Stayed at this hotel for a conference from Jan22-24,2020. Conference areas are decent, foods always very good. Rooms are extremely small and tired. Mine overlooked the pool which I assumed caused the damp/musty smell. Kept the curtains closed full time to ensure privacy. Dents in the walls, trim peeling off, bathroom door knob was very loose. No bathroom vent fan. Cleanliness level was acceptable but it’s just time for a refurb. Sound from the hallway makes it sound as if your doors open. There’s an inch gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. I would jam a towel into it at night trying to block some of the noise. Staff is always friendly, particularly the cleaning staff. I wish I’d gotten the name of a women who was mopping each floor in front of the elevators during my stay. She was incredibly genuine and kind. My conference meets every 18 months and always stays here however if no updates take place before the next one my group and I will plan to book at another nearby location.

As soon as we arrived and the front doors were completely blocked by people smoking we should have taken it as our first sign to leave.

Our group had 3 rooms for a night with the kids swimming. The rooms were unbelievably hot. One of the rooms was like a sauna. The rooms themselves were average a little on the small side the mini fridge was so loud.

When we got to the pool it was so loud as it was pretty crowded. The pool area was filthy. There were 2 drains near the small kids pool and they were surrounded in grime. The pool area clearly had not been cleaned in a long time. The pool bathroom floor was soaked and there were paper towels in the sink and all over the floor. I picked a few up and put them in the garbage but it was disgusting.

The pool itself had cloudy water and I did not see one staff person in at any time doing a pool area check or chlorine test. The hot tub jets were barely working. The stairs leading up to the slide were pretty wobbly.

We returned to the pool the following day and it was evident that no clean up had taken place. There were still cheezies on the pool deck floor and the drains were still clogged with scunge.

Going to the pool you had to wait for a staff person to let you in because of COVID protocols which was fine, but the hotel is clearly very short staff as we had to wait several minutes for someone to let us in the pool area. The staff that was there was very nice and it was clearly too busy for them to monitor the pool entry while managing the front desk.

I don’t mind outdated hotels but for the price we paid I expect that the hotel has decent sanitation maintenance, and temperature controlled rooms. We will not be returning to this hotel.

My sister, niece and I stayed overnight recently at this hotel, just for a girls’ overnight time together. We relaxed, played games in our room, watched TV, swam in the pool, enjoyed the hot tub, and ate supper in Aaltos restaurant and lunch the next day in the attached Tavern United restaurant. We had terrific service in Tavern from Jamie, our friendly and helpful waitress and very efficient service from Aaltos serving staff, and hostess. Food was delicious with lots of options at the buffet. We saw that the cleaning staff worked diligently in the hallways. Our hotel room was clean, and beds were comfy with nice pillows.

Two areas though, are suggested for improvement; the cable TV kept losing its signal numerous times and we had to shut it off each time and then restart it and find our original channel — just as we were watching an exciting WPG Jets close game. This was very frustrating. We didn’t call for help as we were only there one night, and felt we could manage the annoying power re-starts. Secondly, we waited abt 10 min to check out which was far too long. Only one front desk staff was on duty and only one couple was in front of us checking out, but there seemed to be a problem with their bill or payment process or ?? so she was tied up for a long time. The manager (we assumed) walked out from the back office to the front desk to pick up a paper but retreated back to his office. We thought he was coming out to serve us. No he wasn’t.
This well run and established hotel can & should do better in both these areas.

Otherwise, the accommodations and service were very good!

We stayed for one night for my daughter’s birthday and it was a very busy weekend at the hotel (Mother’s Day weekend). Despite there being so many people at the pool, the attendants kept the towels stocked up and the pool area clean. They were always checking in and tidying up. The pool itself was really clean, including the water slide, hot tub and kiddie pool.

The hotel room was older, but still comfortable and clean. Bed linens were clean and fresh and there were always housekeeping attendants around to get a fresh set of towels or amenities.

We had some technical problems with the tv and when we called, they sent someone up right away to look at it. The place was quiet at night, even though there were so many kids staying in the hotel. Room service was quick and hot and super tasty.

