for paying so much. You can get a bit more creative.
Thankfully there is a supermarket across the street.

My husband, mother and myself stayed in the Waterfront Cannery Suite, which was perfect! It looks exactly as it does in the photos on their website (other than flooring upgrade as the carpet has been removed). We moved furniture around a little to accommodate three people, but the murphy bed was comfortable, and the little deck facing the water was marvelous! The three of us (plus our dog) managed well in this room for two nights. It was walkable to absolutely everything and the staff was friendly and helpful. The brown bag breakfast they provided each night (for the next morning) was excellent - yogurt, banana, juice box, huge muffins and an egg/sausage wrap (though we didn't try this as we are vegetarian).

We appreciated the black out blinds on the windows as the sunrise is quite bright (we didn't notice these on the first night unfortunately, and woke up very early).

We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Sidney.

When we walked into our room, my wife said "this place smells clean" Five minutes later she said "This place IS clean" we felt extremely comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient. The location was great. Looking forward to a longer stay next time.

I stayed two nights here, as I had stayed once before with a better experience getting a takeout breakfast on check in. However, this time there was no breakfast and the front desk clerk was not very friendly. I also approached a housekeeper about changing my fitted sheet, and emptying my garbages. Neither of which was done, and my sheets were left outside the door. What was the worst though came from spurious claims that I damaged a shower curtain, a duvet cover, and two pillows for a total of 113 dollars. No notice of this, just something I saw on my bank statement. This place is not operating with much class and goodwill.

Our flight was cancelled and we found an ocean facing room at the Waterfront Inn. Staff were very friendly and helpful, got us organized , dealt with the airline on our behalf and ordered return taxis for all the stranded passengers. Clean, centrally located, on the waterfront, very close to all amenities including groceries, restaurants, shops. An unexpected but excellent find to end our trip. If you’re looking for a budget friendly Inn that’s under 10 min from the airport, this place is for you!

We liked the location , close to the water, restaurants and sights, but the standards of the hotel left much to be desired.
Our room size was average but the standard of upkeep was poor. Carpets were stained, bedding was old and faded in colour , room furniture was dated and damaged in many instances.

Staff were average to disinterested.

The room rate was high for the quality offered.

The room was apparently "slated for electrical work" that could not be done because "we were in it". Booked March 13th yet we were still assigned that room. Advised we could not be relocated!!!! The front desk was uncooperative. We stayed two nights but only got "breakfast" for one. When booked I did not realize that there is no elevator in th building which was a struggle for us (seniors 82 and 75) to get our bags up the stairs and no assistance offered. I did not have time to discuss with the manager on check as we were taking a ferry back to the mainland. Have written but received no response at all. It's a disgrace even for three stars!!! I was concerned about a family with young children being assigned to this room with the electrical wires all exposed.

The location is unbeatable. Easy walk to water front, grocery store, restaurants and shops on beacon Ave. Staffs are friendly and room is clean. It is a little bit dated but well maintained. The bad is comfortable. We loved the idea of breakfast basket; it may be the result of covid, but we think it is less work for hotel staffs and more flexible for travelers. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Will be back next time we are in Sidney.

We weren't here long enough to enjoy all this hotel has to offer or the location. We arrived late on the ferry and left the following day to continue our trip.

Pros:
Very clean
Quiet
Comfortable bed
On the ocean
Close to airport and ferry
Breakfast in room (they are not doing hot breakfast yet so this is a continental breakfast to take to your room)
Friendly front desk

No cons
Good value for the room rate.

We will stay longer next time. Sidney looks like a nice little town to visit.

The room was on the ground floor and was quite dark. We did have a view of the sea, albeit being on the ground floor it wasn’t easy to see it. Furnishings were old and could do with an update. Handed a basket of breakfast goodies on arrival which was nice and that was a good start. Stains on the carpet and I woke up in the night and could distinctly smell chlorine (ok, Covid is with us at the moment and I fully understand we have to ensure things are clean but this I’m sure was coming from the carpet and when I walked on the carpet it felt damp. I mostly keep something on my feet anyway when I’m in a hotel but this was the middle of the night and I didn’t put anything on them.

The other thing I found annoying was staff shouting to each other when they were in the corridors... why not have a quiet conversation.

Think the thing that really grossed me out was finding a dirty pillow case the next morning, very obvious shouldn’t have missed it, thankfully I hadn’t slept on it. Sorry but that should be a priority... change all the sheets and pillowcases between stays!! Not impressed.

Location was great, was really looking forward to staying her and was so disappointed, not worth anywhere near what we paid for the night.

No, they do not offer a shuttle. I booked an early morning taxi with Sidney taxi. They were there promptly. Cost around $20. To my knowledge, the only hotel with a shuttle in Sidney is the Travelodge.

Is there a shuttle for a 5:40am flight?
Answer from Italyagain

I never saw evidence of a shuttle. However, the hotel is not far from the airport, so a taxi will not be expensive. For a flight that early, I would suggest the convenience of a cab is worth the expense.
