- NatashaGRLong Island, NY427 contributionsRead the itinerary before you decide. Pickup is at 8; drive to ferry about 45 mins; ferry to gardens is 1 1/2. Ride to the gardens is about 30 mins; 2 hrs exploring the gardens. Drive to downtown Victorid and spend 2 1/2 hrs. Return same way you came.
I enjoyed myself bc I was prepared: snacks, water, sneakers, sweater, money. Our driver KEVIN was so knowledgeable from pickup to drop off. He bought cherries and shared with us. His suggestions and tips were so helpful at each drop. Our tour return, he accommodated those who wanted to be dropped by the fireworks.
It’s an all day tour. Some needed medical attention and some complained. Why? Because they didn’t read beforehand.
My biggest complaint is the tour bus. With such a long day, tour buses should have outlets for charging. However, there are charging stations on the ferry. Also, it should be cleaned thoroughly. Boat was great, crew - Francois, Sandy, Reid, Sam and Michael were all amazing, very knowledgeable and friendly! He is very well connected with the restaurants, introducing us to the proprietors and chefs, some of whose shared their own stories. The crew took time to interact with all of the guests and provided great information on the whales and Orcas we saw on the trip. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. Very friendly and cheerful throughout. We did see two pods of Orcas at the very beginning and then saw Humpback whales as well. The crew was able to identify the name of the Humpback and his back story. Great time and great company. The scenery from the ferry was great and we had time to wander around Victoria, and then go on an additional city tour with Ryan. The highlight of the tour was Butchart Gardens! They were so impressive, especially the sunken gardens. We were amazed at the number of plants, variety of gardens and the overall beauty of the gardens. - Ally B7 contributionsWOWWW!!! I’ve paddle boarded for years and years and years, but never experienced night paddling with glow lights attached to the board to light up the ocean beneath! Also following Josh with amazing music playing created an absolutely epic, peaceful, glorious journey on the water!
I will be recommending this to anyone who visits this area. It’s a must must do!! Day or night , The facilities were awesome. He met all of our needs! Even had a neck strap for my glasses so I didn’t lose them! And some pretty amazing local snacks and amazing kombucha for sale after our paddle! My hubby and I LOVED IT! We were the first boat out of the harbour that morning and therefore had to find whales, and find them we did! By the end of the day we had saw three types of seals, a sea otter, bald eagles and an unbelievable 20 humpbacks up close and personal. They are always knowledgeable, respectful of the animals and the environment and taught the people on the boat throughout. They were absolutely exceptional with our children, teaching them how to spot whales, how the boat worked, and even bringing up kelp and treating them to a snack, instrument and toy made out of kelp. It was so worth the money and we would never go with another tour operator after that. Plus we will be getting proper photos from Lizzie’s SLR soon, which is like a built in souvenir. Captain kept us informed as to location of ship and the surrounding areas. Would recommend to anyone going to Victoria. - Lavonne WBellevue, WA33 contributionsOur guide, Jim, was friendly, knowledgeable, and saved us time at Buchart by knowing how to get around the construction in the area. The City part of the tour was informative and much more in-depth than I thought it would be. We had 2 hours at Buchart which was just enough time to enjoy its beauty. An aside: I forgot my souvenir bag in the van and they had another driver come by that evening and drop it at our hotel - amazing customer service.
