We chose this motel as it is one block off the beach in Penticton. That was nice as it made it easy to enjoy the water, activities and/or restaurants nearby. You really don't have to drive once you are there.

When we arrived the room they gave us not only looked like a 1970's time trap (very dated), it had a dirty toilet (being polite) and the room had obviously not been cleaned - food on the sofa, etc. I went back to the lobby, they apologized and luckily gave us another room. It was cleaner, still dirt in the corners of the room and spiderwebs, some areas could be considered an electrical nightmare...

There were 3 days they did not clean our room and I asked a younger cleaner for assistance she said they don't have time and that their priorities were only garbages and towels. We did not receive even those for 3 days... I complained and the head cleaner was always very lovely she did what she could to assist after being off those 3 days but by then we were quite frustrated with this experience.

There is a pool but was NOT open the entire time due to challenges with a renovation or permitting.

All of their staff were very kind with the exception of that one cleaner.

Another positive is having the kitchenette saved us a lot of eating out and the BBQs were fuelled up and good to use.

Consider before booking how much time you want to spend time outside versus being in your room.... I would not return to this motel.

We showed up early and only asked if our room was ready. We were told to give them about a half hour and it should be ready. We thought great and went to have lunch. Upon returning totally different tune from the same lady who now says well you know check in isn't until 4 pm. Which is fine I get it we were early but then don't say give us a half hour? Our next disappointment is no one told us the pool is NOT OPEN!?!?! Very disappointed and would have booked else where. This place is understaffed to which we get but when you have guests that have already arrived, maybe move your staff to their room to get completed (not wait and do it at 3:30pm) so they can get out of the 30 degree weather? To which our room was still NOT ready at 4 pm - we didn't get into our room until 4:40pm with no apology. The room even with new flooring, they should have left carpet as if it was clean our feet were black from walking on it and all you could feel was sand. The room had no fan and the air conditioning barely reached that room to cool it off. Thankfully they had a crappy pull out couch, which really should be thrown out it's old and dirty looking. We pulled our the sofa couch and put our mattress on top. Big pain in the butt but at least we could feel the air conditioner. The bathroom needs an overhaul as the missing gaps of chaulking on the tub with rust showing is disgusting and everything in the bathroom needed to be overhauled and renovated. This room is run down and should not be rented at full rate or at all.

We stayed here for a week to play a bridge tournament. It is a modest hotel, but it provided everything we needed. The kitchen is complete with a big dining table. The bed is clean and comfortable. The location is great for going to the convention centre and walking along the beach of Okanagan lake. We did not need room service except we asked to change towels and shampoo.

The rental is good. Okanagan Lake Beach is across the street.
but that's all.
uncomfortable mattress. bedspread with spots.
when we booked nothing said that the pool was closed because of the Covid. we only found out on the spot. but in reality it was being repaired. See picture
no BBQ
no housekeeper.
you had to go to the office every day to get clean towels, empty the garbage, get toilet paper, etc. yet the other motels had all of these services.
let's talk about household, the floor is very dirty. we had black feet if we walked barefoot. See picture
dust on furniture
We had to close the curtains to be private so very dark in the room even during the day. See picture
I had to wash the dishes before using them.
we are non-smokers and the room smelled of smoke.
very disappointed with this place for the price.

We have been staying on and off over the last 30 years at the Shoreline. It's the most perfect location and we love the place. The rooms do need to be up-graded just a little, however, no complaints for us really. It's always very clean and that's what matters.
This is the second time we have had one of the front rooms right on the beachfront. Wouldn't do it again but only because our neighbours were chain smokers and the smell really drifted into our room so we had to keep windows and door shut at all time. The little round table outside their room should definitely be a NON smoking area.
Having said this we will definitely return but will just not stay in one of those front rooms. Lesley on the front desk was just lovely as was the night manager. Thanks for being there. June and Nelson

Was given a reservation (with a confirmation number) last summer for a long stay this summer. I emailed to inquire about a deposit and the front desk person said that the room I booked was under renovations and wasn’t available. She then quoted me a room rate to rebook, then called back quoting triple the original rate. Had I not emailed, I may have shown up only to find the reservation cancelled. Here’s a quote from the email: “ Hi Jackie, the room your booked into was under renos and is NOT available yet this year. And Phil no longer works here. You might want to call and make new arrangements. Thank you Cindy Front Desk”

have stayed here for 14 years in June. Many new managements through the years. they were all great until now. hotel owner is greedy.
i paid 6 nights and only stayed 3 because my friend had a fall in her room at this place and was in hospital. they would not refund my 3 nights which was over $500. no service in my room. Very poor management although the office staff were fine. we were there for event at the convention centre.

Had a nice stay and will go back again. Staff were friendly and helpful. It sounds like they've only had the place for a year and are in the midst of renovating the rooms.
We went for a few day beach vacation and didn't plan on spending a lot of time in the room, so for us it was great. It was clean, everything worked, and it's steps from the beach. Yes, our feet were black from whateverafe them that way....but the lake washed it off. We had a queen room with a suite living space and our 7 yr old slept on the pullout, she loved it.
I wish the pool was in operation, but again, the lake. Its not a 5 star hotel, it's a motel on the lake at a reasonable price, steps from the lake and all the amenities needed.
We will definately be going back! Thanks for a great vacation spot and good memories.

We have been coming to Shoreline Resort for the past 7 years. We love the location & always had a great time. But since covid we are finding the rooms has gone down. There was still no pool available & hotel prices were not reflected in their pricing. I really hope this resort looks at upgrading the rooms with renovations & update common areas.
