The rooms are modest, but comfortable and clean. Beds and pillows are really comfortable to sleep. The pool was not open due to COVID, which was a downer, but it was expected and the breakfast was not too plentiful due to the same thing; mainly a granola bar, an apple/orange, a muffin and something to drink. The staff was very courteous, we had to do a noise complaint around 3am the first night because of some people being really loud all night and the staff responded to it right away which was very much appreciated!!

Thank you very much for all of the great feedback! We are sorry that the pool area and our normal hot breakfast have changed because of Covid - sorry for the inconvenience - we're just doing our part to do everything we can to keep everyone safe. We especially like to hear about our great customer service though! We hope to see you again soon.

At $174 dollars for one night I felt then we’re taking advantage of us for booking the day before. I could of stayed at the Hilton Niagara for that price. The hotel was empty. No need for those prices. Swimming pool and gym were closed and breakfast was pick up only on a doggy bag. I was shocked at the price. Won’t stay there again as I felt they were taking advantage of us.

Stayed in Simcoe as I was heading to Turkey Point area for the evening. Hotel is outdated and old but it was clean and safe to stay in. Not many interactions with staff but they were nice at the reception desk. Free parking is easy and the Shire restaurant attached is convenient for an "OK" bite to eat.

We travelled to Simcoe to attend our Father’s Memorial Service and stayed at the Travelodge. The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant. Our family was able to have rooms close together and we were given special considerations that made the stay more comfortable. We enjoyed the hot breakfast sandwiches and they also had grab and go bags with fruit, muffin and granola bar as well as juice. It was convenient to have a fridge and microwave in the room. There was plenty of parking available.

The hotel arbitrarily cancelled our Expedia reservation for a four day stay in June/July, saying that their "policy had changed" and they were now only renting to essential or front-line workers. They accepted our reservation weeks ago, with no notice of this new policy. This change ruined our plans. The front desk clerk assured me that their policy is not due to any government regulations regarding Covid. She also tried to blame Expedia for the cancellation, when Expedia had nothing to do with it. I can only assume that it this is their way of squeezing more revenue from rooms during a very busy season. If you can't trust them to fulfill a reservation, imagine what the service would be like if you actually stay here?

Thank you very much for your review. I am very sorry for any confusion about your reservation with us. It is true, we have only been providing accommodations to essential workers (travelling for business purposes) through most of the pandemic. We have noted this on both Expedia's and booking.com websites but unfortunately this notification is buried deep in the small print. We have had to inform a number of guests travelling for leisure that we would not yet be able to rent to them. As you have explained, this has caught some people off guard and are most very disappointed when we have called to screen our guests. You have indicated that you think we are doing this to gain a higher price. Nothing could be further from the truth. We, as are most hotels, are nowhere near full, nor are rates at their normal levels. We are doing our part to keep those that HAVE to travel for work safe. We also look forward to the days ahead where none of us need to worry about Covid-19 and people are free to travel without rules and regulations. We hope to see you and your family when this is all behind us.

We went to Simcoe for a special event. We were happy to be able to get a room at Travelodge. The restaurant had good meals. Our room was clean and tidy, with good soaps and lots of towels. They have an indoor pool that was handy on a hot day, and extra towels were given for the pool area.

We visited in October 2021 for the Waterford Pumpkinfest. The room was ok, except that the door lock didn't work. We forgot to tip off management before we left (Rm 232).

We didn't bother with the pickup baggie breakfast provided, knowing that it probably would not be very good.

Some staff were rude. Complimentary breakfast was inedible. Hotel is very dated and needs updating. Drains were backing up in multiple rooms. Washroom/shower areas are very tight. I have stayed in many hotels and will avoid Travelodge in the future

Thank you for sharing your experience. You've mentioned a few things you were disappointed with. We are very sorry to hear that you didn't have a great experience with us. We have been in the process of renovating our guest rooms (slowly during the pandemic) and I think you would be very pleased with what we have done so far. I'm also very sorry to hear that you found our freshly baked muffins, our fresh fruit and granola bars inedible. We hope to be able to deliver our hot buffet breakfast again soon.

Trip cancelled due to Covid restrictions

I was planning a “Mental Health” weekend. No spouse, no pets. A new set of four walls to stare at. Sadly, even though things are starting to re-open, under current restrictions, my reservation had to be cancelled.

I am looking forward to being able to stay in the future though, as every staff member who has replied to my questions has been simply wonderful. I can only imagine that I would have had a truly relaxing weekend with these amazing people!

Looking forward to the day when restrictions Life enough that I can come stare at their four walls! LOL

Initially we felt this hotel looked and felt like a motel, but it grew on us during our four night stay from the uk. Although undoubtedly needing redecoration and general upgrading, everything worked and the rooms are a good size. All staff were helpful and very pleasant. The large out front car park could be softened to make the approach look more inviting. Having the restaurant on-site was useful and we ate there one evening and three breakfasts.

Thank you very much for your inquiry. Early check-in is based on availability. If we are sold out the night, with check-out being 11 am, there are times when we cannot make it happen. We won't make you wait until 3 pm if your room is available. Please note that there may be extra charges if you would like a guaranteed early check-in. If we can get you in anytime after 1, there wouldn't be any extra charge. Anything before 1 would be at the GM's discretion.
