We chose this hotel for our stay during a concert. All of the hotels in the surrounding area were at least double the price for the night of the concert so after seeing no negative reviews for the Day Inn, we chose this hotel. The front desk staff were very nice and accomodating, the room was clean, and breakfast was good. The bed was a little hard but that was the only thing that could have been better. I would recommend this hotel and will be staying there again for the next concert we attend.

First time for my family and I to stay at the Days Inn. Room is spacious and clean, overlooking the pool which is filled but not open yet due to Covid19. The beds are not pillow top and very firm which brings down my rating of having a perfect room; far from being comfortable.

The continental breakfast is not offered and instead we got a bagged breakfast which was disappointing. The bagged breakfast came with a juice box, “tiny” muffin, apple, granola bar and yogurt. Not what I was expecting! Too bad they didn’t include a bagel and cream cheese instead of the granola bar and bite size muffin.

Overall, if you don’t mind hard beds and don’t care if you eat breakfast, I’d recommend the Days Inn. Staff is very friendly and the room is clean. Having a room face the courtyard is advised because you can sit on chairs outside your room and enjoy the courtyard instead of road noise.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you were disappointed with the breakfast but what we are able to offer is limited due to the BC Ministry of Health rules and guidelines. I am happy that you found our staff to be friendly and enjoyed our courtyard. I hope that you will choose to stay with us again.

After reading some of the reviews of the family suites which were not good, we were skeptical about staying at the Days Inn. But it was not so, our check in was smooth. They informed us at check in the outdoor pool was not working, but he website already said so. They don't have any elevators, once we checked in, they told us to drive around to the the other exit and we walked up a flight of stairs with out bags. The reception area has a buggy to load your bags from the car to the steps.
The family suite was quite spacious. The main bed is in the living room together with a Murphy bed if needed. The bedroom has a queen size bunker bed. Tv's in each room.
The rooms were clean and well kept. The AC worked well.
Sufficient towels and crockery and cutlery were supplied. They don't have room service to clean rooms, but if you asked housekeeping for fresh towels and kitchen cloths, Bailey and Nicole was very prompt and helpful. The fridge is medium size witg enough space for groceries for a couple of days. There is counterspace beside the wash washbasin which is outside the bathroom to keep your knick knacks.
The bathroom has containers of body wash, shampoo and conditioner. They also have hand soaps and bottles of body lotion near the wash basin. The kitchen is not big but enough space to prep meals and use the oven. Enough crockery and cutlery, if you need a pan or two just ask house keeping.
Breakfast was reasonably good, pancakes, sliced bread, croissants, crumpets, cereal, yogurt with mixed fruit, sausages and boiled eggs. No lactose free milk (I carried some for myself).
The WiFi is a bit sketchy at times.
The hotel is centrally located. A 5 to 7 minute walk to the beach and a 2 minute drive. Lots of restaurants on the strip.
The I door pool and hot tub work week with enough towels.
Stayed there because of a hockey camp, close to that venue.

When I arrived, the man at the front desk was not being kind to a customer who was obviously being very professional about a misunderstanding about the hotel not being able to use the credit card their room was booked under. She offered to give him her card to put it on hold while trying to sort out authorization to use a different card. He wasn’t nice about it.

The carpeted floors on the way up to the room were full of thick stains which looked like they could be cleaned out of effort was made.

When we got to our room, it was the same. One of my children thought there was poop on the floor.

The worst part was that the AC rattled and vibrates and went on and off so that we could not sleep, and I have NEVER had one of my children get up multiple times to tell me that they just can’t sleep at 1 or 3 am. There was no option for constant fan. By that time I just shut the AC off, but then the room got very hot and stuffy continuing to making it difficult to sleep.

I did not mention anything but the poor sleep to the front desk as that is the most important thing. It is why we book hotels right? The lady responded by telling me I should have opened the window and was very unsympathetic.

