I love Shadow Lawn Inn. It is a beautiful old inn that has been updated. Each room has a unique feel to it and I have tried them all. The Inn always makes me forget my daytime work stress. The room colours are muted, the linens and beds are soothing. The restaurant is top notch. Not just good but an experience that makes me want to come back over and over again. It is a special place but I have to say a review would be incomplete if it did not mention that the staff truly are wonderful. A place that is good as a get-away, for special celebrations and if you are lucky enough to be working in the area...a refuge at the end of a long day.

We stayed at the Inn last night and found it to be amazing! Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The fireplace was a welcome feature on this chilly night! We purchased the "Dine & Stay" package which included a 5 course tasting menu, a bottle of wine and breakfast. Our service was exceptional! Young blonde girl .. wish I could remember her name .. so pleasant and attentive. Our meal was absolute money!! Delicious! Exceptional presentation and fantastic flavour profiles within each of the 5 courses. Management/Ownership was hands-on during our entire stay. Five Stars and 2 thumbs up 👍👍to the entire Robertson Restaurant and the Shadow Lawn Inn team for a job very well done! We'll be back

During Covid they had a cute date night where Shadow Lawn Inn delivers a three course meal to your room at a very reasonable price. We were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The service and the food were great! We had a smoked salmon and soup appetizer. We both had the steak as the main. Our deserts were a cheesecake and brownie. We would definitely come back to the restaurant once it’s open.

My wife and I could not have been happier with the services provided by Martin St Denis and his staff at the Shadow Lawn Inn.

Wedding planning, food, rooms and all other services such as lining up a pianist, decor, etc. Martin was incredible. Their property was extremely well kept and so were the rooms, dining area and bar room.

All of our guests were impressed with each course of the meal. Staff worked efficiently and were very accommodating during our speeches, toasts, etc.

We were able to host a wedding rehearsal and there were multiple locations on the property to host the ceremony, for a very reasonable fee.

Many last minute changes were made, all were fulfilled.

There is not a single thing that I can say Shadow Lawn was not able to provide.

My family has been having weddings at this location for generations and it’s great that Martin and his staff are continuing this tradition in the classy fashion which the property has built its reputation on.

Amazing.

Thanks Martin!

Very disappointed in my stay. Not sure where to start. I grew up in Rothesay, and most of my friends and family still live there. I was warned against staying, as it is not the same quality as it was in the past, but, being sad to hear that, I decided to see for myself. The room was terrible. The air conditioner had a friggin search light on it that lit up the entire room during the night. There was no way to turn this light off, unless you turned the AC off, which we did, and then we slept uncomfortably in the heat. There was no coffee in the room. The wifi kept disconnecting, which was no good for me, as I was trying to finish up some work during my stay. The restaurant (one of the main reasons I went to stay there) was closed !! I was not told of this during my booking, AND I was still charged the same, ridiculous, high season price for the room !! I am just completely upset with staying here, and I feel like I should be refunded for the entirely sub par experience. Do not bother staying here, save your money. I had a better stay up the road at the quality Inn and suites.

I am beyond livid with the Shadow Lawn Inn. They just gave away my Honeymoon suite for the night of my wedding, to allow another wedding to book with them since they are booking out the entire hotel. They were very cold and unprofessional, seemly to not care at all that I now have to find another place for the Honeymoon suite only a year out; which is not enough time since many people have rescheduled their weddings to next year. I have a confirmation number and a guaranteed agreement for my date. The new owners of this B & B are clearly casting me aside so they can make more money with a guaranteed full house. There was no offer of compensation at all.

Shadow Lawn inn is more concerned with its restaurant than its B and B guests.
Carpets are threadbare, sheets discoloured, no greeting on arrival. Never saw the owners. Given a small pot of yogurt with a cold croissant for breakfast each day. My husband got the end of a piece of Brie - no choice of anything. The place was cold and deserted like the owners have run out of money? We chose an inn for what we hoped would be its its personal touches and local knowledge but we saw no one. It was as impersonal as a large corporate hotel without the conveniences or standards they would offer. What a strange place. We travelled from the Uk and spent 17 days in the East coast of Canada and this establishment was the only disappointment. We checked out a day early - we left a note for the owner (who could not be found) but she never contacted us. We lost the money for that night but that’s how desperate we were to get out of there!
You get the feeling that B and B guests are an inconvenience and their restaurant guests are their priority. There was certainly no evidence of fine dining in the cold meagre offering we received.

What a beautiful, elegant experience. This old mansion, full of charm and grace had a lovely welcoming feel.
When checking in I was asked what we'd like for our "continental breakfast"... cheese? eggs? yogurt? coffee tea juice?
Imagine our delight when we entered the dining room and there was our table with a pot of hot coffee waiting, as well as juice. Then the "continental breakfast" arrived.
A beautifully presented plate with fresh fruit, yogurt, 2 hardboiled eggs and a warm raisin scone with jam. Delicious!
I would recommend this place for anyone who appreciates the finer things in life.

We had an extended stay at the Shadow Lawn Inn while visiting family in the area. The service was wonderful. Our flight was late arriving and Tracy stayed up to make sure we got settled without any issues. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean. The "continental" breakfast was more than expected with good variety over our 17 day stay. Tracy and Martin and the staff were friendly and very accommodating to our needs. Martin, on short notice arranged a private reception for us in the dining room. We also had a delicious meal in the Robertson restaurant which is part of the inn. The food and service were excellent. I would recommend this property to anyone staying in the area.

we were there on business and were given the suites. The rooms were large and beautifully appointed. Each room is different. Some have a whirlpool tub, some a fireplace, another a small refrigerator.
Martin , one of the owners was extremely accommodating and pleasant. The meals were an absolute treat. We dined there each night and had our breakfast served in a lovely breakfast room.
