Considering it was an overnighter it wasn’t bad. A very long walk from the front desk to the room. Room was small but the strangest thing about it was the bathroom sink not being in the bathroom. What was interesting was the kitchenette and the fact that there was everything there, pots pans dishes cutlery.

My trip was an unfortunate one however, extremely surprised and impressed with rooms 135/136. A standard room should have a bed, tv, the usual. Imagine the shock to find a small kitchen complete with stove, microwave, fridge and yes, a dishwasher AS WELL AS dishes, cutlery and cooking utensils. My only complaint was that for the 3 nights that I was there, not once was my room cleaned, towels or coffee refills provided to me. They did supply more coffee upon asking at the front desk.

The hotel was average. However, the air conditioning sucked in the room. We woke up in the middle of the night sweating because the room was so hot. The rest of the stay was okay besides that. I would recommend asking for an inside room due to people walking back and fourth all night outside of the room and keeping us up.

Location, location, location. On Macleod Tr just a couple blocks S of Glenmore and the Chinook Mall, easy access to all major routes and downtown. All major chain restaurants and amenities are close by. Liquor store and a small strip mall right next door, Five Guys in the block behind this motor hotel, a pub or two nearby and Denny's is also close by. The Staff is great, very friendly and helpful. Very reasonable prices, $$ and they had a room available for early check in. Includes use of pool, hot tub, fitness room and a free breakfast. Modern style serve yourself with waffle makers and hot cereal, boiled eggs and fruit, bagels etc. Decaf Coffee and Gluten Free bread were available in the included breakfast. Our room was second floor near the stairs. Beds we had were two queens, small room but was VERY clean. All amenities in room, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, blow dryer etc. Super comfortable beds, perfect pillows and blankets. Both of us slept like babies both nights. Parking is a little tight sometimes, as the hotel seems to be pretty busy. Our room was cool, even though the heat was cranked. However we slept very well and the blankets were cozy and warm so we really can't complain about that. For Value and Location, you can't do better in Calgary to my knowledge. We stay here every time we come to Calgary to visit kids and g kids. Recommended for anyone on a budget who is looking for a nice clean and convenient hotel/motel in the S end of city.

This was the first time staying in the super eight at this location. We stayed here because it was close to the gun show that we were going to be attending. We had our two dogs with us so we had a pet room and had an outside entrance.
The room had a microwave stove and full-size fridge which was good because we also stopped at Mcewans Butcher’s to pick up black pudding
We can’t complain about the room it was clean well-maintained. The staff were very friendly. You got a small breakfast in the morning
We would definitely stay here again if we came back to Calgary

We stayed here for three nights. Not once did they come get the towels or make the beds (4 people and 3 nights and swimming equals a huge pile of towels). The 2nd day we asked them if they would come get the towels and the front desk clerk said "sorry this is my first day I'm not sure what to do. I'll ask my coworker who has stepped outside then call back in awhile and see what they say". She could've called housekeeping or grabbed a laundry cart and come and got them. The sheets on our bed were out on sideways. Cover on bedding kept coming off the thin comforter. Building old and dingy. The breakfast was bagged and it was the same thing every day from Costco: a dry muffin, yogurt, small orange, and water. I get that it's a budget hotel but next time pay a little more and stay somewhere nicer. Not worth the little bit of savings.

Make sure you take pictures of the white bedding before using it they will try and charge you for any stain they think they can ding you with. Also will charge extra cleaning fees if your bathroom and room isn't precleaneaned. Blatant scam to keep some of your deposit

Thank you for your feedback. All guests who do not cause damage, get all their deposit back. It would be fair to say that over 99% of our guests will not be charged additional fees. Unfortunately, if sheets are stained, there would be a charge.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
I by mistake booked this Motel 8 instead of the amazing one right up the road in Shawnessy. When I arrived I was really kinda scared to even get out of my car. There were suspicious looking people all around the hotel. When I explained to the manager that I had just booked this about 10 mi utes ago, but chose tbe wrong location, he refused to let me transfer or give me a refund for even one of the 2 nights I booked. I had my 2 young grandsons with me, and the one I meant to book had a water slide and I had flown in to spend time with my grandsons. He would not give me a refund because he was upset that I had booked through a 3rd party.
Alexander is the manager I spoke with and he was very rude.
For a better budget stay, go about 7 miles down the road to a much friendlier, safe, clean comfortable stay.

I was initially worried about our stay based on other reviews. I was pleasantly surprised to see our room was very clean and spacious. We had soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hair dryer, microwave, fridge and iron in our room. I liked that we could park outside our door. There is a door into the inside hallway as well as to the outside parking lot. The location is fantastic. You can walk to restaurants, Chinook Mall and the C-Train. We didn’t try the pool. The breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast with self serve drinks, waffles, bagels, yogurt, cereal and hard boiled eggs. The front desk gal was very friendly and efficient.

Dirty rooms, our hockey team rolled in around 9:30pm and some of our rooms somehow got cancelled but they couldn't provide any information on the cancellation confirmation. Didn't offer us any assistance to find a new place. Rooms that were claimed were dirty and dirty. They advertised a hot breakfast, but all that was served was bagels and fruit. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!

Hi nat0420, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. Our breakfast offering includes the following: fresh waffles, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, toast, fruits, and cinnamon buns. In addition, our egg frittatas, egg wraps, and hash browns are served warm for our hot breakfast, The group rooms were not guaranteed after the cut-off day and therefore canceled. We did provide your coach with the neighboring hotel details (500m down the road, same hotel category, similar prices). I’m sorry you felt that the rooms were not cleaned.
