Not having stayed in a dorm room since University, I approached this with a little trepidation, but that was unnecessary. The rooms are large and well appointed, and there's good parking. Wi-Fi is free, but doesn't quite reach everywhere.

The only issue is it's a little away from downtown, you do need to drive to reach any non-fast food restaurants.

Stayed here as a low-cost way of stopping off in Ontario. Property is hard to find (unmarked) and is actually a college dorm during school year. Rooms are clean and basic, with ok private baths and wired internet service (you must bring your own ethernet cable). No complaint except that the first floor rooms are extremely noisy if anyone is above; the building must be very poorly constructed, as ceiling creaks and every footstep above clunks noisily. Parking is in a lot uphill from the building. The helpful, welcoming staff (college students) makes the experience acceptable.

I often seek out college residences for low-cost options for summer travel. This residence is in a lovely park-like setting with lots of picnic tables convenient to it. The rooms were a good size, and very clean. Parking is free. There were nice perks like soap and shampoo provided (that doesn't always happen) and a full size fridge and microwave in the room. Caveats: Students taking summer courses use the first-floor rooms so the nightly accommodation is on the second floor and there are no elevators. There is NO wi-fi - you can connect to the College network via ethernet and you can borrow a cable from the front desk. There is NO signage on the college grounds or even on the building to say that it is a residence, so if you are going, plan to get there in the daylight so you have a fighting chance of finding the place.

My mother and I stayed here for one night while attending the Gananoque RibFest and Lions Club Craft Shows. The rooms were totally Physically Challenged accessible, clean, spacious and very reasonably priced. The rooms are private, very comfortable and we had an amazing nights sleep with the country air and setting. A 5 stars place to stay.

We have stayed at university/college accommodation before and found this type of accommodation very good and cheap. St.Lawrence is no exception.
The room was very large with 2 double beds with a partition between the beds. There was also a very large fridge and microwave oven. The room also included a wardrobe with hangers, shelving for clothes and a large desk with chair. The room was very clean and had a very good air conditioner. Check in was very simple and car parking is provided free of charge. The only down side is the college is a bit isolated, you need a car if staying at the college.

We stayed in this residence for 2 night while visiting the thousand islands. The rooms are basic and have everything you need. It is located approximately 10-15 minutes away from a mall (by feet), where you have a lot of food options for breakfast and dinner. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. If you are outside anyway exploring the thousand islands, this place is really perfect.

Room was cleaned and neat, it has a fridge and a microwave.

Bed frame was really noisy - it sounded a bit loose

Location is good, a bit far from downtown, but with food around the area i.e. McDonalds, Tim Hortons, Freshii, etc.

We spent one night on our way from Niagara to Quebec city. The accommodation was clean, large and just great for two people for an overnighter near 401. We were able to visit the railway tunnel and a
enjoy a 1,000 Island cruise.

First the pros: the staff is very friendly and accommodating and the residence is quiet. The beds are comfortable and the (unsecured) WiFi is good. You get a couple of double beds, two desks, a frig and microwave.
Here are some of the cons: there is no coffee-maker. There is a big TV on the wall, but it's not hooked up to anything. You could bring a flash drive to hook up your own video content. There is very little storage space. Coat racks but no hangers. The shower is horrid: very small shower stall, dribbling water flow, shower head is low which is OK if you're short. No electrical outlets at the desks. Shared kitchen / common area at the far end of the hallway seems unclean. Self-serve garbage carry-out to the dumpster across the parking lot. The building seems to be built on the cheap.
In sum, this is budget-priced accommodation, but know what you're in for.

I've never heard a bed squeak as loudly as these beds do. I'm also surprised by how loud the room above us is. I would not want to be studying for exams here.

However, everything in the room works, and in a budget hotel that is not always the case. If you have stayed in residence rooms before, these are different. Other rooms have a better kitchen, and are separated into two locked rooms. In this room, two people share everything, with no real privacy. The TV is a nice addition, because other residences have no entertainment.