Breakfast was quite pathetic and it is about time that COVID is not an excuse as we have been to hotels providing much better, and some no sugar options with protein. It is no longer an excuse for not helping your guests get a good start to their day. There was no coffee, you had to make it yourself in your room and there were no lids for it to make it easy to take one on the go. For $120 a night guests expect a decent experience, not $60 economy experience and a place that does not respect guests in conversation.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry that you were disappointed with your stay. The carpets in the common areas of the hotel and rooms are shampooed on a regular basis, however during busy times it is difficult to do this while not inconveniencing guests and not interrupting normal business operations. Our breakfast has always been a continental breakfast and not a hot breakfast. There are rules that have been put in place both by Days Inn Canada at a corporate level and by the BC Government regarding our breakfast and businesses that serve food and beverage. The decision to change to a grab and go breakfast was made at a corporate level. We made the decision locally to close our breakfast room as the new rules about physical distancing put in place by the BC Ministry of Health means that we would only be able to fit 4 tables in our breakfast room and each table could only have a maximum of 6 guests from the same travelling party. With over 100 rooms at our hotel it would not be possible for everyone who wanted breakfast a chance to have breakfast. Also our breakfast is not an additional charge it is offered for free. Your comments will be shared with the appropriate staff.

Good experience, rooms are always clean and with the amount of rooms you can usually get a room on short notice. I have always found the staff to be very professional and helpful when asked questions about amenities in the area. The buffet needs an upgrade it is pretty weak, although if you are in a hurry it will do ok until you get a proper meal.

Where do I start. Pool and hot tub were not working.... nothing was said on the website and would not have stayed if I had known . I booked through a work website. I talked to the central call center of Wyndham hotels and they quoted me an all-in ( taxes and fees included ) price. Upon arrival the price was about a hundred dollars more and when the front desk called the main manager ( Brad I believe his name was ) all we could hear was him swearing and basically saying screw em' charge them the full price ( not the quoted price ) EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL
They were short staffed so daily cleaning was not available.
Only plus to this place was Syephen ( the gentleman and supervisor that checked us in ) He tried to be accommodating as much as possible despite his boss being so UNPROFESSIONAL.
Super disappointed in the experience.
If you book your rooms through a third party, ( Expedia, etc ) be prepared for extra fees at check in

The horrible musty smell in the room was over powering but the nice front desk staff offered to change rooms but that room was just as bad. Not sure what the smell was.

The breakfast was decent selection and friendly staff.

We didn't use the pool but our main floor room was beside the pool. The pool was very deep so older kids were loving it. And there was a spray deck for little ones.

Over all the rooms were dated but had a decent amount of space.

Location is good and the hotel is quiet. The suite doors are heavy so there no noise from hall or other rooms.

We found the hotel to be fine for our 2 night stay. The rooms were clean and spacious. It was a short walk to the beach and we walked to downtown Penticton in about 30 minutes. Because of the pandemic, the breakfast was a selection of prebagged pastry, yoghurt, fruit, bars and juice that you bagged yourself. I think the hotel did a fine job considering the challenges hotels are facing now.

This hotel is very old and has not been updated in a very long time. The location and proximity to the beach and other amenities was great. The pool area was quiet most of the time and there is a nice green space to enjoy. The continental breakfast was also good. My issues with this hotel was the cleanliness and lack of housekeeping. They do not tell you at check in that you will not be getting housekeeping unless you request it. Apparently they come every three days but we stayed four and they never cleaned our room. I had to ask a couple of times for clean towels and to have the garbage's changed. Upon arrival there was a used q-tip on the floor(gross) and the doors and mirrors were covered in hand prints. The patio had not been sweep as there was left over pieces of candy all over it. I knew the property was older, that I expected but I figured for 300 dollars a night I would at least have my room cleaned. They also provided towels by the pool but no place to put them when used. I have spent many years staying on the lakeshore and this hotel like many of the others look like they did 30 years ago. An upgrade is needed badly and communication with guests on check in that their rooms wont be cleaned needs improvement

The hotel room was spacious and clean; nothing missing. We had 12 people visiting in the room. At one point and it worked fine. The front counter staff and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast lady was very welcoming and quick to fill up anything that was running low. Would stay here again.

is there sufficient parking for a truck and boat?
Answer from Grant1834
Kamloops, Canada24 contributions33 helpful votes
My answer is yes, especially if you plan to stay with them at a time of the year that is not the peak tourist season. The parking lot size is generous, but if the hotel was plum full, then I suppose it would be more difficult. When I stayed with them in December there was lots of unused parking spaces. If you stayed with them during a busier time of the season, I still think it would be possible to find adequate parking if you were prepared to park on Burnaby Avenue which is the street you use to access their parking lot. I did not see anyone parked on Burnaby Avenue but I have no reason to believe that you wouldn't be able to use it. Best to check with the front desk.
