The cabins are fully stocked, extremely clean and very comfortable. Thier restaurant/chef / the food - delicious! The surroundings allow you to truly experience a northern Saskatchewan lake - fishing was great, wildlife abundant. You must make it to Sunset Bay resort and experience it for yourself.

Theme Night was Greek and was amazing. Four course meal, soup, cool salad, dinner and desert. Al was tasty and very well presented. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. More theme nights planned and we will definitely try to return for another great meal. Other menu food looked great.

Our family of four adults stayed in a 1 bedroom cabin. Very clean, and well maintained resort. Information given prior to stay accurate. Photos on website are reliable images for their standards of upkeep. Owners and staff excellent. Cabin spacious and kitchen well stocked. Bed and pull out couch were comfortable. Enjoyed umbrella over picnic table, great barbecue. Beach and marina steps away, gas, ice and bait available. Variety of groceries and conveniences close by. Loved Emma Lake for swimming and water sports, fishing was decent. Locals and visitors friendly and helpful. Their motel rooms looked great also. We will go back.

My husband and I recently visited Sunset Bay Resort at Emma Lake for dinner to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The seats with the best view were being used as storage rooms! Our first warning of how terrible the food was, was to see half eaten plates being returned to the kitchen. Considering that they only offer three Entrees, the food should have been high quality. My husband had the riblets, which were very obviously pre-frozen. I had the haddock, which was so over cooked that it was hard chew, and very greasy. We had the escargot for an appetizer, and they were flavorless. The ones bought at Ambrose Grocery Store down the road are better! I would never suggest this "Resort" for a nice dinner to anyone. You'd be better off going up the road to Fern's Event Center; at least the food there is good even if it is casual fast food type dining.

Sorry to hear that you were disappointed. The storage rooms that you refer to, one is an entertainment / exit, the other area is waitress services area. Our staff is trained and given authority to resolve any issues that may arise. Your review was taken to our weekly staff meeting, and was dealt with accordingly. Hoping that the rest of your Anniversary day was enjoyable.

We spent a weekend here, ski doing and tobogganing. The cabins had everything you would need and were very clean. We had a great weekend and can't wait to return! The best part about our stay were the owners who were so personable and accommodating. They went above and beyond by bringing soup and tums to our cabin when my boyfriend became sick with the flu. Couldn't ask for friendlier people! I would definitely recommend this resort!!!