The check in and check out process was really efficient and easy. The front desk staff were knowledgeable and professional. Actually, every staff member we encountered was amazing and held open doors for us, smiled and greeted us, and even wished me a Happy Mother’s Day!

Overall, a really great stay and will definitely stay again. The staff made the experience so wonderful and you could really tell that they cared about their hotel and guests.

I was trying to book a room in the hotel 12 am in the evening as I had to catch a flight to Vancouver in the am. I would need a room for 5 hours to rest as I had travelled a long distance already. I was refused a room as there were none available the clerk said. When i finally found one room he charged me 220.00 for 5 hours and he was adamant about me having a credit card in good order and cash as a room deposit. He was absolutely the rudest clerk i have ever experienced in my life. I have stayed here many times on business, but this man was not willing to help me in the slightest. His attitude was awful, he should never work in public service.

We booked the king suite for a bachelorette party only to find out, after calling and asking, that they do not include a kitchenette. 11 people in a room for 4. The staff did their best to help us out with chairs s d cutlery as we tried our best to make it work.
After complaints the did not offer any discount on a room that cost us $300 for one night.

We arrived and from beginning to end the staff were extremely friendly and polite. They made sure that everyone felt welcome. It is a shame that the cleaning staff do not feel the same pride in their job. I always check for bed bugs when travelling, no matter where I stay as due diligence, even the nicest places can get them. Luckily I didn’t find them, but I did find ALOT of hairs on the mattress protector and it was clear this was not washed in some time. There was also more than a couple days worth of dust on furniture, also dirt in corners. It’s really a shame as the hotel has a lot of potential being near the mall and having friendly staff.

I just wanted to say, the guy who was working the front desk in the morning was EXTREMELY rude and had zero customer service. We had buses leaving from the hotel at 6am & just needed a couple basic questions answered from the man working the front desk. He was obnoxious and didn’t care to help us out whatsoever. When it came down to asking simple directions as to which doors we needed to be at for pickup, he refused to answer our questions and had a major attitude. We were asking to PURCHASE bottles of water & he treated us like we were peasants. We had to ask someone outside of the hotel to help give us directions. I will never ever stay at this hotel due to the horrible experience we had at the front desk. Next time maybe hire people who are capable of having a friendly, welcoming and helpful personality if you want business. This guy should not be put at the front of house EVER. I will never be back at the canad inns again.

Horrible front desk clerk and security guard they received a noise complaint on the floor the security guard discriminated against us based on the way we are dressed and looked. Kept threating to kick us out the first time he knocked on the door we acknowledged it might be a possibility the second time wasn't valid at all. He was very unfair. I ended up leaving because they were definitely trying to kick us out for no valid reason. I ended up going to the best Western hotel which I never had a single complaint. I don't recommend the polo park location I've been to Hundreds of hotels for leisure and business but this is my first. It's bad enough with covid but they made the experience felt like I was in jail at the same time

This place has taking a beating the past years without repairs or minor fixes. First off the check in was great and fast but as soon as we left the lobby we had one person almost do about five face plants on to the ground we felt we would wait to go go up the next elevator and waited for the next one the person was just hammered. We find out they kicked out a party happing in the rooms. We get to the floor to our room and greeted with a bunch of kids running the halls, there was water all over the tiles in front of the elevator which was there till when we left two days later. We couldn’t find a vending machine for a late night snack and drink. The hallways are all damaged with putty covering the holes. I never seen a place so run down. The room wasn’t any better. The noise in the hallways all night kept me up. We did enjoy the playmakers lounge which was nicely kept and great bartenders. My family will still stay at canad inns but not this one. The two nights we stayed altos restaurant was closed for some reason which we do enjoy at other locations. Maybe in a few years and hope they do some renovations and more security patrolling the halls at night. They did recently painted the outside of the hotel black which was a nice change from the old yellow boring colour.

I believe if you pre-arrange they would come at anytime during the day, evening may be different. Call the Hotel and ask to speak to the front desk manager or shuttle manager. I would not be rude but it is a service they offer so they should be able to work around your schedule.
