After reading many negative reviews here, I was positively surprised. Apart from that the hotel looks old and dark and the air condition was noisy, everything worked well. The receptionist was friendly, the swimming pool was great, the continental breakfast was good and especially the staff in the breakfast room were very service minded and worked hard. There is a bus stop close by, which was useful, as it was totally impossible to get a parking spot in the city.

Our double room had french doors separating the beds, perfect to be shared by two couples. Each room has a fridge with a microwave just down the hall. Brand new furniture. Reasonable price, and just a short drive away from the attractions: old city, Chutes Montmorency and Ile d'Orleans. Great breakfasts are to be had at the Normandin, just down the road.

This would have been nice if it wasn’t that our assigned room has not been cleaned before we arrived. Clerk at the front desk were not so helpful. Room and bed was ok and breakfast also. Located at walking distance from centre Vidéotron. Old place and need some love

The location of the Hotel was great for us.Specious room with 2 queen size bed, clean linen were very good for the money. Free parking and always available space is a big relief. The team under the Command of Helene Lacroix is super like my family outside the family.
This is the best place I ever been.
Thank you guys.

This place has bed bugs!!! I stayed here for two nights. The first night my nephew got bit by bed bugs and we left our luggage on the floor. We told the front desk person that my nephew got bit by bed bugs and they said they will look into it. They then confirmed that our hotel room had bed bugs and changed our hotel room. We got into another hotel room right next to the bed bug hotel room. Once again we put our luggage down on the floor and then we left the next morning. I noticed I got bit by bed bugs the next morning on my arm. We picked up our luggage and then I took my camera case into my house which was infested with bed bugs. I now have bed bugs in my room and am extremely mad that we carried bed bugs home with us. I just sprayed chemicals in my room to treat the bedbugs. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL, THIS PLACE HAS BED BUGS!!!

Last summer, my girlfriend and I needed a place to stay for a brief weekend visit to Quebec City. After some effort, I was able to find a fair price hotel within the city which also offered some nice onsite amenities such as a swimming pool.

The property fashions itself a hotel/motel, and it's fairly easy to see why from its outer appearance. It is a modest sized two-storey building complete with a parking lot as well as an outdoor pool. What one doesn't notice from the outside that there is a basement level which hosts a small dining room, a small bar and an indoor swimming pool!

The room we received was on the first floor with a door to the parking lot (motel style) and another door connecting to the corridor (hotel style). It was a clean room of decent size and included a mirror outside the bathroom. The usual hotel appliances such as the lamps, telephone, and cable television were of typical satisfactory quality. The beds were pretty comfortable and the bathroom was fine.

In the main lobby I recall there being a small bar, although I never ventured inside it. Downstairs however, we had breakfast in the small dining room, and took advantage of the fair sized well-heated indoor pool. Behind a glass partition of the pool was another small bar. Unfortunately the smell of smoke from the bar did creep into the swimming area to a small degree.

The downstairs bar consisted of hardly much more than the actual bar and a handful of video lottery terminals. While waiting for the rain to stop outside, I tried my luck on one of the machines for awhile and was able to break even.

We didn't get a chance to try the outdoor pool, although we noticed on the first day, when the weather was nicer it seemed pretty popular with a bunch of mainly mid-aged and older folks who seemed mostly content lounging around the pool.

The location of the hotel itself is nestled into a mainly residential area, only a short drive from the principle tourist destinations downtown, also fairly accessible by public transportation.

Overall, the hotel isn't too far out of the way, and offers a comfortable stay alongside swimming activities and on site dining and lounging. It offers a very surprising number of decent onsite amenities given its style and price.

This is by far the worst hotel ever, the staff are very bad dressed. the front desk lady was dressed like you just walked into a rub & Tug house. the place smells and very dirty, even the couch in the waiting area was so bad. I booked through Expidia and this place got 3 Stars, it should have been rated as a Motel not a Hotel. we wanted out as soon as we got there, I would rather sleeping in a car than sleep in this hotel.

the price is not that good compare to walkin prices in the City.

We planned a quick trip to Quebec City and the surrounding area, so we searched for lodging with the best price. Hotel le Voyageur was the cheapest price we found for that particular day. The last couple of times we traveled to Quebec City we booked at the more well known hotels (i.e... Delta, Hilton...etc) ; so we were a little apprehensive about Hotel le Voyageur. Nonetheless, we decided to give it a shot. Keep in mind this is not in the same category as 3 or 4 stars hotels. This is a traveller's lodge/motel. We wanted a place that was close to the tourist spots we would be visiting (i.e. Old Quebec, Battlefield Parks, Chateau Frontenac, Parliament, Montmorency Falls and Sanctuaire de Ste. Anne de Beaupre. ). It is located within minutes of downtown Quebec and all of these spots. Contrary to some reviews, we thought the neighborhood that the hotel is located in to be quiet. We felt very safe. It is located near a variety of fast food places, a Chinese restaurant right in front (China Garden - Which we found to be quite good) and also very near a grocery store (Maxi). The room itself is clean. We booked a standard room with 2 queen beds, and each bed had its own tv.. the room has a sliding divider which gives each bed its own privacy. The bathroom consists of the toilet and bathtub. The only sink is located outside the bathroom with its own vanity mirror. There is also a small fridge. The bed themselves were firm, but we still had a good night's sleep. We were 4 adults with 2 small children and the room was more than enough for all of us. The stay includes free continental breakfast for all occupants of the room (You just have to make sure to let the reservations desk know how many people you are in the room when you first check-in.) Breakfast is served in a room located downstairs from the main reception area. There is an attendant always present to explain what is included in the breakfast (Normally you have 3 choices - either toast, small croissants or muffins or a combination of those, juice, milk or coffee with 1 refill, or a bowl of cereal. Cheese or creton are $2 extra). There is an indoor swimming pool which is open from 7am to 11pm which we took advantage of - the kids loved it!!) . Parking is free on site. There are numerous spots available around the hotel. Overall, the hotel is clean and comfortable. Which is what we wanted since we would be spending most of the day sightseeing and really only needed a place to sleep. We paid $79 for our room (includes the free breakfast). How can you go wrong at that price? We were very happy with our stay and will definitely come back again the next time we visit Quebec City.

It's not a fancy hotel but the staff were all very nice, it was clean and the price was right. I'd go back. It's super easy to reach the train station or downtown by public transport, just one bus. The continental breakfast wasn't great, but the breakfast staff were very kind and helpful.

Several rooms were booked for our hockey team. Rooms and hotel were clean but not modern. All rooms have 2 bedrooms separated by french doors. There was a large room in the basement where we were permitted to hang out (which also prevented the kids from running around). Kids also enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was sufficient - toast, muffins, cereal, oj, coffee. Very close to the old city (but not walking distance) and a quick drive to the Montmorency Falls. Hotel seems to be the only one in the neighbourhood so surrounded by duplexes. Gas stations, grocery stores, SAQ, Tim Hortons coffee shop and Starbucks nearby. Was just fine for our stay. Hotels.com gave us the best price.

We were perfectly satisified. In fact, two of the front desk people went and got us a card and gift when they found out it was our 50th anniversary. Good breakfast each day. Clean room on first floor at our request.
